Most of the time for Juarez the cr1/ir1 interviews are from 3 1/2 to 5 weeks after the appt is finally set. As said by Darnell interview set by nvc

I doesn't matter I did the same this past year and that issue never came up and never was a problem. I was told it could affect but I think that's just a rumour

You can go into whatever line you choose it doesn't really matter. But the Mexican citizen line usually moves faster and your US citizen wife can go with you. You will each have an immigration form! There is only one form for customs. Hope this helps and remember to fill both parts of the immigration form. The immigration officer won't fill it out for you.

No you don't make an appointment it's just a walk in appointment. You just have to walk in during regular business hours

From my understanding its the embassies that give the interview slots to nvc so you are at the mercy of the consulate giving up interview slots. But ciudad Juarez is a big consulate and go through a lot ppl every day that's why I think the waiting time for interview in Mexico isn't that long. My wifes interview was about a month out also from case closed.

an RFE is generally not bad in the NVC stage it means that they are looking at your docs as soon as they come in so they can BARK back at you...

I am going to be honest that sort of thing happens you are soo anxious for a case complete and an interview datye se sometimes forget the "little" stuff

I will try to get the details later so your wife doesn't have to waist time at the consulate. My wife went last month wIth her sIs and kinda had an idea how the Juarez consulate works. She saved herself lots of time. She arrived @ 6:30 am and was out by 8:15am.

My Wife left this morning to Juarez!!

Make sure she mentions it at the interview. They should fix the DS-230 for her (or make her do it).

Then, at POE, they review the forms with you, so make sure they have the new address on file.

If the green card is then mailed to the correct address, you've got nothing to do. If it's incorrectly mailed to the old address, then you'll need to contact USCIS and update them, which hopefully it doesn't come to.

Thanks for the info. I sent her a ds230 already filled out but with the old address I sent it to her before moving can she use white out in the appropriate box or will she need to fill out a new ds230?

How does my wife go about changing her address for receiving her green card @ my new place just moved a week ago and her interview is this Monday Aug 6 does she tell the CO or do you do that at POE or can we do that later after receiving her green card my old address is my parents house. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Yeah, I totally understand that! In Mexico mail is also very unreliable! But it's definitely good to have copies, just in case something gets lost. . If he's not going to be there for your interview, you should consider having him scan you the documents.

That makes sense. Because they said on July 2nd they received it but they couldn't tell me that until July 5th. And some operators told me July 5th.

All visas are done through dhl you can pick whatever dhl you want in Mexico even if you request it in ciuda Juarez it will come through dhl and can be the same day or a couple days. You don't have to wait in Juarez if you don't want to.

Oh so I just got this e-mail: the subject was RE: (my affidavit of support package e-mail)

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your correspondence.

We received electronic documentation for this case. Please allow up to 20 business days from the day the email was sent for the scanned attachments to be uploaded to the electronic case file and reviewed.  

IMPORTANT:

Do not let more than one year pass without contacting the NVC concerning this visa petition. If a period of one year passes from the last date of contact (by telephone, mail, or e-mail) with the NVC, all submitted fees and documents expire. If this occurs, the fees must be paid again and documents must be resubmitted in order to continue the immigration process.

As this case is processing electronically, all forms and documents must be sent via email as scanned attachments to NVCElectronic@state.gov .  Sending physical documents to the NVC will delay the processing of your case.

Ok so from what I have read only after your case gets forwarded to the consulate you can request to change your appt. Once there do you call the consulate or email them or both?

Did you get your tracking dhl number from th cas website? If yes you see it today or tomorrow on the dhl website

Its been a great friday the 13th for me I recieved my wifes interview email for AUG 6 @ 7:15 AM today and less than 10 min later i recieved notice that I had been approved for an apartment that I had applied for! Sooo Happy Today. Thanks to the whole Vj Community and especially Saylin I know the journey is not done yet but can see it very close!!!!!!!!!!! Good Luck EVERYBODY!!!!!!

If he becomes a USC he doesn't loose his Mexican citizenship after the oath he we have to reapply for his Mexican passport and he will be all good my mom did that as long as she didn't become a US citizen in the early 90's she was able to regain her Mexican citizenship. If she would of gotten her US citizenship before she wouldn't of but your husband should b fine

Well I'm getting kinda anxious to get my wife's interview date my case has been closed since the 25th of June and nothing yet I hope CDJ and nvc can schedule it soon!

You put that as your wife's social security number as it will be her SSN for the rest of her life! And after she arrives time the US she can get a new card that does not have these words.
