  1. Question on Tourist Visa Delivery Timeframe at Panama Consulate

I have a question about the timeline after a US tourist visa has been
approved at the Panana Consulate. I read online that after the visa has been approved, it
will be issued and the passport will be sent to a designated location of
    the applicant’s choice.

QuestionHow long is the timeframe between when the visa is approved at
the interview and when it arrives at the designated location ready for pick up? How many days?

I would love to know this information so I can determine how long the
applicant will be without their passport. Does anyone have intel on this?

Can you please show me how you did it cos I need to reschedule my appointment too. Thank you.

You have to go to the  U.S. Embassy in Accra on any business Wednesday at 7:30 am to reschedule another appointment.  You will need to bring the original appointment letter and a letter explaining why the appointment will be missed. You should also bring a copy of your photo identification for entry into the Consular Section. If you are not in Ghana and cannot get there, you have to send this informtaion with a friend or family member.  The friend or family member must show ID to gain entry into the consular section. Be sure to seek a new date well before your interview date. You don't want to run into a scenario where they refuse to reschedule you.  Please let me know if you have additional questions. Good luck.

Call this numbers +233505885956 or +233506592787 or call +17035202573 try this numbers

Thank you very much, Jemal. Unfortunately, two of those numbers were not operative. The 703 number was operative, however, the person on the line referred me to an email address. I finally heard back from the Embassy via email about rescheduling and they are taking me through a long process to do the rescheduling. I hope I can convince them otherwise. I really wish the Embassy was more responsive and accessible through remote channels.

Thanks again and all the best.

  4. I think you should go to the USA embassy site and you will get some numbers to call I think they have customer care because I have talk to one before just that I don't remember the number look on the site if u didn't find any I will figure out for u good luck

Thanks for your reply, Jemal. Are you referring to this website http://ghana.usembassy.gov/ ? If so, I have called this number: +233 (0) 30 274 1000 that is listed on the website. When I call that number, the person either transfers me to an automated line or hangs up on me. I would greatly appreciate it if you can find the number you called for me. Thanks again!

  5. I suggest you should call them that will be better than to sit down and wait good luck

Unfortunately, they do not provide a customer service number. The number I have is a switchboard number. When you call, the person will just transfer you to an automated message or simply hang up on you. The other numbers listed on their website do not work (at least not for me). Do you or any one happen to have a properly working customer service phone number for the Accra consulate? Thank you.

  6. Hi,

I have an immigrant interview for the F2B category in early May 2016 at the US consulate in Accra, Ghana. I am currently abroad and outside of Ghana. When I received the appointment letter from the NVC, I immediately emailed IVaccra@state.gov to reschedule it. I will be recovering from a medical procedure and cannot attend the interview. I sent that email 3 weeks ago along with other emails to the same email address periodically. I have not heard from them neither did I even receive that automatic message that my emails were received. My appointment date is fast approaching and I cannot attend.

    (1) Does anyone have any tips for me based on past dealings with the Ghana consulate?

    (2) Apart from email, how can I effectively reach them?

    (3) Also, is anyone aware of their rescheduling practices/processes for immigrant visas?

    Thank you!

How long you have to wait after your PD becomes current is based on how your embassy makes available slots for your visa category. Right now all Visa types at Ghana are a 4 to 5 month wait after case Complete.

here is the spreadsheet to help shed some light on the matter.

Thanks so much - this is exactly what I am after!

  8. Some visa applications require further administrative processing, which takes additional time after the visa applicant's interview. We were issued a 221(g) along with a CGI form asking for one document and our passport which we dropped off at the GSS center as they requested. They said our Passport would be ready 5 to 10 days. Its been over 10 days no visa, no passport, no word of hope.

Now I understand. I mistook "AP" for advance parole instead of administrative processing. I pray that you all have your visa soon. It has not been denied so that is still good news. Maybe a lawyer can be of help? Either way, I am hoping for the best for you. And what this also tells me is that the visa can be delayed even after the interview so I should not expect an on-the-spot approval or even a one day turnaround. Thank you so much. Wishing you the best.

  9. Our prority date was May 4, 2015. We were in a current status for Sept. 2015. Our case was approved Dec. 7,2015 and forward to Lagos. On Dec. 12th. We received an appointment letter by email for Feb. 4th 2016 at the Lagos Embassy. However we have been in AP since our interview.

I hope this time frame helps or give u an idea.

Nafisakuna, that was very helpful - thank you. But what do you mean by "we have been in AP since the interview"? What are they waiting on and on what basis have they put you on advance parole? Thanks again.

  10. My NVC case has been long completed. I am simply waiting for my priority date to become current in the F2B category. From the looks of the visa bulletin, my date will be current in April 2016.

    1. After your priority date became current (and your NVC case was completed), how long did you have to wait until an immigrant visa interview was scheduled at the US Embassy in Ghana?
    2. Did you get an email, letter or did you have to contact the NVC to find out about the interview date?
    3. Lastly, how long did you have to wait AFTER the interview before your immigrant visa was issued?

Any answers at all would be very helpful regardless of your immigrant visa type. However, if you had an F2B, it would twice as helpful. Thank you in advance :star:
