  1. I am waiting for my mothers interview to be scheduled in the Philippines.  She is coming over on an IR5.  My mother is 65.  My mother is a housewife with no assets in the Philippines.  My husband and I make 150k a year with only one son.  We can afford to pay her health insurance for her.  Does anyone know how to go about proving to them that we will have insurance for her in 30 days.  We can buy unsubsidized health insurance on the marketplace for her, but they said they would need a social security number.  Also, does my mom have to show she can pay for the insurance, or can we use my husband and I's finances to prove we can pay for the health insurance?

  2. My wife arrived P.O.E Atlanta, 4-22, married 6-22, filed AOS, 7-2.

Received 797 on 7-10, for I-485, EAD and AP.

Letter today from USCIS office in Lee's Summit, MO. ??????

Her bio metrics was taken in our home state of South Carolina (Charleston), 8-7.

Letter was titled, "Notice of Interview Waiver" saying an interview would probably NOT be required.

    Then the strange part.

"Due to work load factors not related to your case, USCIS anticipates a delay in completing your case."

Presently, we anticipate that delay to be approximately 6 months from the date of this letter. (10-16-13) If you do not receive a decision or other notice of action from USCIS by that date please contact our NCSC."

Signed by Robert Cowan, Center Director, USCIS.,.,. BUT was mailed from Lee's Summit, Missouri.,.,. also the letter head address was from Lee's Summit, Missouri.

Has anyone experienced a delay like this on I-485, without it NOT being related to anything we submitted for documentation?

Her file date for AOS was 7-2, received 7-10, and 6 months from now would put us into next April.,.,,how long is all OK, after you file for AOS?

Please, help, somewhat confused and dismayed!

Hi I received the same letter today, and my wife also went through the sputum fiasco in the Philippines. Unfortunately, she was carrying TB and had to go through the treatment. How long did it take for you to get your approval once you received the letter for the possible interview waiver?

  3. My HR director emailed me an employment letter today, but it is a soft copy, not the original. Will the USCIS take a printed version of the employment letter, or should I wait and use the original one that they are mailing me? Thanks.

Also, I already have two employment letters from the past, because I had to petition my wife to come here, and then another one when she went to her interview. The most recent original one I have was from june. I have 6 months of recent paystubs though. Should that saffice, or do I need to waith for the most recent original one as assurance?

I'm thinking it will be fine, what do you think?

  4. Thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately my prior year was a little less, as I was unemployed for a few months. I think I'll be fine though. It is my income YTD. Do you know if the employment letter has to be an original copy with signature? I work for a large organization and they just emailed me a soft copy today. I have to wait for the original employment letter in the mail, but need to get this submitted ASAP because her Visa will expire soon.

  5. Hi,

I currently make an annual salary of 33k plus commissions. My last pay stub shows that I have made 54k YTD. I have printed out 6 months of stubs and I also have a recent employment letter. Should I put the 33k on part 6 question 5 under annual income, or should I put the 54k? My employment letter states that I make an annual salary of 33k plus commisions. I'm confused on what I should put. Also, may I just use my stubs as opposed to the employment letter to show the 54k?

Does anyone know the answer to this?

    Thanks

  6. My fiance took her medical exam at St. Lukes on November 26th and they found a small white spot on her chest x-ray. The doctor told her to come back for the next three days to take the Sputum test. She received negative results from the tests, so we felt pretty good about everything. They told her she needed to wait two more months and to call St.Lukes on Jan 29th for the results. She recieved a call from the nurse today. The nurse said she needed to come in on December 26th to get her results. The nurse would not tell her anything though. From the postings I have read on this, if St. Lukes called her back before the 2 months ended then she would be positive for TB. Does anyone have any idea why they would call her before the 2 months of culture has finished to ask her to come in? I'm thinking it's pretty negative, but praying for the best. Does anyone have any experience with this situation?

  7. This might be a stupid question , but when they say you need to meet 125% of the poverty level, means exactly that you meet the income for number of family members plus add 25% more ?

Please take a look at this. Your fiance would need to qualify at 125% of the poverty level of how ever many dependents he has. This form shows you the guidelines. If he has no dependents, and you are the only one he is petitioning, then he would need to make $18,912.00 a year. He would be supporting himself and you, which is 2 dependents. (as you can see in the chart) The more dependents the more money he would need to make. As you can see if he is supporting 3 people, then he would need to make $23,862.00 a year. Hopefully this helps.

  8. My fiancee' should be scheduling her interview this week in manila. I'm filling out the 1-134 right now to send to her. I just started my job about a month ago. I have a letter from the employer stating exactly what the I-134 instructions asked for. I make 33k a year with the opportunities to make commissions. If I am making more than the poverty level, do I still have to show what I have in my bank? I only have around $1,400.00 in there right now, and really don't want to show that if I don't have to. I have my tax returns showing I made 40k last year as well.

    My questions are:

    1. Being that I just started working this job, do you think I need to show the embassy proof of the other jobs I've worked this year, so they can see what I've made YTD? If so, what do you think I should send them?

    2. Do you think it is necessary to show them what I have in my bank if it's not that much? I am afraid I am giving them to much info, because I should be able to qualify with the letter of employment.

  9. okay got here goes..lol

Bank Payment Process Change: Printed Deposit Slips Required To Pay K Visa Application Fees

Beginning September 3, 2012, K (fiancé(e) and K3) visa applicants are required to present a U.S. visa application deposit slip to pay the K visa fee. Before going to the bank, K (fiancé(e) and K3) visa applicants must print the applicable U.S. visa application deposit slip and take it to the bank to pay the fee.

There is an expiration date on the deposit slip. Bank agents will NOT accept payments based on expired deposit slips. Upon payment, the bank will issue a receipt. This receipt cannot be replaced. Applicants will not be able to schedule an appointment without the receipt number.

For complete instructions and to print the deposit slip, please visit our online appointment website. To obtain more information about this requirement, please call the Embassy Call Center at 982-5555 and 902-8930, available from Monday to Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m

Thanks so much for your help Fight for Love. I appreciate it so much. I had a couple other quick questions for you. When my mother is submitting an I-134 and an 1-864, am I required to live at the same address she does? I do not live with her. Also, before my mother fills out anything, she wants to be guaranteed she is not legally responsible for her. I am pretty sure that she would only be responsible for paying back any wellfare that my fiancee would accumulate. Is that correct? She also wants me to send her statements from a trustworthy source showing exactly what she would be responsible for. Do you know where I could get that info, explaining exactly what the co-sponser is responsible for? Maybe there is a link or something that you could refer me to.

  10. are you talking about the NOA2?? if yes, you could extent that by simple emailing/calling/sending letter to the embassy.

after your visa fee that's the ONLY time you set up an inteview..

NOA2 expired after 4months since it was approved by the USCIS.

Visa expired after 6months since the embassy issue it

i will bring both...but USEM-Manila usually approved co-sponsor by using the I-864.

wow, I did not realize there was a Visa fee. I already paid for the 1-29F petition fee that the USCIS wanted, which was $340.00. Do you know what the Visa fee is?

  11. Have your mom's I-134 as a back up to present at the interview. If she's not needed, great you over prepared. If she is needed, great you avoid the delay of having to get her info after the interview.

Thanks for your reply...the other person on the thread who replied to my post said to use the 1-864 instead of the 1-134. Should I send in both? I'm a little confused on which form needs to be sent in for the co-sponser at the embassy in Manilla.

  12. don't worry about it...find a job...you have more time.(usually they base it on your income last yr.)

you could able to use co-sponsor...but make sure they will submit I-864 affidavit of support instead of I-134...recently someone just got approved using co-sponsor in the philippines embassy

Thanks for your reply. The only reason I worry, is because the petition approval expires on 12/30/2012, so I didn't know if that meant she had to leave the Philippines by then, or that's how long we have to get the interview set up. Do you know what the expiration refers to? thanks.

  13. On August 31st 2012, my petition to bring my fiancee from the Philippines to the US was approved. On August 30th, I was laid off from my job. I have already made 18,000 this year in income and should hopefully have an offer letter by the end of this week, after they check my references. Last year I made 40k. I am in sales and have had a rocky employment situation for the past couple of years, but have always managed to make much more than 18k each year. Supposedly, it will take them a month before the US embassy in the Philippines receives my case, so that gives me a little time to get a job, get a couple of pay stubs, and send that info to my fiancee. I have heard that the Philippines is harsh on Co-sponsers from what I have read on this site. Do you think it will benefit my case if I use my mother as a co-sponser with my income. She is a retired teacher making around 50k. Unfortunately neither of us have much of any assets to prove. I think I can get approved on my own, but question the fact that I've had 2 jobs already this year and a third on the way. Can anyone tell me if it will benefit me to use my mothers income as well, or if I can?
