  1. I need help with this situation; during the k-1 process I had advised my fiancé to leave out her son due to some personal issues, hence we did not involve his 6 year old on any of her documentation. Now she is here and crying everyday about getting him here. I know from visa journey that I made a mistake not placing him on the documentation even if he was not going to travel. Now I am all for getting her son here to join us and want to know where I start?

  2. abt fiancee processing time.

fiancee got here safely and after filling the i- 485 the status have being stuck at initial review for quite a while.

how long does it take after i-485 case is transferred form chicago to California be4 u see some action?

  3. YOu have to have it filled out by a civil surgeon who will transcribe the vaccines from the card that was provided at your ghana medical. You do not need a medical if you came on a k-1 and your medical is not more then a year old.

So you don't fill it out- the Dr. Does....

    thanks

  4. every one that comes to the united states has to have medical examination, the medical form, 1-693, medical examination and vaccination record.for the interview

question is if u are sending out the AOS, do u have to send that form with it?, or is part of the brown envelope they received at the airport?

  5. So she kept from her now-husband that she had a child, and the child is not mentioned on any forms? That is going to be difficult to resolve. How old is the child?

If under 18, the USC step dad can petition him. Not mentioning him is likely not a material miss-representation, so her own greencard should not be in jeopardy. A DNA test will be required to show she is indeed the mother, after she kept the existance of this child a secret from the US government till now.

7 yrs and the adjustment have not been done yet, is there a way they can mention it on the i- 485 now or wait and file a petion via step dad.

  6. Actually, from the same link Laure&Colin posted above, you can also see that :"'Transit without visa' concession - DATV exemptions Close

If you are a national of a country covered by the DATV system, you may be able to transit the UK airside without a visa. To qualify for this exemption:

you must arrive and depart by air; and

your onward flight must be confirmed, and must depart within 24 hours; and

you have proper documentation for your destination, including a visa if necessary."

And Ghana is a country covered by the DATV system. I assumed that 1. you are a national of Ghana and 2. you are travelling to the U.S. on some sort of visa. I hope I wasn't wrong :)

    thank u,

  7. You don't need any special visa ,provided you are not traveling to UK ,but if you are traveling to US on British Airways or Virgin Atlantic your transit point is going to be UK and you don't need a visa, if for any reason your flight delays the airline will get you guys a hotel near the airport.

    thank u all,

  8. Hi everyone! My chilean husband came over on the k1 fiance visa and after submitting our i485 and i765, I recently received a letter saying that my I 864 was denied due to insufficient income. I did not correctly calculate my projected income and it was about $22,500.00. I have been working full time (36 hours) since May 2011 as a nursing asst. and earn a base payrate of $10.70 an hour and an additional $3.25 an hour when working weekends. I am a weekend option employee and always work two weekend shifts aka 24 hours. Therefore I earn 10.70(12 hours)+ 13.95(24 hours)= $463.20 a week or $24,086.40 a year. I am required to work two weekend shifts a week but can miss a total of 8 shifts in a year which, if taken, would decrease my income to $23,774.40 a year. My husband and I have a son and therefore we need to earn $23,162 a year to meet poverty guidelines. I am including a clear explanation of my projected income this year, a letter from my work employer stating my income (base rate and premium pay)and my starting date in May, my employer's policy for employees who earn this premium pay, almost all my pay stubs and my 2010 and 2011 taxes. In 2010, I earned about $3000 and in 2011 I earned about $15,000 because I started working full time in May.

Also, I am including my bank statements from the past year. I currently have $6,000 in my checking account from my taxes and am hoping that this will help and count towards my assets. The bank statements may not help too much because money has fluctuated and, until my tax refund came, I didnt have very much in my account.

My mom was originally going to be the joint sponsor but pretty much backed out. I am worried because it was denied once. Also, I don't know if my earnings are too confusing or too close to the poverty margin. I would very much like to explain this is person to someone but don't think I can. Would going to my local USCIS office help?

Please let me know if anyone has had any similar experiences or have any suggestions.

make sure u are going off the 2012 guidelines, its being posted since the !st of march. it is a little bit higher than the 2011. good luck

  9. For personal property, I listed the value and noted in each case it was the fair current value. For real state, you could use comparables or check similar houses sold in your area. For cars, Blue book; tools an such, estimate the value.

this sound interesting but what do u give them as supporting document to ur own valuation of ur property? the copy of ur car's title? don"t know?

  10. If you have filed your taxes , 2011 tax transcripts are ready.I requested mine a week ago and got them yesterday for tax year 2011.

i filled on the 5th of Feb. But any time i check i keep getting "A transcript is not available for the year you have requested i.e 2011."

i will wait and keep checking, i am shipping the final paper works before my fiancee's interview in 3 weeks.

  11. None, if you make 125% in just your income you don't need to use personal property or bank account or savings etc.

i do make it but it just a little over the the 125%, i decided to explore other options. my fear is that the 2012 will put me out of the new 125% too! i have some saving but how does that work?
