  1. Hello All,

Since my process is finally complete, I want to share the timeline.

I am in Las Vegas and applied through California Center.

    Mailed N-400 on Feb.18

Recieved and priority date Feb 26

    Fingerprint letter arrived Mar. 6

    Fingerprint appointment Mar. 18

    Interview letter arrived in August,

Scheduled for Citizenship interview on Sept. 22

Interview was yesterday, rather simple, really:

    I was sworn in, then asked all the questions on the application (have you ever been arrested? etc.);

Few questions about my wife ( I filed as a spouse of US citizen after 2 years and 9 month from LPR), such as where is she from? (she is born here, but her last name is chinese), where do we live, is it a house or an appartment?

Did I travel outside of the US since my application was filed? (Yes, I did, form May 16 to June 3, was asked where did I go and if my wife went with me)

How do we make living? (we are students and did not file taxes for the last two years cause we did not have enough income to report)

Then I was tested on US history (five or six questions from the book, all easy), and for the english I was told to read a sentence (something like "we all live together") and then to write "we are a very happy family".

Then she asked for the "proof we do still live together", and I gave her:

    - joint bank account statement printed from internet

    - gas bill with on my wife's name to our address here

    - some letter from DMV addressed to me to our address here.

That was it, she said that I was approved AND told to wait right there for my oath date letter, she is going to see her supervisor for final approval and give me a letter in about 15-30 minutes.

Indeed, 15 minutes later I was given the letter to appear for Oath ceremony on SEPT 26, which is day after tomorrow.

Well, I guess that's it, my immigration process is finally complete. Thank you all, information here was most helpful!

  2. Yeremeev, i think if you are male or if you are a citizen of countries from terrorism list and i think Russia is included because of Chechnia, they might take longer time for name check.

Feliz, you are mistaken, Russia is NOT on the terrorism list.

Delay is most likely due to fact that Yeremeev is a rather common russian last name and it is possible some criminal has it, too.

Or whatever other reason, who knows?

  3. Finally got email "Case approved".

    Timeline as follows:

Conditional greencard expires May 16, 2007

Sent application and support documents to CSC on Feb, 15, 2007

Received One year extention letter on March 7 and Biometrics appointment letter on March 8th, appointment for March 20th.

Went to the appointment March 20th (Las Vegas Local center)

On April 5th received email "Application Type: CRI89 , PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT

RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED Current Status: Card production ordered."

On April 9th received email "Application Type: CRI89 , PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT

RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED Current Status: Approval notice sent. On April 9, 2007, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this

CRI89 PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED"

list of support documents we have included with application:

    1) Affidevit from my wife's father

    2) Affidevit from a friend

    3) Photocopy of a credit cards with both our names and the same account number

    4) Car insurance proof cards with both our names on all three cars

    5) Copy of a recent bank statement with both our names, showing activity on the account

    6) Photocopy of both of our driver licenses, showing the same address

    7) photocopy of my green card, both sides as required.

We did not have any bills or house/apartment papers, since we live with my wife's family at their house. My father-in-law mentioned this in his affidevit.

We did not include tax info, since we did not file for this year (2006) at the moment of application, and I simply could not find the last year's one (for 2005).

I did not think it is necessary to include any pictures.

I have only included one copy of a most recent bank statement.

In all, our entire application was this thin envelope, just a few sheets of paper. Seemed to be enough.

Hope this will be helpful to you guys!

  4. as they may not need to do it now that evidence is needed :help:

The only case they will NOT need your biometrics- is if your case is closed and you have to leave the country.

If you are still in process to remove condition (and, of course, you are) they will need your biometrics REGARDLESS of whether or not they ask for more evidence.

  5. In our case situation with bills is even worse- we live with my wifes family, in the house that belongs to her grandmother, hence no utilities under any of our names and no lease or morgage or anything like that.

We've included the affidevit from my father in law, stating that we do live there and do not pay rent or utilities AT ALL, hopefully it will be enough.

We have joint account and credit cards, though, as well as car insurance. I don't know, why shouldn't it be enough- you can't possibly have every single paper there is!

  6. 9999

It does seem quick and unusual in comparison to a great deal of other people's experiences, and I am very grateful for the fact it has been so speedy. So I think I am right to be both pleased and suprised.

Thanks everyone for your congrats best wishes to all those who are waiting.

    Jelly

True, but don't forget what you also are from ENGLAND, it sure helps ;)

I can assure you that on average it takes a lot more time for someone from Bangladesh or Zimbabwe, because it will seem a lot more likely that the marriage is not geniune in those cases, hence interviews and all...

Few people run away from good old UK.

    In any case- congrats.

  7. I don't see anything unusual about that:

First, California center seems to be one of the fastest,

Second, If there is no interview cases do not take long,

Third, biometrics results are available WITHIN 48 HOURS, unless there is a problem of some kind.

We had similar experience with AOS-

Filed in February 2005, there was nothing for 2 month, then in April we suddenly recieved with just a few days difference:

    1) NOA

    2) Biometrics appointment for beginning on May

    3) Interview appointment for May 16th.

I was afraid biometrics will not be ready in time for an interview, since the appointment was like only 5 days before, but THEY WERE! And I was approved right there and got stamp in my passport and recieved greencard in two weeks, making the whole process just over 3 month long.

Few days ago we filed for removal of condition, let's see how that goes...
