  1. I am so glad your husband feels at home. Getting his drivers license will be like a rite of passage. Are you on Facebook? I am allison moore...amoore_123@yahoo.com

  2. Just today we got our confirmation letters in the mail, saying our first i-130 packet had been dealt with. Do we just wait for instructions now? Do you remember how long it was between sending that in and getting your next instructions. I haven't been on here for awhile so I haven't been in on all the lingo. In fact, Im going to go poking around on the site tonight.

  3. That's awesome! I am so glad you are settling in so well. I called the IRS people in London who were so helpful. I am going to go into the office there in a couple weeks (once HMRC sends me all my figures on paper for the past few years) and that way I can have them 'notorized' in case we get called in for our interview sooner than later.

  4. Hiya! I haven't logged on here for awhile..so I missed your note. I am just waiting for the next instructions to do anything...and I haven't heard a word. But thanks so much for the link. That will be really helpful. I guess you are in the states now. Home Sweet Home. Does it feel great? Bet everyone is thrilled to have you back. How is your husband settling in?

  5. Like you, I have to back file a year or two of taxes. Do you remember the link you used to do that? Or to find the information anyway. Did they ask to see your taxes at the interview? I have been putting it off, but need to get on that this month!

    Thanks!

    Allison

  6. Hello again! And happy new year! Are you still in the UK. Your last note said you were applying for naturalization. I considered that option as well, as I can see the advantage. But at this point, it just seems like so much money! Its going to cost us $4000 just to move, I think...let alone the visa processing fees! Ack!

So have you made your travel plans...

  7. I am under the impression that the London Visa office doesn't need as much proof of marriage as other places a we have all been through the fact and file checking in order to get our leave to remains or naturalizations. Won't be long now...how do his parent's feel about your move?

  8. I do. I miss my friends and family so much. And I miss the feeling of positivity that people just don't seem to have here. But I am sure I will miss things about England too (NHS, for example :)) So nice getting to know someone else who is going through the same process. I just hope it all works out without any hitches for either of us. What state are you returning to? Allison

  9. Oh...I didn't answer you question properly. We met ONLINE...visited back and forth lots of times and then we got married there, and I moved here...

  10. we got married in CA, then I moved here and went back briefly to get my visa interview. It seemed like a much simpler process coming this direction. I think I started the application from there originally. We never lived apart once we were married. Did you? I see a lot of cases like that on here. I'm so glad we are doing DCF. Can you imagine otherwise? How long have you lived in UK?

  11. Thanks for writing back. I am still figuring out where all the comments go...and how to find them. My stepson is nearly 10 so he is kind of in his own world at the moment, but he likes California and is up for it. Its a busy week here so slow going getting things together but my personal deadline for mailing out is next weekend. When is your interview?

  12. Did you back-file your taxes in the end? I am so pleased for you that you are this far along. Not far to go now! I am just starting the i-130 application now. I spent the last week getting my daughter's dual-citizenship sorted. so that is ONE person down! :)

  13. I have been away for a week or so, dealing with OTHER things...time to get back into the swing of things here. How is your visa progress? Seeing the light at the end now?
