I guess Orlando has weekly oath ceremonies because I saw another applicant scheduled for next Friday.

Did they have passport application service?

We were given big white envelopes with number of forms, a flag, letter from the President, Declaration of Independence booklet and such included. The only people out there were voter registration people from Orange County.

Did you have your oath ceremony? How did it go? Did it start @ 7 am?

Thanks for asking proyes. I've been trying to log into vj since Friday and have been locked out until few minutes ago for reasons unknown. Numerous password recoveries did nothing.

The ceremony was very quick but it did not start at 7 (no surprise there). We were still going through the security line @7:30. The ceremony started @8:15 and we were done in 15 minutes. 83 candidates for naturalization (as they called us ) were present. The officiating people emphasized number of times that we cannot linger in the room as they have another 5 ceremonies to go through that day so I was really pleased that I was in the first round. Never bothered to ask if that means Orlando has once a week ceremony day on Friday or if it's once a month. Since Orlando is sooooo out of the processing times, I wouldn't be surprised if the ceremony if done once a month but that's just speculation on my part. Unfortunately, there was only one set of flags set out in the entrance hall for picture taking with a huge crowd waiting for the photo opportunity, that we just filled in my voter registration and left.

Glad all this is over and done with now.

Good luck nyla on your interview. You'll ace it so don't worry about it.

The oath ceremony letter arrived yesterday. Scheduled for June 7th @ 7 am. Somehow I doubt the ceremony will start that early....probably they just want to get all of us through the security in time for 9 o'clock.

Thanks for the support poyes and mozplay. There can't be all that many people reading November board any longer .

I had another text message yesterday afternoon. No change on the website but when I finally opened my email, I found out that the first text related to the first email they sent me advising me that they've put me in line for oath scheduling. There was also 2nd email (relating to the later text message) to tell me that they've sent me a letter with oath ceremony date. That must be the shortest government line I was ever in . I'll likely receive the letter tomorrow so I'll keep you posted. Just hope the ceremony is not this Friday! Do you know how much time they usually give you between receiving the letter and the oath ceremony itself?

Any update on your online status since interview?

Well, I received a text this morning that my case has been updated but when I checked on USCIS website, no change, not even that decision has been made. Still in testing and interviewing stage. So now I don't know if they've notified me that the final decision has been made or that they've sent me an Oath ceremony letter.

Since I was already checking, I looked for Orlando processing times and they've increased to 8.3 months!!! So for all I know, I could have a ceremony in August and still be within their processing times. The mind boggles.....

I read about Oath Ceremony letter being being handed out after the interview too (I think in August thread) but that hasn't been the case when I was there yesterday. During the 50 minutes that I waited to be called in, number of people came out and none of them waited. Some were men, some were women, some looked happy, some not so much . But nobody set down and waited. The interviewing officer specifically said to wait for the letter in the mail, 15 - 30 days. So I'll have to wait and see. I'm an old pro at waiting by now

Thanks mozplay on good wishes for the interview.

It was all very anticlimactic. I spent 50 minutes waiting for the interview and was done with it within 15 minutes tops. I brought along all the evidence, a bag full, and the only thing he asked me for was my green card and passport. It was all so quick that I now feel almost cheated . Almost . Apparently, I'll be getting my oath ceremony letter within 15 to 30 days but I'm not holding my breath for it to arrive in that time frame. Everything seems to be moving very slowly in Orlando .

Nyla, I had to wait for my interview letter for over 4 months. Didn't bother with infopass or contacting the senator as I was in no hurry. Currently, processing times for Orlando are 7.9 months, which is still longer (amazingly) than it's for the NYC!!!! I know this waiting is annoying but try to be patient. You and all of us have already come a looong way. Hopefully, you'll get the letter really soon. Wishing you all the best.
