  1. OK DCFers help me out. i am doing a DCF out ot italt and i need to know when i get my packet 3 do i send out the ds230 and the i-864 with it or do i hold on to the I-864 till the interview.????

also if my mother will be co-sponsoring and she is in the u.s does she send the I-864 directly to the counsulate in naples (or NVC im not sure) or does she send it to me and i send all of it together??? and i heard there is a fee for sending from the u.s does this apply to her?

Iam lostI hate this necessary evil I-864 please help!!! :crying::crying:

I used a co-sponsor as well. I had my co-sponsor send all documents to me and we took them to Naples for the interview, where we turned them in. You will get an email from Naples once they receive your case from Rome. That email will have an attachment that is the packet 3. I recommend looking on the website for the Embassy in Naples and getting the packet 3 prior, so that you can start collecting the required documents...that's what I did, so that I was able to schedule our interview ASAP. Let me know if you have any other questions. We just completed my husbands visa via DCF a month ago. Good luck!

  2. Hello everyone! I've got a friend who asked me about the following situation: Her husband had a 2 yr conditional green card but they moved overseas together instead of removing conditions. They would like to return to the US now and they want to know what/if he should expect problems getting his visa to move back since he "abandon" his green card once?! They have a USC child together. They had intentions of staying overseas, but have since decided that they want to return to the US. I'm not sure about this, so I'm asking yall for any input. Thanks!

  3. Hello, I'm not sure what "James's shortcut for DCF" is, but I can tell you that I am a USC living in Italy, married to an Italian citizen. I filed DCF, beginning the process 31 Aug 11, by sending my I130 to Rome. We have our interview scheduled for 21/22 November in Naples. Our experience has been that the process of DCF here in Italy is actually pretty fast without taking any shortcuts. Good luck with your visa process!

  4. They have joint custody and had a verbal agreement before my husband came here that we'd get him summers but only alternating Christmas breaks as she sends him to stay with her mother in Scotland at the holidays.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation. My ex husband and I had "verbal agreements" concerning our children as well. After talking to a lawyer, she told me that our verbal agreements didn't mean much and wouldn't hold up in court. Everything has to be in writing otherwise it's a case of he said, she said. I hope that your step son gets better and yall get to take him to Disneyland...in the US or Paris, as others have suggested.

  5. Hello everyone! I have a question for yall. I am the US citizen and have 2 children from a previous marriage. My husband (Italian citizen) and I have one child together. Is there a place on either the I130 or the DS230 that I need to list the names of my children from my previous marriage? Based on what I understand, both forms ask for the names of my husband. I would appreciate any info and I'm a little confused.

    Thanks!

  6. Hello, I am new to this site. I have a question about the I864. I am the US citizen and my husband is an Italian citizen. We are living in Italy and I have filed the I130 with the Embassy in Rome. We have received notice that that was approved and the case has been forwarded onto the Naples. I am now working on getting everything together and one of the forms is the I864. I am a stay at home mom, but we have filed US tax returns while we have been over here. My grandmother is going to be a co-sponsor for us since I do not have a job in the US at this time. My question is...can I just put $0 in the income box for the I864? I appreciate any help! Thanks!
