I think the previous post before your's was stating OFFICIAL wedding here in U.S. then once the time is right, go celebrate back in the home country.

All the advice I've heard is do NOTHING like a wedding before getting legally married and documented in the U.S. because it can be misleading at the time of the interview. THEN later on, go to the home country and celebrate.

Right, so we both just decided not to do non official or whatever wedding ceremony here in the Philippines. Might consider it after 2 years its never too late. Thanks alot for all the advice guys....

Or, are you talking about an unofficial wedding ceremony where there is no paperwork involved and where you are not getting legally married?

Does any of you guys thought about having a wedding ceremony with your fiance at your own country first before leaving, after getting your K1 visa? Is that possible? Me and my beloved Fiance thought about doing it...

This wasn't a "first step of approval" ... it just means they have your package. They don't go through the documents, just process the payment and send it off to VSC or CSC for adjudication. Once your petition gets adjudicated, that's when you'll find out whether or not there is an RFE.

Yes !!! Congrats thats the noa1 it will say your pettition has been accepted. Make a few copies of that for later. Jim.

noa-1 it's to let you know your file was received.when you receive the noa-2 your approved, you have a long wait for that.

yes thats right and i know that, just happy that we got our first step of approval without RFE and yeah its a long long wait....ty

Wooohoooooo thanks God thank you, gosh it's fiance's fault, he has this form few weeks already and didnt know that this was the NOA1 and i was going crazy waiting for that first notice...I wasnt able to sleep few nights just wondering what happened to our NOA1 taking forever to recieve....anyway thanks

Is the form I-797C form the NOA1?

Have you seen that your check has been cashed yet? Also did you send with delivery confirmation if by post office or tracked the package if UPS or Fedex? I saw that about 2 days before I got the Noa1. Also seems I read something about August being end of their fiscal year so maybe thats the delay but you should try tracking the package. Jim.

We can't help but wait.

-In the meantime, just get all the documents needed Passport, CENOMAR, NBI, Birth Cert (you may be surprise that there's a tiny error in it that needs correction, like mine- got a "BLANK" sex, I still have to go to my birthplace to correct it), Police report if you lived abroad for at least 6mos.

-Read (A LOT) as much as you can. Tips. Do's and dont's in the embassy. Talk to people that have been on K-1 visa. A lot of their tips surprised me...and the more I read, the more I am stunned.

-Keep on double checking stuff that you hear until you get it right.

-Tell your fiance to get ready for the Affidavit of support paper evidence.

-Print what's needed to be printed.

-Keep communicating with your fiance and document it again.

-Keep in touch with VJ..

-Pray

Oh well , yeah just really gotta have to wait, but thanks alot for this though this is a good tip already, gotta continue reading more stuff on here...Do all these in the next following days

I am starting to panic, but I feel relieved that someone has been waiting longer than we are. Maybe they have been stacked with too many petitions. Who knows. I think it varies: season, number of application, who reviews it etc...

We mailed ours via fedex on sept 30, 2011, no NOA1 yet

I am getting really nervous while waiting for this NOA 1 its been a few weeks. We're september filer. I've seen some people on here got thier NOA 1 in just short period of time. How long does it really have to take for the NOA to arrived? IM sooooo frustrated now. PLs need some advice...Thanks alot
