  1. Hi VJ members, I need some help, Here is my situation, I petitioned for my Mom and she arrived in the US 12\21\11, My Mom had to leave my sister who is a special needs adult( 29 years old) My sister suffer from Epilepsy and Postictal psychosis.( It involves psychiatric symptoms that occur within 7 days (usually within 1 to 3 days) after a seizure or seizure cluster in a person who does not have these symptoms at other times (or at least has them in a much milder form). These symptoms may include delusions, depressive or manic psychosis, or bizarre thoughts and behavior). My sister was left in jamaica with my cousin, however she is not doing welll at all, I have tried everything to get her a visiting visa so she could travel back and forth but we were turn down, i tried ccontacting my state Senators and congressmen and no one has help so far. what esle can i do,,, My mom is planing to send out the I-130 for my sister in the next couple weeks, Is there a way that i can speed up the process, We feel that my sister is not make it in the 8 years that it takes to petition for an unmarried daughter of a LPR. what else can i do and please dont tell me to send my mother back to care for my sister because the goal is to get HELP for my sister and our home country is not the place... thanks in advance

  2. Hey i'm in the same shoes. Mother became lpr last december 2010 {10 months ago} my brother who was/is a minor could not come...which is fibe. The provisions of the law says he couldn't come and that we understood. His case is still pending and my/his mother is living overseas on a temp. Bases while the case is pending. Perhaps your mother could do that and travel frequently. .. Just a thought of how we are addressing the issue.

We as also have a pending case submitted for my mom by her mom (F3) that we could have used to allow every one to complete the process together but having a choice.. We choose not to but refile for the IR5 visas.

HEY THANKS FOR RESPONDING, BUT I HAVE READ SOMEWHERE THAT A GREEN CARDHOLDERS CANNOT BEEN OUT THE COUNTY FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME BECAUSE IT CAN PREVENT THEM FROM PETITIONING FOR THEIR CHILDREN OR SPOUSE. I THINK I READ IT IN LPR HANDBOOK. CHECK IT OUT AND LET ME KNOW.

  3. we're only talking about spouse and children of LPR

not freaking uncle jackson whatever you named it.

people keep talking about removing the F2A numerical visa number limit would "open flood gate" and it'll make the unemployment rate go up.

isn't it the opposite because more money would be spent HERE in the U.S.

so more consumer spending/housing purchases are bad for the economy.

    makes no sense

my point exactly... that jenni guy is an ####. Greenholders are just asking for their kids and spouses that's it. everyone parent want a better life for their children. Even the law chances and let minor children come along with thier parent in time it takes USC, i'm sure in will make all the difference for these families

  4. Numerical limitations are there for a reason. US can only absorb so many immigrants at a time. And even with those accepted as immigrants there is still a problem of their proper integration into the US. Many people want to immigrate to the US and then once they are here they still retain some of their negative bias toward US.

Only way to partially alleviate these problems is by numerical restrictions.

And, I never put my name on anything that has to do with petitioning the government. You don't know where can your name resurface in future...

thanks scramJet u r such a nice guy.....

  5. this petition is way overdue, I'm having the same problem as we speak. I petition for mother and now she had to leave her disable daughter behind.. this suck so bad. been that my sister is over 21 it will take 5-8 years for my mom to petition for her. The very easy for someone to say: oh u didnt have to petition for mother, you know that your sister was going to be left behind... but my answer to those haters are (i have tried many time to get my mother and sister a visting visa but only to lose my money every single time' so i had no choice but petition for her. dont these poeple understand they broking up families. i would love to have my mom come and visit me and my daughter once or twice year, but now my sister have to suffer without our mom for 5-8 years. bottom line is that this law needs to change and fast.

  6. Sorry to hear that, but the embassy is a money making bussiness. When i was getting married here in the states, they turn my mom and three sisters down twice and told her to "tell your daughter to file for you". almost $1400 wasted. i wish jamaican poeple could get wise and no one goes to the embassy for a least a week and see how much money they would lose, i bet you they be handed out visas left and right.

  7. Hi folks... i have a hugh problem and i need help!!!! I'm a USC and just recently petition for my mother. She got approved and is due to leave jamaica in december 2011. The problem is that i have a 27 year-old sister with epilesy and some mental problems. My mother has taken care of her all her life and now that she has to leave the country we have no one to take care of her. I tried to obtain a visiting/medical visa for her but was denied.( the reason was that my mother did not explain her conditions good enough). what esle can I do. I dont want to leave my sister. I know my mom can come here and petition for her but that will take 5-8 years. we cannot leave her for that amount of time... help
