thats so sad. i hate hearing things like this.

Yeah. Will you do me a favor send me whatever else he sent you on Syria so I may have a look at them please?
he sends them to my cell phone. i will have to figure how to send them here. give me a few minutes.

I know what ur going through Debbie. Ive been there too. If u wanna talk let me know.

See that's part of the reason why I post these article here. To provide information you may not seek otherwise and to raise the level of awareness on what is happening in the region, because it affects our lives too with being married into these families. I have also found that discussing these issues with our SO's provides a level a dialogue with them that we may not have had otherwise. We develop an insight into what is going on with them internally as they are certainly feeling the affects, and it brings us closer to them intimately because we're able to talk to them about it and they are free to discuss it with us if they need to.
Here is a good 11 minute video package published recently about the horrors happening in Homs.
my husband sent me this one. funny u found the same one.

I know from reading reports that some members of his army have turned on him but you are for the most part correct. From my understanding it is basically one tribe against all the tribes. The main general carrying out these strikes is Assad's own brother.
see u know more about syria then i do. i didnt know assads brother was involved. i guess i should educate myself more.
-
yeah something has to be done. if syria had oil im sure they would have sent forces already. we tend to help those who have some kind of value to us. too bad his own army wont turn on him and wipe him off the face of the earth. that would solve the whole thing if he had no backing. u know his army probably dont care about him either but thats their boss and they have to do what the boss says.

Yeah you're probably right. He started and finished Libya and also nabbed Osama Bin Laden damn him. lol
And he got us out of Iraq and is finishing getting us out of Afghanistan next year. Dont forget that.
i am also thankful for the auto industry bailout as I work for GM. I would be sitting unemployed now with 19 years of service behind me if he wouldnt have agreed to bail them out.

I agree with you. I think it's a crock that we condemn China and Russia for the UN Security Council veto when we all know we can easily go in there and put a stop to this and help these people from being slaughtered. We took matters into our own hands before like with Iraq and had less of a reason for going into there as we do now. Perhaps they are more concerned about winning another election right now?
it could very well be a election thing. who wants to spend more money. people have already hated obama for spending money on getting our country back on track and they would really scream if he started a war.

God Donna I am so sorry. I am at a loss for words of what to say to this. You were married in the city of Homs which is under the worst siege and your husbands family is in Damascus which has also seen terrible fighting. Is this family ok? How is your husband handling it? It must be very difficult for you both. Again I am so very sorry. It is horrible what is happening to civilians there, especially the innocent children.
His family is ok. Thanks for asking. My husband is worried of course. This is his homeland being demolished and kids and woman being killed. He has never liked Assad or his regime. I think his brother's did like them but things have changed since killing of innocent civilians has happened.

I just watched the video that was posted. Its ashame that we will send aid and the syrian people will probably not recieve any of it. If they do they wont know it was from the United States.

Thanks for posting about Syria. My husband is a doctor from there. He has been here for over 8 years and sends me videos daily. They are the most horrible thing i have ever saw. Kids with their jaw blown off and legs hanging on by only skin. These kids will die because there is no doctor to help them.
Thank God his family is in Damascus where there isnt much fighting. But he does say daily things are getting worse and worse there.
We did get married in Homs and I feel sad to see this is whats going on there.
He was going to go home in January but since things are getting worse he hasnt made the trip.

Just stopping in to say hi to everyone. It seams like its been ages. I see alot of new faces and a few old ones.
My husband and i have called it quits after 7 years. he has been cheating on me for about 3 years now from what i can tell. i felt him disconnecting from me and my family after he got into the residency program. i put up with his bad moods for so many years. he moved to florida last year and thats when i figured everything out. strange it took 1000 mile seperation to find out everything when it was happening even when he was living with me.
i cried for the last two months and was so confused of why this all happened. now im on depression pills and i just dont care why it happened now.
i wish you all good luck with your journeys. ill stop in from time to time to check up on u all.

Just stopping in to say HI everyone. Its been a while.
My husband is coming home on the 27th for a week. Cant wait. Hopefully there will be no snow storms that week to delay his flights.
-
Just stopping in to say HI. I rarely come to visit anymore. Between working 7 days a week and playing my games on FB I forget about VJ.

Congratulations to both Olivia and Jackie. Its smooth sailing now for at least 2 years 9 months!!!
I think sometime next month Hassan will finally file for his citizinship. He should have been a citizen already but I think you all rememeber he got held up 3 years on the green card. Im still mad about that.
-
Thanks Ricardo.
Hi Sand, Yeah, you and my husband got the green card at the same time. I remember. I cant wait to finish all of this. We just had our 7th anniversary last month. Its time to be done!!!
-
Finally we are nearing the finish line. Within the next month or so we will be filing the papers to naturalize my husband. It's been a long journey for sure.
How long from the time you send the papers until the test/interview and what every else they do?
Do I have to be at the interview with him?
I really haven't done much looking into things so Im just starting out with this. Please help.

It's a dreary day here in northeast Ohio.
I'll go to my parents house and spend the day as usual. Just hanging out and relaxing.
Oh yes, the wonderful old usmle videos....boring!!! Hassan takes his board exams Aug. 26 and as usual hasnt studied. Some things never change.

I dont have a similar story but one of the opposite one.
I keep getting things in the mail about fasting and sending money during Ramadan to differnt places. I am not muslim so these mailings mean nothing what so ever to me. How i got on these mailing lists is a mystery to me. My husband is muslim but they dont come in his name. Very strange.

the plan for today was to clean house but i dont see it happening at the rate im going. other then that...no other plans.
-
If he is a us citizen then he has nothing to worry about. the background checks are already done at this point so her uncle is full of beans. i would get that uncles name and report him to immigration as he is helping his niece commit fraud and making threats on ur friend. as for the fiancee...kick her to the curb. she dont like him very much anyway.
-
im sure its not the smartest idea. someone will eventually burn it down or something. i think they should think about that instead!!
-
not to sound harsh, but it does seam like a convience marriege. first of all you need to love the person you are marrying instead of liking them. people in general dont just marry someone they like and immigration officer will pick up on that when you have your adjustment interview.
Moving back to the US? Should we?
