Are there any sort of programs with which he could come to visit the US? I've already ruled out adoption. Thanks

We would love to help our oldest nephew have a break from life in Managua, Nicaragua. My husband (his paternal uncle) asked how I felt about adopting him so that we could bring him over but to my knowledge that's a very delicate topic in Nicaragua and doesn't seem possible since he still lives with his Mom and younger siblings. He's an ok student but I doubt he'd qualify for a scholarship of some sort. Do we have any options for bringing him over here? I might add that his maternal grandpa just tried to attack the boy with a machete for stealing a few bucks and some clothes from him a few days ago. We told him to not return to his extended family's home a few doors down and to keep his distance and he agreed. We don't know the the paternal grandpa or his character but it sounds like hopefully the attempted assault was just in the heat of the moment but there's no way to know for sure. Anything we can do to get him here? Thanks❤️
