  • Our Story
We met online, on Facebook, because we were looking for friends to play an online game with (Vampire Wars! :D) and started chatting. The next thing you know, I was in the deep end emotionally and we decided we needed to meet. I had never been out of the country before, and it was a little scary, but really much more exciting to be able to visit Europe and meet my sweetheart. We knew that you cannot know if you really have chemistry until you meet, so I went to visit for 2 weeks and we really hit it off in person. 6 months later I invited him to come 2 weeks to stay with me - then I went back again for 3 weeks - the most I could with work and finances, but we are sure we want to be together and it made better sense for us to try to make it here because of my job and house and pets. I brought his kitty home with me in January. Waiting is difficult, but hopefully we will hear some good news soon. In the meantime, we're thankful for Skype and other electronic media that keeps us connected and I will always be thankful to Facebook! Who knew? I certainly had no idea I'd meet and fall in love with someone 4000 miles away, across the Atlantic.

Got married 10/7/2012! Woohoo! :D Now it's AOS and settling in.

  1. Reading about other folks' troubles leaves me with mixed feelings. On the one hand, I'm glad to know I'm not alone - but on the other I'm sad that others are having the same stress and anxiety that I am with this LONG and drawn out and expensive process. There really need to be some reforms of this system.

Well, ####### Lugar sent it to Dan Coats, for continuity of coverage and I had to drop off an privacy waiver statement to his Indianapolis office, and Andre' Carson has never responded. Sorry, didn't see your question until just now JJ. And week before last I noted they had a different case number in the email they sent back to me so I asked about it and this week I get a reply to a different email saying they have forwarded the file to the Consulate in Amsterdam. Now, we wait some more...

Personally, I think Lugar doesn't want to work that hard on his way out of office, but I could be mistaken!
