  1. She will be making a refueling stop in Chicago, probably not even leaving plane. Final destination is Boston. Seems I remember landing in L.A. once and everyone left plane, went through customs with baggage, then got back into plane with all their bags again. Everyone was so tired and dragging their heals.

  2. every filipino that is bound for abroad needs to attend the CFO seminar, after she gets her visa she can just go and attend the Pre-Departure Seminar and the one on one counseling at CFO in Manila

Thanks. Where/what is CFO in Manila? Thanks, again.

  3. Been looking all over internet for accurate information onthe GCP class that is needed. To begin with, seems there is possibly a choice ot two classes. One for overseas workers(CFO),and one for K-1(GCP)recipients. I need the GCP certification for my fiance. She lives very far from Manila. She has already had her visa delivered to her home. At interview time they told her to look for details of the class she needs to take in her approved passport/visa packet. All she sees in the visa is a phone number in Manila that noone answers.

I see nothing at the embassy website including no viable email addresses to address this concern to. Seems it should have been taken care of when she was already in Manila, but they sent her home. Now she just needs to come go to Manila and catch her flight.

Wondering why this is such an ellusive topic and yet so necessary to complete all. Really need to get this clarified for my sweetie in Suriagao del Sur as it is time to get her ticket.

  4. We've stayed at bay park view, lotus gardens and casa boco. Rovie really liked casa boco better than any of them. She stayed initially at lotus garden. Small, not a good breakfast. But casa was good food, good room. She liked it it better than bay park view, which is certainly not a budget place, but was convenient for the interview. But best value for money is casa boco.

    Enjoy

Thank you. Several have suggested casa boco. Will try that.

  5. Any suggested clean pensions or hotels that can be recommended in Ermita near St. Lukes and embassy? We have been there around Ermita, but on vacation with vacation kind fo budget. Fiance needs to stay for two weeks and we need to be budget conscious this time. Don't need or want a dive. Just something that will do. She will be alone and wants everything close by.

Teh links and suggestions online can be somewhat dated so looking for some fresh ideas!

  6. In the signature box at the bottom of the page is a highlighted box just before the signature box. What goes in there? I believe it should be my, the sponser's, name. However, when I hover my cursor over that area it says, "relationship". This is not in context with the preceding paragraph. I think it is a technical gliche with what was remembered by the computer from the previous entries above.

    Anyone see what i mean?

  7. Just about to complete my I-134 online form to send on to Manila via Fedex. At the extreme bottom of the page where I am to sign it there is somethjing kind of unclear to me. Just before the signature box is a highlighted box to fill in. When I hover my cursor over it it says to insert, "relationship". I believe this should be where I would type in my full name, just before the signature box. Seems out-of-place if I would enter, "fiance", here. It does not fit in context with the rest of the paragraph.

    Anyone see what I mean?

  8. I plan on sending this form to my fiance as an email attachment, along with others like letter from my employer, tax forms, xoom and cel phone receipts. I believe this will do fine enough as it is not an official government document. Any input?

  9. 1st your profile says you are IR/CR-1 not K-1.... fixing it would be good.

Yeah, my display reads wrong visa type. Tried to change it but looks permanently embedded that way. I have K-1 Visa.

    Next!

    Manila Embassy:

NOW THAT YOU HAVE YOUR MNL # (don't need to wait for the letter from the embassy - being they don't send it! )

(NOTE: When getting NSO certified copies of your Birth Certificate get 4 - 6 extra copies for bringing to the States with you. You will need them from time to time)

    http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3023.html

Once you have your MNL # :

You can pay your nonimmigrant visa application fee with cash or debit card at any Bank of Philippine Islands. Before going to the bank, you must print the applicable U.S. visa application deposit slip available below on this page. Take the printed deposit slip with you to pay your fee. If you print a deposit slip in advance of the day in which you plan to make your payment, please take note of the expiration date on the deposit slip. If the expiration date passes prior to using the slip to make your payment, simply return to this site and re-click the appropriate link below to generate a new deposit slip. Bank agents will NOT accept payments based on expired deposit slips. Upon receiving of your payment, bank will issue you a receipt. Save your receipt. It cannot be replaced if it is lost. You will not be able to schedule an appointment without your receipt number.

    http://ustraveldocs.com/ph/ph-niv-paymentinfo.asp

Select the deposit slip that matches your visa application fee from the list below. Values are shown in U.S. dollars and native currency. This page has more information about the different visa application fees.

    http://ustraveldocs.com/ph/ph-niv-visafeeinfo.asp

For K-1 the fee is $240

After you have paid the visa application fee, keep the BANK receipt for your records. It cannot be replaced if it is lost. You will not be able to schedule an appointment without your receipt number.

If you have an account with either Bank of Philippine Islands (BPI) or BancNet you may choose to pay your visa application fee online using their online bill pay services. Click on either of the links below if you are a BPI or BancNet customer and wish to make an online payment.

If you are paying for more than one applicant, please DO NOT make a lump sum payment for all the applicants. A UID/receipt number is required for each visa application fee payment for EACH applicant for scheduling an appointment. After you have paid the visa application fee, please keep the fee receipt for your records.

    Receipt Format

Note: If you have a Bank of Philippine Islands receipt, your fee receipt number should be your passport number. If something other than your passport number appears in the circled area on the graphic, use that information as your receipt number. This receipt number verifies your payment and allows you to schedule your visa interview

When scheduling online with the embassy you need to use the receipt number as shown on the payment receipt from BPI.

Priorty Date; this is the date the NOA 1 was accepted.

Make sure to print two copies of the interview confirmation page as you will need one for St. Luke's and the other (maybe, they might mail the interview letter) for the embassy.

Required documents & "OTHER DOCUMENTS" they ask for at CFO: copies of; CENOMAR, certified birth certificate, bio page of passport, visa page from passport, pictures together, from USC - bio page of passport, birth certificate, divorce decree (if been married before) are the most common. The "other documents" clause can be ANYTHING with those nit-wits at CFO.

** From the Family Code of the Philippines: it's 21-25 years old for advice and 18-21 years old for consent. (Some are posted on VJ that they were not asked for this, yet others have been asked, so be prepared)

  10. I got my case number from NVC and they said the papers were sent to Manila. We are now to wait for Manila to send my fiance her package. She has been waiting over a month. I was told to look at the embassy specific information. Looks to me that I should book her visa interview appointment even though no package yet. Does that seem right?

We filed for a K-1 visa

  11. On the Manila Embassy site they are quite clear that only K and V visa applicants pay the $ 131 dollar fee - you are applying for a CR1 or IR1 visa, so this does not apply to you:

All immigrant visa applicants, regardless of age, are required to pay the immigrant visa application fee of U.S. $355 plus a U.S. $45 visa security enhancement surcharge. Therefore the total immigrant visa application fee is U.S. $400 per applicant.

For "K" and "V" nonimmigrant visas, the application fee is U.S. $131.

Thanks for making this so clear to me. Seems I saw one place where they said Immigrant and Non-Immigrants pay the $131.00. Thanks again!

  12. My wife has her interview at the US Embassy in Manila very shortly. I have paid the $400. documentation fee already. Not sure about this $131. fee for Non-Immigrant visas. Is it also for immigrant visas as in Spouse? Confused by who needs to pay this before interview. They say to pay it at BDO and get receipt. Again, not clear if spouse needs this as well as fiance. I can't find any concrete logic and many discrepencies on different info links.

  13. I worked all weekend long translating my fiance's divorce certificate and assembling the I-129f packet. I had high hopes of meeting my goal of sending it of March 1st. Well when I pulled out the passport pictures she sent me I literally groaned out loud. The pictures were great for passports--Mexico Passports! Apparently the size requirements are smaller than the U.S. Well now I have to wait for a proper picture as I look at this perfectly assembled packet. Oh well just thought Id share my misery with someone out there. Oh and photoshop did cross my mind but Id rather wait a few days than jeopordize everything with fraud.

I had the same last minute problem with the difference in photo sizes. I used your idea, played with photoshop and got them to look like 2" x 2". I enclosed these in an envelope along with the small photos as well. They were accepted by NVC.

  14. My wife has all her civil documents ready for me to send to the NVC here in the states. All I need to complete the documentyation package is the bigraphic page of her passport. We have given that office all the necessary paperwork. They accepted it and commenced to process her passport. By a slip of the tongue she said the wrong birthday for herself. They made her pay a lawyer to prepare a waiver for her to overcome that slight problem. Now it has been almost three months and still no visa sent to her home. It was supposed to be delivered to her home ages ago. They are very vague about what the problem might be. After submitting all the papers they said it was all in order. Any help with this situation?
