one the form DS-156 staple or glue only one passport photo and take extras of 2 - 4 with you to the embassy/interview day

ask your beneficiary to help you with it then send/attach as an email to u. i had same problems too until someone suggested that i ask my fiance in the States to help me. U ll be fine it doesnt secretly save it, i felt same then because after he help me we realized there was a mistake each time like til three times,lol :lol: we refilled/corrected comes with a different barcode each time you refill.

Something about 30 days of face time seems to be the magic number for Lagos. Less than that amount of face time your chances for approval go down. A week you are at less than a 50% chance of getting approved. If you have lots of photos with family in public settings you may sneak by , otherwise plan another trip.

they just need to know or see if you guys spent so much time together and also with friends and family so you need such evidences like my fiance was in Nigeria like 5 different times esp during festive periods and we had lots and lots of pictures. Goodluck to you!!!

I'm not on initial review, it got updated well for me on the USCIS website. I subscribed for email and text updates, and we never received any text, but the email worked! Nothing to understand about this… sometimes it works, sometimes not.

You will maybe receive a letter from NVC, but in like 2 weeks. If you want the most recent update on your file, you can call NVC, press 1 for English, then 5 to speak to an operator and ask if they received your case. I don't know how your embassy works, if you need your case number from NVC to book your appointment or medical… If not, you're not obliged to call NVC.

Wow i'm so surprised when i received an email from my fiancee. He received the approval letter today! We are approved I really can't believe it because i checked the USCIS website everyday and until now it is still initial review! I'm not sure if he received the hard copy already i have to ask him tonight , all i know is our papers has been forwarded to the consul! !! October filer here we sent our packet last October 24 , 2011 goodluck everyone!!

Same with us Timchen we still in initial review even after the NOA2 approval(31/01/2012) + hard copy(through mail) but no emails, text alerts..... Dont know why???????????? what do u think friends???????

Incorrect, OP is a US Citizen filing a petition for a K1. The purpose of US Citizen submitting a birth certificate with the petition is to establish US Citizenship. Submitting copies of all pages of a US passport (including the front and back covers) also establishes US Citizenship. If copies of all pages of a US passport are submitted, then US Citizenship is established and an RFE for a birth certificate would not be issued.

On form I129F question 10 asked for birth certificate number, and place it was issued. What should I since I am not sending my birth certificate?? Leave it blank?? is that a red flag?

they won't accept the short birthcertificate,you need the long birthcertificate.it has more information on it.if you send the short one you mite get a rfe.

I guess shouldn't send my birth certificate at all then.

Copy ALL pages of your passport and submit that, forget the birth certificate. Copying all pages of your passport establishes your US Citizenship.

Write your mother's name correctly on your G-325A.

Since I have already suggested you submit a copy all your passport pages, the typos on your birth certificate will not be an issue because if you follow my suggestion, you will not be submitting your birth certificate.

In the same birth certificate they misspelt my mother maiden name.

What should I do? Should I still go ahead and I file the petition using my US Passport only and on G-325A should I using the mother's maiden name in the birth certificate currently or type in the correct name and correct these mistakes before interview??

Yes, VJ is very helpful. I went for the interview as well, I really do think it made a difference. They won't let you in, but just let them know you are there supporting her. I have never heard that a certain time of the year is any better. Our petition was received October 26, 2010. Our interview was September 9, 2011...

I think you will be ok. Sometimes they approve with just the one visit. Sometimes they seem to want more. you are lucky to get to go at Christmas, I hear it is so much fun, but I have yet to get to go then!

I will be sending my petition off before the month ends. I heard filing in Fall is better than summer. How true is that?
