waiting for my EAD also! got sent out yesterday

so just making sure, on my I-485 under the current USCIS status do I put out of status?

I feel like I have a complicated situation. I was in the US with a F-1 visa but found out I was pregnant, so my fiance and I got married and then our child was born in January. I am not going to school right now so my F-1 visa is invalid, I was told I am able to stay because I have a child who is an American Citizen also they said I would be considered out of status.

Can anyone help me with what exactly what my status is? what forms do I need to fill out? and when my visa would have expired? also because I am out of status would I be able to travel to Canada and get back into the United States?

Did any of you get an immigration lawyer to make sure the forms are filled out properly? if so how would I go about doing this, do you have any suggestions? approx. how much will it cost?

if you didn't get an immigration lawyer how did everything turn out? did you have any problems?

We are planning on getting married in Canada because that is where all my family. And I have more family then my fiance. If my F-1 visa is still valid I would still be able to enter the states...And while I'm still in school with my F-1 visa I will be able to file for a green card. am I wrong? or would that work?

I am a Canadian citizen currently engaged to an american and going to school in the states with an F-1 Visa. We are planning on getting married in Canada but living in the states before my F-1 visa is invalid. However, I have NO idea what comes next. If someone could help me out on what I have to do next or should be doing now to help my situation out that would be fantastic. Thank you!
