  1. If income is sufficient, sounds like it is is, leave the asset information blank. They need your most recent tax return (2011 or 2010) either a transcript (you can have faxed to you) or a copy of the most recent return with your w-2s attached. Also attach some recent paycheck stubs, and a few months bank statements, That should be enough

Thanks everyone for the help. I will have to pool all of this paperwork together tonight since tomorrow I leave to Belarus for work. (well, so I tell my bosses)

I appreciate all the input and advice. My eyes were simply shot last night after all the reading and being on the verge of a cold.

Ok, thanks again y'all and I'm off to the airport to MSQ! :)

    Cheers,

    M@

  2. Good evening all,

So my Fiancee and I will be going to Warsaw in the month of March to do her interview. (I may or may-not make it there, depends on work.) Anyhow, I've been reading all over today and my eyes are bleeding now; so I figure that I'd just ask a few burning questions.

In essence, for those of you who did their interview in Warsaw from Belarus... I have the I-134 form and am in the process of completing it. I've heard each location is different with requirements and such... therefore I'd love to know. What did the embassy ask for proof with the I-134? For me I can easily print out copies of the past 3 years of my W2s. It's not easy to get the entire tax returns printed though.

Just curious what all you guys had to bring as proof that you're not going to leave your other half in the food-stamp line? Also, is there an actual requirement or magic number they look for in terms of income? Say if I make $40k a year...is this enough? And what about assets? If I make say $80k a year for the past i dunno...let's say the last 4 years... should I include assets that are less than $10k in value? (Just an example, of course. Wish I made $80k)

Let's see, other questions that are cooking my noodle... I have all of my original documents that I received NOA1 and NOA2, letter from the NVC saying that they have our file, and things like that. Should all of this go to my woman in Belarus before the interview? or are scanned copies sufficient?

Anyhow, I'm just acting nervous about this because I am! :) It's huge to be so close and yet so far. Would love to hear stories about your experiences in Warsaw, especially if your Fiancee is from Belarus.

Ok, going to go close my eyes for a bit. All this reading made me feel like I was back in school again.

    Cheers all!

  3. Wow, smoking hot day today! So I've been entertaining family for over a week and ignored my mailbox for a bit. Well as luck would have it, I called USCIS last week and they had no news for me. (My case number doesn't work in their system.) Anyhow, opened the mail and found the NOA2!

    APPROVED!

    Thank God :) :) :) :) :)

So then I look at the date and it's already more than a week old. Called the NVC and they just got my case today. Nice lady over the phone gave me my case number and we're off!

Wow, my hat is off to everyone here who has helped as well as contributed to the wealth of information.

Good luck to everyone on their journey and my God, this is just intense! What a wild ride)

    Cheers,

  4. Thanks all for the wishes! It's a nutty process that is full of highs and lows. Being a bit of a control freak; this whole quiet part drives me nuts :( Waiting is painful but sooooo worth it :)

Right now I am still nervous about the process; but all of your input makes me feel "not so alone" out here. +1 for all of your help guys and gals! God Speed to everyone!

Off to bed and gladly marking yet another day into the past. One more day closer to being together :) :) :)

    Cheers,

    M@

  5. Hello all,

Well It's been a lot of work; but we got our forms completed and sent in.

I-129F received by lockbox on 10/26/11

    USCIS Acceptance Confirmation 10/31/11

    Paper copy (Form I-797) 11/9/11

Please wish us luck and a million thanks for all the great help, guidance, and good vibes from everyone here. This is really a journey to remember and man am I a ball of nerves :)

We do have a question though, how long generally will it take before our "receipt number" will work with the USCIS website? I keep getting a "not valid / not-found" error. Is this common?

Excited, scared, and just totally jazzed... wow... I hope to be married soon :) :) :) :)

    Cheers,

    M@

  6. Greetings all,

I am going through and filling out the G-325A and related forms and have some questions about little details that I am second guessing myself on...

For starters, my Fiancee... her middle name is one character too long to fit in the box while typing it. What's the best thing to do? Add an additional page and state her middle name there or just hand write it in there?

In terms of dates of marriage and divorce, should I put the month and year then the state? For example, married 11/2004 VA or what? If I try to spell it all out, there is no way it fits in the space provided...

Same question for employer... I can fit the company name and street address but not city, state, and zip... should I fill this in the space below?

I know it all seems pretty weak, but I don't know what the best thing to do is. Second guessing my thoughts because it's so important to me :)

    Thanks all and warmest regards,

    Matt

  7. Hello everyone!

My name is Matthew and I've just dropped the question to my GF! She said yes; and now I am excited and terrified all at the same time :) Now I don't want to clutter this forum with my romance story or details...unless y'all are interested. ;) I surely don't mind talking but it may be painful to read since I've been told that I can be "wordy" and should write novels. Anyhow, my Fiance is from The Republic of Belarus and I am from the USA, both single and able to be married...and all that good stuff. Well we met for the first time over a year ago and I've been to Belarus some 5 times since. This last trip earlier in the month I proposed and she accepted...thusly here I am, or shall I say here we are!

So the first questions that come to mind, and I have been using the "search" and reading the pinned sections....well the questions are:

On the i-129F there is a question "Describe the circumstances under which you first met"... Okay, so the first time I met my girl was just a brief introduction from a mutual friend at a pizza joint. I was dating someone else at the time and so was she... it wasn't until some months later that we actually began our relationship. My question is if I should describe our first date... or the first time we literally met... or what?

Also, about 7 years ago my fiance was in the usa doing a work exchange program. She got a SSN back in the day; but I don't know if it is still valid or if we should put it on the application. It was a long time ago and I am not sure if it has some sort of expiration date or what.

Going back to her stay in the USA, she overstayed her visa by 2 weeks. Back then she was just barely 20 and had no idea of the impact. I wasn't sure if this was a big deal or if this could really hurt our chances of getting married her in the states. Not sure if anyone here has had such an experience, but I'd love to know what's the word on this :)

Finally, are there a lot of folks here that have married someone from Belarus? I'd love to hear about your stories if you are willing to share!

Thanks all and hope to get to share more of our story as time goes forward.

    Cheers and best regards,

    Matt
