  1. Hi, this is my first real post but I don't think I would have had the success I had getting the K1 visa for my fiancee Milena without reading many posts on this forum. I just wanted to post my experience attending the K1 interview with my fiance in Bogota.

    1. Arrived at embassy 5:45am. There were probably 25 people already in line and we were waiting outside the embassy near the street so we couldn't go to the "official" lines yet.

    2. They allowed us to line up outside the embassy around 6:00am. We all stayed in line 1.

    3. Around 6:15am they announced who should go in which line. It was then we moved to line #3 and we were first in line. IF YOU CAN GET THERE EARLY BEING FIRST MADE A BIG DIFFERENCE

    4. At 6:35am a women came out and asked to see our DS156 form and photo and verified our appt for the day. We checked our cellphones into a cubby with a number and did an X-ray scan of our bags. We entered the premises and another women told us to wait at window #5. Again, we were first in that line too.

    5. At 7:10am a women began processing our paperwork. She asked my fiancee to sign the forms that were unsigned and asked us to organize all our documents in the order she wanted. She asked a few simple questions and was very friendly. This took 10 mins and she then asked us to wait for our name to be called.

    6. 7:20am we got a coffee and pastry that they were selling in the courtyard there. It was very good!

    7. 7:35am we heard our name called on the loud speaker and went to window #2.

    8. A very friendly american did the interview and gave back several papers that he didn't need, e.g. evidence of support like tax returns and so on. He asked my fiancee the following questions (he spoke Spanish clearly):

    - Why did your fiance first visit colombia?

    - What do you do?

    - Does your fiance speak Spanish?

    - What does your fiance do for a living?

    - Were you ever married, do you have kids? Your fiance?

    9. At 7:42am He said we were approved and we got our stuff from security and took a taxi home.

I hope this is useful for someone going through this soon. All I can say is getting their early makes a difference so try to do that.

    Thanks everyone!
