That was the same for me. Check your status on the account you created for the interview. It will let you know the DHL tracking information.

Thank you for the response
.
From what I am reading, it sounds like you were in her interview. I thought we weren't allowed in together? Or did I misread that first paragraph?
Thanks again for the response!
Yes, I was at her interview. Only the applicant is allow in the Consulate. I waited outside for her. After about 2 hours or so, she came out with a blue slip of paper with a sad face. It stated that the interviewer wanted to speak with me. I am glad that I was there. The interviewer did not believe our relationship. He based this because he asked if her father approved of our relationship. Her father was against our marriage. It is not traditional. Well, he wanted to interview me also. He also asked, what is my favorite food and other simple relationship question.

This is based on my experience.
1. Her interview will be in Spanish. My wife (then fiancee) was in Spanish. But when he wanted to speak with me because there were some doubts about our relationship, he spoke English. He mentioned that he was from NY also. I think he might have been testing me.
2. Once approved and processed, it will go out immediately. I am assuming that DHL is a super fast courier like FedEx. We waited for her visa in Juarez. Our interview was on Tuesday morning. By Thursday (lunchtime) I checked the website and it was at the DHL office. I think most likely your fiancee will get it by then. But don't buy any plane ticket before getting the visa in hand.
3. Once she gets the visa, she can cross the border. She does not have to go back to Juarez. At the Port of Entry (POE)(airport or border), USCIS will process her visa. My fiancee's packet had the land crossing written on it. It stated which bridge to take to cross into El Paso if we walked across. It costed $6 (September 2011) at the El Paso border to process the visa. Mexico charged for leaving the country. I can't remember exactly. But I think it was 6 Pesos for each person.
I hopes this helps you. Congratulations and good luck.

I traveled from NY to Mexico City to meet my fiancee. I explored the option to fly into Juarez from NY and meet her there. She had never been in a plane before and scared so I scrapped that idea. I also looked into flying to El Paso then crossing over the border. That was scrapped because of the same reason.
The difference was that going to El Paso is a domestic flight than going to Juarez. When I checked it was much cheaper to go into El Paso.
Try going on the airlines' websites to compare prices and schedules. Some flight have limited schedules. I wanted to travel during daytime hours, not too early and not too late. I used Orbitz.com. But there are other sites out there.
I hope this helps.

I applied for a K-1 visa and my wife(then fiancee)had her interview in the morning (Tuesday). She got her visa on Thursday. I found out by lunchtime. I kind of doubt you would get your visa the same day. Usually it will take a few hours after the interview to process your application. Your interview most likely would not be at 8:15 am. That's the time you will enter the Counsulate. Then go through security and wait in an open-air waiting room. Then go and wait in the inside waiting room until your interview. That's about a few hours. So, once approved, it would be entered into the website to let you know it is ready. Then delivered to the DHL office.
That was our experience. I think it might be the same process for your type of visa. I hope this helps you.

My wife (fiancee then) did not get any letter. I got it. Then I called Juarez and the representative said I can start making my appointment. It didn't take long after my appilcation left NVC to get to Juarez. It was about two days at Juarez when they told me it's ready.
I then quickly made her appointments and scheduled my trip to Mexico.

Hmmm.
I'm in the same boat. I filed the AOS in mid-December 2011. My AOS was transferred to California in January 2012. I didn't think much about it. Strangely my boss was doing a K-1 also. His was also transferred to California. Then sent to Missouri. Soon after, USCIS gave him an interview in Philadephia. His wife got her greencard a few weeks ago. That made me worried because he applied for his AOS early this year.
I called USCIS 1-800-375-5283 to ask about my wife's AOS. The representative asked me where is the nearest USCIS office by me. She said that the AOS is beyond the processing time and refer my case to the local office. They should send me a status within 15 days. If not, I should call back with the confirmation number she gave me.
I would recommend that you give them a call. It would not hurt.

Gather your supporting documents such as photos, receipts, evidence to show your relationship and so on. Keep these document in an organizer. Also, start planning your trip to Juarez. Research hotels, airline/bus schedule and other trip information. Decide on waiting for your visa at Juarez or having it sent to another DHL office. Get a calendar and blackout the holidays, Counsulate closure dates or other dates that will affect your stay in Juarez. I would recommend making your appointment near the beginning of a work week so you would not waste time waiting over the weekend.
Good luck!

Thanks Jay-Kay. I love this forum where we can share information. I hope everyone can benefit from so much experiences.

I could not find anything that states there is a limited time to file an Adjustment of Status. But I think there is an implied time frame.
"the fiancé(e) visa (or K-1 nonimmigrant visa) allows your fiancé(e) to enter the United States for 90 days so that your marriage ceremony can take place."
Once you are married, you can apply for an AOS. Until your spouse is approved for an AOS he is still considered an nonimmigrant. After I got married, I called USCIS to ask what's the deadline. The representative did not give an exact answer. He recommended that I file for an AOS before the K-1 visa expires. The USCIS states, "Once you marry, your spouse can apply for permanent residence and remain in the United States while we process the application."
This statement sounds like there is no intended extension of the 90 days just because you got married. So, your spouse might be considered "out of status" if he stays. If he gets sent back, then that makes it more complicated because you are now married and must apply to bring him back as a spouse.
I think once you apply for the AOS and recieve an I-797C, Notice of Action, it will stop the clock on the K-1 visa's expiration date. It might be best to apply before the expiration date. For me, it was a long process to apply for her K-1 visa. I just didn't want to screw up after all that effort.
This is my interpretation of the rule. Maybe someone else out there has more facts.

Absolutely do not leave the country. His visa is only a one-time use. Once he leaves, then you would have to apply to bring him here as a spouse. After getting married, apply for work authorization, advance travel document, social security card, bank account and so on, if you hadn't already. But most importantly, apply for his adjustment of status. You have a limited time to do so.
I hope this helps you.

It is her Social Security number for life. It was assign to her by SSA. Once she gets her Work Authorization, then you can have SSA issue her a new card without that restriction. All it means is that she cannot use it to work. You can use it for tax purpose like being a dependant. Apply for her work authorization. Use her SSN on all documents that requires you to fill out an SSN.
ITIN has a different order of numbers. For example SSN is XXX-XX-XXXX.
I hope this helps.

The K-1 visa lets you marry your fiance in the U.S. As a requirement, both of you must be free to marry in the U.S. I believe that your marriage has nothing to do with Mexico. As long as your fiance has the final divorce decree and all other requirements, then you can apply for the K-1 visa. Please confirm this by checking the Department of State and USCIS websites. Both sites explain the requirements.

You cannot file I-129F if you are married. It is for a fiance visa.

I did the same for my wife. We filed all three forms together. They gave us a NOA and I keep checking the case status on the website. They also moved my case to California. I checked the other case number for the EAD and AP. The website stated it was ordered. We got it about a week later. The card has both EAD and AP. We used it to get her Social Security card. I request an extension to file our taxes just because she didn't have an SS number.
Read the card carefully, check for errors. My wife's card had the wrong effective date and her name was spelled wrong.
We had to request a correction and mail it back with our marriage certificate. This process to about 2 months to get the new card.

I used a 3-metal ring zippered binder with clear plastic pocket folders. It worked well and my fiancee had no problems getting into the Consulate. Your wife will have to go through a metal detector. But that's okay because she will need to put her stuff in a plastic bin similar to the airport. I place the documents in an order of importance. The first document was the ones they will ask for first like the confirmation page. Then the rest. If you do this, then she would not fumble around to find any document the interviewer ask for. You can also use tabs to find the document very quickly. Be prepare and she will look confident.
Good Luck!
I did not staple. I used paper clips.

That is strange. His medical exam is for the current application (I-130). Maybe there is a misunderstanding. Even so, 8 years is too long to use any results. Maybe he should ask the supervisor or go to the other medical clinic. They are both near the Consulate.
-
To be very sure. Take a look at the ASC store front window. All the information is posted. You can also ask the security guard for guidance. He will be able to assist you.
-
Don't listen the the coyotes at all. They are there to make money. The ASC confirmation page is what she needs. The bar code has all her information on file. All the ASC appointment is for to take pictures and finger printing. Tell you wife to get there about 1:30 pm. The ASC will ask the applicants to form a line just before her appointment. They will post the time for the appointment which is being served.
Good luck.

It might be hard to do. But try to get plenty of sleep.
Be rested and confident.

When we got there just before 6:00 am, there were about 16 people on line already (outside). The line got longer fast after we were on line. Then we were taken to the next clinic because they wanted to balance the work. I saw people already inside the building.
-
I think 6:00 am is okay. It doesn't matter much to be first in line. If you get there too early, it might not be safe. Also, you do not have to wake up super early. If you get there at that time, you should be finished by lunchtime.

Hmmm...USCIS makes mistakes too. My wife got her EAD and travel card wrong. I called and placed a service request. I had to send the card back with our marriage certificate. Check your application to see if you filed under the correct name. You can call them and try to correct it. The number is on the letter that came with your card. It doesn't hurt to try. If you don't correct it now, you will have more problems in the future.
Good luck!
Medical Exam in Juarez
in Mexico, Latin & South America
Posted
Hello Tom,
The second medical clinic is Servicios Medicos. In my posting from September 19, 2011 at 12:35 pm, I included pictures of the places. The second medical clinic is next to CMI.
Please look at the photo of the ASC. The website is www.usvisa-info.com and is on the front entrance of the ASC. I believe this was how I made the appointment for the finger printing. I scheduled the appointment based on our interview at the Consulate. This is the sequence. First it was the medical exam in the morning. Then ASC finger printing appointment in the afternoon. The next day was the interview at the Consulate. The day of the interview, you will need to go back to the same area of the ASC. But it's at the corner where you enter the plaza. It's called the Consulado (See photo from previous posting.). You will check-in there before your interview. Then they will escort you to the Consulate for your interview. All is a short walk from the Consulate, the ASC, medical clinics, Denny's, Wendy's, shopping mall and hotels. They are all on the same road.
I would recommend to get a hotel room within walking distance from the Consulate. It works well to rest and eat between appointments. Also, don't schedule all on one day. Plan on waiting. We got out of the ASC fast because we had to return to the medical clinic for the results before it closed. The person at the ASC let my "then" fiancee go ahead of the line.
I hope this helps. Good luck.
