  1. I received a response from the Bogota Embassy this morning.. Here are the fist two paragraphs:

Thank you for your inquiry. We have not yet received this case from the National Visa Center. Often, the applicant is notified of the petition approval before we are but unfortunately, we cannot act upon a case until we have received it from the NVC. We will contact you with instructions as soon as the case arrives at the embassy.

Bogotá's Immigrant Visa (IV) Unit schedules appointments as they become available. Generally, appointments are scheduled within two to three months of receiving a case from the NVC. We use an automatic appointment system and unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate requests outside of this system.

Pretty much what I expected - if they ran around and met everyones whim that is all they would do.. but I had to try :) OK, I'm switching modes for real now.. Push this back and not watch things closely for a few weeks.

I received a similar response this morning: (Email Response from the Embassy.)

consider contacting the National Visa Center, NVC, for information on the possible processing period of this case, depending on its priority date.

If I can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.
