  1. 1) All the AOS are first routed to the NBC (National Benefits Center) which after review would forward them to the appropiate center. In your case it was transfered to to the CSC (california Service Center) which, in my understanding, get all the AOS from K1 visa and usually adjudicate them without the need for an interview. Unfortunately the CSC seems a little backed-up right now.

    2) Your case seems to be moving along just fine; no need to worry at this time. Good luck.

:thumbs:Thank you for that reassurance.

  2. I'm viewing everyone's timeline for their AOS and I filed and received NOA april 23rd, had biometrics May 23rd and now it seems it's come to a halt. I see people are getting notifications on interview dates or RFE or that

their EAD is in production, but we haven't heard anything since the biometrics appt other than an email back in april saying our petition was received and routed to the nation benefits center. Is this normal for it to be routed to the

national benefit center? USCIS website shows no " touches" either.

I'm worried that we haven't heard anything at all. Should I be concerned?

Just found this page that I wanted to add to my comment here. On april 23rd they also sent us a NOA stating " this is to advice you that in order to speed up processing we have

transferred the above case to the following USCIS office for processing: California service center.

    Is this normal?

  3. Have been wondering where or not to ask this question and can't find it in any searches so here it goes.

I am the petitioner and sponsor. We filed our AOS April 18th along with a co-sponsor. I was unemployed at the time when filing forms.

But I have since found a job which is only part time 25-30 hours a week. Do I need to file something with the uscis now to show this or

just leave it alone, seeing how it isn't full time work?

    Thanks

    :)

  4. I have been searching this forum looking for the answer but can't quite find one similar to my situation.

So I was hoping someone could help me out here.

I am filling out the I-864 form for AOS and on question 23 it asks for my current individual annual income.

    Here's the issue.

I was receiving child support and alimony and it has been my only income, due to the economy and not

finding work. Anyway, My alimony was stopped as soon as I got married, so my current income I would guess

should be calculated without the alimony, correct? Even though I haven't accually gotten a check that reflects this yet.

Just wanted to be sure of what I need to put in this section.

    Thanks :)

  5. Just wanted to give a shout out that my fiance just stepped out of the embassy in Montreal and called me and told me he was approved.

I can't believe it, have been holding my breath this morning waiting for his phone call.

I want to thank everyone here on VJ, because we may not have been approved had we not of been on this site for the last 8 months reading

and reading all the great info everyone has to offer here.

This site has been so informative in every way and really helped us to feel like we were prepared for this interview.

Good luck to all of you!!!! :D

  6. I've been working for several months without a day off, and I am still very unsure about doing the paperwork myself for a K-1 Visa. I've decided to hire an Immigration Attorney. I did a Google search and found several at prices ringing from $995 to $2495. I'm not certain who to use or who to trust. They all promise results.

If anyone can make a recommendation for an attorney, send it in a PM or email me at Hangernaid@gmail.com. I know this site is not for commercial purposes and I don't want to have a thread deleted by violating any rules.

    I appreciate the recommendations.

    Jim

Just my 2 cents worth, but I hired a immigration attorney before I had found Visa Journey and I was terribly disappointed with him. He delayed us by months. I was overwhelmed at first with reading all

the stuff that was involved with the K-1 visa process, but trust me on this,,,,,, you have come to the right place here. This site has been awesome and so much help. I finally fired my attorney and my fiance and I have been doing all the steps ourselves, but not really, because we have depended greatly on this site to answer whatever questions we might have. Our interview is a week from this coming monday. I don't know if we would have made it without this site. This site offers so much help, so research all the forums etc and I am sure you will feel more comfortable with doing the K-1 journey without a attorney.

Remember, they are a 3rd party in this, so they are the go between in everything which takes much longer then you doing it yourself.

However, I will say this, If you have a complicated past or a difficult case where it would benefit you to hire an attorney, then this is where a attorney would be helpful.

Best of luck to you.

Wanted to add one more thing. Because I had a attorney start this process, they didn't see us as a client of theirs, only a number, and we never got to talk to them in person, only by emails and they are the reason we got a RFE ( Request for evidence) after we filed the I-129F. This delayed our case by weeks alone.

I agree with one of the other posters that said that an attorney doesn't give your case the attention that you yourself will. Like in our case, we were only a number to them.

  7. I called to schedule my appointment in montreal back in November and at the time, there were some appointments still available for december and a couple for January. We needed some time still so I scheduled our appointment for January 23. I was rather shocked when I went to schedule for the first time and there were actually some appointments available because I had been reading on here that montreal can be so difficult to even get a appointment and the whole thing about refreshing your screen constantly till you a appointment opened up. I had myself all prepared to do a lot of sitting at the computer and refreshing constantly until something showed up. :) Hopefully montreal doesn't get too far behind and make those of you that still need to schedule wait for a long time.

That has to be so frustrating to be able to finally schedule and their site telling you that there are no appointments available.

Best of luck to all of you that are going to be scheduling in Montreal soon.

I won't be able to attend my fiances interview in montreal, but I asked him to make sure he rights up a good interview review for me to post here for everyone. I've read all the reviews and they have been very informative and helpful.

  8. i am very close to my 200th day :( i am really hoping to get the approval before christmas.

    Impatient Cupcake,

I am so sorry to hear you are still waiting for your NOA2. That is just terrible. What the heck is wrong and why can't there be some sort or order to these things. Have you called them, if so , what are

they telling you. I sure hope you get it for Christmas.Praying for you to get it anyday now. Hang in there. Easier said then done, I know. I think it's the not knowing that is makes it so hard. :clock:
