  1. Hi there- it is me again with a couple question about EAD renewal.

    1) Which USCIS office? I put Chicago. It asks for a date... Do I put the date that they receive my adjustment of status and EAD application or the date that I received my EAD card?

    2) On question # 15. Current immigration status? What should I put here? for question # 14 Status last entered US? I put K-1 visa. But I am not sure what I should put on # 15? Our case for Adjustment of status is pending.

Please help me with these questions. I am planning to submit my app before the end of the week.

    Thanks Guys

  3. Hi Everyone,

Since no news about our GC and EAD card will be expiring in 3 months I think it will be wise to apply for a renewal. Here are some questions I have about the renewal.

    1) Which USCIS office? I don't know if I need to answer this or not?

    2) Result (Granted or Denied)? Do they mean first EAD card that was issued?

    3) Have you ever before applied for employment authorization from USCIS? Yes (If "yes" complete below).... but there is nothing below to fill out for "Yes" answer there is only space for signature. Any ideas?

    4) Where to file the EAD renewal application and what document do I need to attach?

    Thanks guys for your help!!!

  4. Thank You all for sharing your experience and knowledge. To those of you who are in the same situation as we are I wish you guys good luck too. I have called the office so many times, but each time it was a waste of my time. We received our interview waiver letter in August so that means counting 6 months after August. Meantime we are going to renew his EAD card and hoping we hear the good news we have been waiting soon. Thank you again for all of you. Best of luck to all of us.

  5. Hi my fellow VJ Friends

We filed for adjustment of Status first week of March 2013. It has been 10 months now we have not received green card. In the past 10 months all USCIS sent us was the receipt that our case was received and work permit that we filed along with I-485 and last thing which we received 4 months ago was that we were chosen to not have an interview for Green Card. My husband came with K-1 visa and we got married the same month he arrived. Please help me with your guidance. Any one in this situations????

  6. Thank You all for responding. I am a US citizen. My husband is a green card holder. My sister-inlaw is under 18 years of age. We would like her to come and perminately live here with us if there is a possibility. But it looks like our option is very limited. I won't bring her here to take care of my and my baby but go to school and make a better life for herself. How the visitor/ Tourist visa works? How long can the person stay in US?

  7. 1) "K-1", take a look at the VJ example: http://www.visajourney.com/examples/INS-Form-I-131.pdf

    2) d. You are applying for an advance parole (AP).

    3) Write "Unknown" for date and length of trip.

After Part 3 Question 3, you skip to part 7. Read the form instructions for more details: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-131instr.pdf

Thank you for your answers. Sorry at first I didn't get it, but now I did. Appreciate answering my questions.

  8. First of all, thank you everyone for all your help. Now I have questions on form I-131.

    1) Question # 3 " Class of Admission" What do I put here?

    2) Part 2 Which one do I select? I am here on K1-visa?

    3) I don't have any plans to travel overseas as of now, so what do I need to put a date under question # 1 on part 3?

Please answer these questions. Thank you so much

  9. You need 2 for I-485, 2 for I-765, and 2 for I-131. If you are not applying for I-131 (AP) then you need 4. If you are applying for all three, you need 6.

    Thank you so much.

I highly suggest you also send in the I-131 for AP. Some people think they won't need it, then they do and wish they had filed for it along with the other forms to begin with. Some people are getting quick interview dates recently, but others are waiting close to a year. You may want to use or need to use the AP while waiting for the green card approval. The EAD and AP form fees are both waived with a pending I-485, so why not?

Do you know how long the travel document is valid for?

  10. Hi There all!

I am assembling and reviewing our AOS package to have it ready and send out it this weekend. Two questions I have...

    1) I have already have 2 passport size photo that is required by form I-485, when I was reading form I-765 for Employment authorization it asks for 2 passport size photos, do I need to put 2 photo for I-485 and 2 for I-765, meaning total of 4?

    2) I know there isn't a sample cover sheet for AOS so I used the format that is provided here for I-129F package. My question is Do I need to clear the part that says " Nature of Submission: I-129F Original Submission" and put Adjustment of States Submission or something? Please help. Any other sugestion will help too.

    Thank You all

  11. Just get the AOS package in as soon as you can. Its not likely she will be deported.

Thank you guys for your reply. It made me a little worried now. I am just waiting for one piece paper that I need to receive from the State. I hope things go well. I am very much worried.

  12. Hi there all!

I hope everyone is doing well!

Getting to the main point. My wife entered the United States on K1 Visa. We got married after 20 days of her being in US. I am working on gethering paperwork for AOS for her. However, her I-94 is expiring in a week and I don't think I can send out the AOS package before that. Is this going to be an issue? After I-94 is expired could my wife be deported or be in any trouble with the Immigration Services? Please help and guide me with your feedback.

    God bless you all.
