A welcome to America should be in the mail in about 2 weeks of your arrival and your green cars will follow up in and 2 weeks so you will get in about a month.if you applied for the social security card alongside with your immigrant visa it should be in the mail about 2 weeks of entering the States.sometimes the ssn card doesn't come along and you will have to wait for your green card to apply for it personally.They don't accept the temporary I 551 stamp on the passport to process ssn and driver license .they do scan your actual green card to determine the authenticity.

When is likely for CR1 to get Social Security Number and Green Card upon arrival to the US?

@WinnieGeorge, I am talking out of experience. Mine had expired at the time of my interview. Per CR1, as soon as all original documents are turned in and are valid at the time NVC make request, no cause for alarm at the interview.

If NVC has requested and received her police report within the valid 3months you have no problems.

Hello Everyone, our case is at NVC stage case number generated. I need help on the following questions:

1) I sent an email to NVC using the email option for DS-3032 and I equally sent them the hardcopy of DS-3032 form (Choice of Address and Agent Form). I hope that will not complicate things;

2) Do we send original hard copies of documents to NVC by regular mail?

Hello Everyone, I need help in this regard. Q12 of DS-230 Form says Present Occupation. At the moment, I am unemployed. Does that have any adverse effect on my application?

Hello Everyone, we are at the NVC stage and I am trying to send my DS-230 form ahead to my spouse but on the form it says Expires: 04/30/2012. Does that mean the form has expired? Or do I just ignore and send it as it is. Please your help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
