  1. Hello VJ Family,

First off I'd like to thank everyone on this forum for being such a great help from the CR1 process to now the Citizenship process.

We are getting ready to send in my husband's application and I came across the Traffic Ticket dilemma. My husband had received a citation for speeding in January 2013 from a State Trooper on an interstate highway. Of course the ticket is paid off, it was around $100-150. I am not disclosing this on the application, as it states:

Note that unless a traffic incident was

alcohol or drug related, you do not need to submit documentation for traffic fines and
incidents that did not involve an actual arrest if the only penalty was a fine less than
    $500 and/or points on your driver’s license.
    "

I would just appreciate your advise if you think it shouldn't be an issue. The ticket was a while ago and the only one my husband has ever received. I can provide a copy of his drivers record to prove its clean and he has paid off the citation. I would really appreciate your input :)

  2. Hi all!

Our 90 day frame will be coming up in May to remove conditions on my husband's 2 year greencard. I recently read a post on VJ about notifying the USCIS about a change of address, I was not aware of this before. The adress listed for my husband throughout the application process was my parent's address (where we both lived for a year after his arrival to the US).

We moved into our own appartment and have our mails forwarded there, but sometimes we do get our mails sent to my parent's home address.

My question is, do we need to go online and fill out the change address form? We don't plan on permanently living in this apartment, maybe for another year or so. My parent's home address is also current. I want to know this in advance before we start the ROC process in May.

    Thanks!

  3. they told my husband the same thing back in december 2011 at his interview that he would receive the visa in 2 months but unfortunately that didn't happen and we received it after 6 months. You should know that your case is fine and islamabad embassy is a little slow with their AP so just relax and keep calling dos and contact the embassy to get updates on your case. I've noticed that the avg ap time in isl is about 6 months but some people get out earlier than that too...keep praying your visa will come soon

  4. Hey vjers! I'm really confused right now, its been about 2 1/2 weeks since my husband's POE. His immigration went fine and we were waiting on his social security card to come in. Instead todat we received a letter from immigrations with a receipt number and case type listed as "immigrant visa and alien registration" and the letter confirms that USCIS received our application. My husband is here on a cr1 visa so i think there has been a mistake. any suggestions on what to do?

  5. hi everyone, we're getting ready for my husband's POE to Houston. If anyone would share their experience I would really appreciate it! just to set things straight, which forms and documents does he need to have with him? to my knowledge its his sealed x-ray and the immigration packet he received with his passport from the embassy. If there's anything else please let me know, Thanks!

  6. You are a very strong individual. I am sorry to hear about your daughter's health condition. I will pray for her. I just came back from Pakistan and was able to spend little over a month with my wife. I called the embassy every week to get an update. They kept saying that we have everything we need just need to wait until the process is over. But is is every hard that I am back in the states and my wife is still in Pakistan. It is very frustrating especially when it is out of our controll. All we can do is hang in there.

Im going through the same thing, I came to visit my husband our case is still under AP now for 6 1/2 months we were hoping to go back together but still no sign. its really painful I hate how no one can help at this point may Allah help us all iA

  7. hey guys, hope everyone is holding up well...Each and everyone of you going through this process are in my prayers, my husband's case is still also in AP since december and thats all I can get out of them. Don't know if its mandatory or whatever but I am going to Pakistan next week to visit him. My question was, do you think it will make a difference if I visit the embassy and see if I can talk to the CO or something? I honestly feel like nothing is in my power anymore, but if you guys have any ideas please do let me know. God Bless!

  8. Sabrina,

There is INTERNAL AP-AT THE EMBASSY LEVEL and there is

MANDATORY AP WHICH IS NAME AND BACKGROUND CHECKS in washington computers.

Sounds like he has not YET gone thru Mandatory AP for name checks.

Maybe they are still checking documents and verifying relationship at the embassy level.

It is a great thing you got the congressman involved so they will finish the internal AP soon. Then it might have to go through MANDATORY AP name checks still.

    I hope not.

I hope after the INTERNAL AP then he gets his visa.

DOS is answering your questions by saying yes he is in AP---you have to ask the right questions

ask them "What is the status of his case?"

they will say it it pending or it is in process or it is in administrative processing

then you have to ask specifically IS IT MANDATORY?

then they will say yes or no

]this is how you will find out if it is internal or mandatory

    Good Luck

Thank you for your input! I feel like the people at DOS play a word game, hopefully this process is coming to an end. I will let you guys know inshAllah

  9. i think i will try calling the embassy to see what's really going on...because dos just told me pending ap, but through the congressman's assistant im hearing something totally different.i read someone's story where an adjudicating officer reviewed the case once it was back at uscis. As far as i know my case is still with the embassy. Im just freaking out a bit. Hopefully we hear good news i will keep you all posted inshAllah and praying hard for all of us dealing with this every day

  10. I'm a little confused right now. My husband's case has been "pending AP" since December 19 according to DOS. The CO had told us the visa would be issued within two months, after waiting i decided to contact my congressman. I just got an update from them today, and they told me that they didn't get any information about the case being in administrative processing to begin with, and that on friday the case has been given to an Adjudicating Officer to look at. I don't understand if thats a good thing or a bad thing? I told her that I thought the case was under AP? and she said we didn't get any information about it being under AP because then there would be no time limit and they would've told us that. So I'm pretty confused right now. Has this happened to anyone else? please shed some light on me!
