  1. Having Been here for a few years doing some livelihood projects, etc, I think I can offer the following:

Wells Fargo can send directly to BPI ( But I use BDO ). You need feet on the ground in the USA to initiate the first sending ( a $1 test). You will need bank account name, number, and bank swift code, etc. Afterwards, just log onto wells fargo and send to another account ( internationally)... No escaping the fees like before, tho I don't know why.

If your here for awhile and want some US Dollars... You can go to Bank of Commerce... and open a dollar account in your name ( and a peso account if you desire)... Put in a few hundred dollars and you should be good...

Now heres where its nice to do this... If your going to be here for awhile, use your wells fargo, checkbook and write a check to yourself to deposit into the account. You have to wait 21 working days... (YES 21 work days like Monday thru Friday..plus a few extra maybe), but you get US dollars,,,, and Zero costs for transferring.

Careful you don't send too much... The IRS has a financial cap that your allowed for international accounts, without foreign banks being required by international law for reporting back to them and having to pay very high penalties ( horror stories abound) ... but... Its a money laundering prevention kinda thing... But all in all,,, you get financials in US Dollars, and no fees just a long wait)

    Happy Banking :P

My sister has agreed to be the co sponsor for my wife, a Philippine Citizen, her son, also a Philippine Citizen, and her daughter, a Philippine Citizen as well. My sister is alone. She said that she wants me to fill out the paper work and send that to her. For the required income she would need to cover three people and herself, YES,  for example of income guidelines go to : https://www.uscis.gov/i-864p  and so how much income does she need to qualify? (It depends on you and any income or assets. Example If you have $20,000 annual income as in a retirement for example You can offset her requirement with any income you have... hence joint sponsorship)  If she does not have enough income to qualify can she combine income and assets, or does it need to be one or the other? (YES/// IF you are doing IR1, its times 3 the difference, IF CR1 its times 5 any difference in your annual income) Does she need to furnish an IRS Return and W-2s for each one. In other words does she need to furnish three IRS Returns and W-2s? (Yes, just IRS Returns, You can fill out the I-864 for her, she will need to sign, and you will need her Original signature, when submitting)  Do I need to complete an Affidavit of Support, I-864 for each of them, my wife, and her two children? YES Do I download this form, fill it out for each one, and then mail them to my sister for her to complete, sign, and return to me? (You are best to fill these out) I am confused about exactly how I should go about that. I need to do it correctly because the Visa Processing fees are so expensive, and after spending all that money I need to have the Visas approved. Thank you so much for any help you can give me on this. (Best advice is to complete 1 form at a time... and one for each of them... Print a personal copy to look over and over again so your absolutely sure its all correct and Save them as PDF's for emailing when you have everything together for her to sign. Use FB Messenger to have her pass info to you, so your the one doing the paperwork. Another bit of  Advice: check form dates (some are obsolete yet still online, example: ,,, as I-864 is newer Feb 2017 form now... also you will need I-864A instead of the G-325A completed for wife only and G-325A's for the kids).. Don't let this worry you.. start with the I-130 for each of them ... and work it from there. God Bless and Regards...

  3. Congrats !!!!!!

In a simple sentence: Once the NOA2 is approved it goes off to the NVC who in turn sends it to the USEM Manila where u will get a MNL Case number assigned.

Right now is the "busy" time for you AND your fiancee because you have to make sure you have all the documents from each of you.. Best bet is to follow the K1 instructions from the embassy web site.. The first link are instructions from the embassy's site. They dont send them via mail.

  4. This is where we made our "incorrect decision" .. In hindsight I would have rushed her and the kids to get a SSAN as soon as they arrived. We waited until after the church approval and wedding, and then were turned down because we were too close to the 90 day expiration of the visa. Not having one has added a bit more difficulty in things. So YESSSS go get a SSAN as soon as possible.. !!! ( i wish we had)

  5. Hi ..

My fiancee (now wife) and her children came to the US in November 2012. It took until the end of december for us to complete our pre-marriage counseling seminars with our church before we could be married within our religion. The week after our wedding, we went to the Social Security office to apply for social security cards. We recieved mail later on that stated the Social security Office was unable to issue cards because it was too close to the expiration date of the K1 visa.

From what I am reading, it seems that we have to now wait until the adjustment of status is completed. Is this correct ?

Thanks for reading and for any input to this question.

  6. great info... for inquiring minds ( like mine) :) thanks all :)

There is no requirement to file the adjustment of status within a specified time period.

Also, talk to the priest now to make sure that your marriage occurs before the 90 days are up. Other VJ members have had the process altered to comply with the 90 day requirement. Day 91 marriage = big, big problems.

  7. Everything said here is sooo sooo true... !!!!!!!

Where is the USC Petioner in this process??? What is the USC telling you?? I find it really amazing the number of Benifactors that come here for help on their own. I applaude them for doing so, however the USC should be here on VJ DAILY!!!. The USC has to be the LEAD DRIVER imho. All the answers are HERE on VJ, emails, phone numbers, escalations processes, Congressman/woman, Case numbers, tracking numbers, Ect...

You should not and do not have to go through this ALONE. Yes some USC are more PROACTIVE than others.

Sunshine and I are on VJ DAILY for HOURS each and every day since March 2012.

This is nearly a Partime job!!! The Amount of effort put into this is equal to the amount of results you get out of this. If you think you just start the process and the GOVT will finish this on Auto-Pilot then you are sadly misinformed. It has to be (YOU & HIM/HER) vs (2 Governments) and VJ is your seceret weapon!

That is amazing! These posts make me smile! Good luck in your new life and thank you so much for your words of encouragement. I needed to see this!:thumbs::dance:

Thank you all ... I think if i dont get some sleep, i will be the one with jet lag, not them hahahahaha

  9. What a remarkable Journey this has been. Fiancee and 2 of the 3 kids are enroute to the USA. Arrival 03 Nov 0830 am.. I dont know if I will be able to sleep at all!!!!

From 02/06/12 to 11/03/12 is what our Visa Journey took to make it happen.

From real "friends" since 2009 to deciding to see where it would go in 2010, commiting in 2011, and making it happen in 2012, its been not only a testament of our ability to handle "trials" but to staying focused and keeping the faith in one another. It wasnt an easy task to sponsor one person let alone have to go thru the paperwork for four. Without the fellow members of VJ, I couldnt have made this all come together,

Thank You.... Visa Journey Members for all your help, advice and fellowship

Today marks the beginning of a great many things.

I will still follow VJ feeds as we still have one child to complete getting here (and Im sure I will ask advice) ... But again Thank YOU all ... and I hope this lets you share the smile were smiling now... For those just starting or close to finishing... Its a wonderful feeling..
