Hi Everyone,

So I have a friend that lives in the U.S , she just filed for her citizenship. Her boyfriend lives in Jamaica and he has a ten year visitor visa. They want to get married, he is coming up here in January. The question is what would be the right move. Should he marry her and stay in the U.S or marry her then go back home ? If he marries her then leave , would he still be able to travel back here while they put in the paperworks. Thanks

Its been three years since i have been on this website.I would like my mother in law to come up her on a visitor visa. My husband just receive his ten year green card. I know he can file for her but its to much money right now for the citizenship and filing for her. My question is there anyway we can improve her chances of getting a 10 year visitor visa for now. When she goes for the interview, they will ask her why she want to come here. Our daughter birthday is coming up and that could be a reason. She doesnt have any property or anything in Jamaica. From our experience it takes them a month to do everything. My fiance had to summit in proof of status for the co sponsor so I email the the documents an sent it express n the mail. A week after the interview they call him to come to embassy jan 3 to pay for dhl thing an bring in his passport.

Forgive me bcuz i write crazy. My fiance had his interview on the nov 29 and all day i was feeling so nervous like i was the one at the interview. I was at work when a text came in saying sadface. I immediately started to cry not even caring dat people was around me. So he reached the embassy at 630am. He paid the guy outside to hold his phone for him.So the questions were basic,

*What was my name

*Do we have kids and are we married

*where do i work

*how many times have i been to jamaica

*where do i stay when i come there

The IO ask for proof of status of the cosponsor which is my mother. I put her citizenship number on the support paper, I thought that would be enough.They ask him to get passport/green card from my mother, she was born in jamaica. So i email them her citizenship certificate and us passport.

****1. My question is they gave him a yellow slip 221g and another yellow paper that say name,address,an passport #, what does this mean?

2. They said, send the info to 30 munroe rd in kingston, what is this place

3. After they get the info they need, whats next because they didnt tell him to email them back to get a new interview date.

I feel like im more excited than he is for the interview on Nov. 29. Im counting down the days; its been a long 9 months. Im shopping for things for him so he'll be prepare for his first winter in Jersey. I just want him here for the xmas. Im a little ahead of myself but how long does it take to receive the visa after the interview and can it be picked up instead of delivered. When does the person apply for the ss card.

So my baby has his interview on oct 26. Im just hoping and praying everything will work out. I sent him all the emails,pics,support papers in the mail

Oct 5 the post office people told me it would take 6-10 days so hopefully it will come this week before the interview. Even though i love jamaica, i just want everything to work out because i don't want to live there but ill do anything for love and be with my future husband.

My fiance has sent it through the mail last monday from morant bay. I sent the embassy two emails requesting the date but no response. Is there a number for them? That was really smart to scan it den email it bcuz wen i jus try to email it , it wudnt allow me.

For sum reason we didnt get packet 3 in the mail. So I email the embassy on sept 1 and got a reply back the next day wit packet 3 info, the embassy said they mailed it out aug,11.My fiance mailed out ds-230 on sept 5. I email the embassy again sept 8 for packet 4 to cum in my email bcuz we dnt want to miss the interview date if it was sent in the mail.Anyone receive there interview date dis month from dem by email.

I am a usc and i file for my fiance who lives in jamaica. We are now gathering all the information for packet 3 and all the information is at the embassy. I have been unemployed since may. I was thinking about collecting unemployment but i am scared they will turn him down to get the visa. I was going to send him my 2010 and 2009 tax returns and 2 pay stubs from me working at this temp agency last month. I have never been on any govt assistance before an the whole point is to be able to support him when he comes up here. Its funny but we have been dating since i was 9 yrs old an he was 12yrs old and now im 21. I have been going crazy throughout this whole process and we are so close now. So my question is if i apply for unemployment would they turn him down for the k1 visa.
