  1. Emailing always worked for me....at least back in 2009

Thanks. I finally found a phone number that took me through an IVR system that eventually enabled me to speak with someone at the embassy in Moscow. They said I had to create a separate profile for my fiancee's son on the cgifederal.force.com site and to schedule his interview directly after her interview in the system.

I will schedule the interview by phone now through this number anyway after we make the payment for the visas. Also, I learned that while they do take online credit card payments for visas and that someone other than the beneficiary's credit card can be used; the credit card must be a Russian (rubles based) credit card.

  2. Don't forget that you have to make a visa payment for the child as well and he has to have his own medical performed.

Thanks. This is the real issue. There is no where to add him to her profile on the web form. At the main dashboard page for her login there is a section that says "family members". Here it says "0". There is no way that either of us can see to add family members. So it only asks for $350 payment for her visa.

I don't know what to do. I've tried calling every number for the Moscow embassy I have found in documentation. The 888 number that is given doesn't work. One of the +7 Russian numbers works but the people that answer the phone do not speak English at all and my Russian is extremely limited at this point. The other numbers don't work.

  3. If he's going to be a K-2, then normally he just tags along with his mother. You list him on the DS-156K for your intention for him.

Thanks for the response. We are going to try it that way. I had received an email for the embassy to schedule the appointment which I forwarded to my fiancee. She received a letter in the mail yesterday that basically said the same thing. The notification that was sent to her had both her and her son's name on it though. I guess I'll pay for her visa so we can get it scheduled and take it from there.

  4. Yes you can. set up your account here. http://cgifederal.force.com/ Just hope you can get an appointment date. there dont seem to be any available

    Thanks.

My fiancee has already created a profile here. There is no where to add her son to her profile. He is 5. He needs his own profile? I know they must both be at the same interview so it doesn't make sense to have a separate profile for him and schedule a separate appointment.

  5. As far as I know, online credit card payment isn't possible but perhaps there are particulars at your embassy that make it possible though I very much doubt it. If her son is relocating with her, then you have to pay for his visa at the same time because he has to be given a visa too together with your fiancee.

    All the best!

Thanks for your response. The Embassy in Moscow does accept online credit card payments. They are very specific about asking for $350 for the visa so that the interview can be scheduled. Obviously this is the cost of only one visa. I think they changed the system they use at the Embassy in Moscow in the last year. I am hoping someone has been through this specifically for a Russian beneficiary can offer some advice.

    Thanks again for your help.

  6. To whom it may concern:

I need some help. I need to pay for the Visa to get the interview scheduled at the embassy in Moscow and I have a couple of questions.

    1. Can my fiancee use my credit card for online credit card payment of the visa?

    2. It only asks for $350 for payment of the visa so that we can schedule the appointment. Where / when do I pay for her son's visa?

Thanks in advance for your help.

  7. 1. See if the judge will sign it for you.

    2. If not, ask the clerk or judge to write an explanation (that electronically submitted documents are handled in this manner) for you, for immigration purposes (show them RFE doc). Any documentation from the court, addressing this might suffice.

    3. When you send it to USCIS attach it to the RFE along with your own explanation as well.

Worst case scenario, they don't give you a letter or sign, just write your own letter explaining the dates you visited the courts and what was told to you and by whom (and that is what you send USCIS with RFE).

Thanks for the response. I will make certain I write out the steps I have taken to address the RFE.

  8. Try contacting the state board of health/vital statistics in your locale and obtain a certified divorce decree from them.

    HTH,

    Good luck

Thanks for replying so fast. I will try and contact them but I am certain that what I sent to the USCIS is certified. It has the official stamp on the top of the page right next to the judge's signature. It is the official document that I received from my attorney.

  9. I'm hoping someone can help me. Yesterday I received an RFE in the mail. The RFE says it's for my Marriage Termination. It says they acknowledge I submitted a copy of my divorce decree. It says it's not acceptable because the judge did not sign it. The issue is, the judge did sign it. He did not sign it on the second page where there is a line for his signature. He signed it on the top of the first page. I called USCIS and the woman I spoke to suggested that I try and get the judge to sign it "where he's supposed to". She said if I cannot then to resend the decree along with an explanation. I called the court today and the woman I spoke with said that my attorney electronically submitted his documentation and that the judge's signature at the top and the stamp is how all electronically submitted paperwork is handled. I personally went to the clerk of the court today and asked if the judge could sign the document on the signature line. The clerk told me he would look into it. I will go back there tomorrow. I am not confident I can get a new signature from the judge. I will also ask if someone from the court could write an explanation for me. If I cannot get either from the court should I just resend with a written explanation? Has anyone else had this issue?

Thanks in advance to any advice you may be able to give me.

  10. Thanks again to all for the advice.

The good news is my Fiancee was able to get her estranged ex to sign the paperwork for her son to leave the country in return for her signing papers to not seek child support anymore. We are free!!!!

We are now planning our next meeting for November. I can't wait to see my beloved girl again. We cannot wait for NOA2.

  11. Thanks for all the extremely valuable feedback.

In hindsight we should have put closure on this issue for certain before sending the petition. We felt that it was covered and it may still be without too much trouble we hope.

You are all a fantastic support system and this forum will continue to be a much needed life line.

    I can't thank you enough.

  12. Hello,

My Fiance and I got all our paperwork together and filed the petition for her K1 Visa. I sent the fedex just Saturday to Texas. She was previously married. She has been divorced for 3 years and has a beautiful 4 year old son. Her ex husband has not seen his child in 2 years. She had made an agreement with her ex husband such that she would remove her child's name from the registration of his flat and stop child support if he would sign the paperwork so that her son could leave with her for America. She went to the passport office yesterday to apply for international passports for her and her son. The people at the office said that her son could not receive a passport because her ex had signed a piece of paper saying that he cannot leave the country. We are both very sad and don't know what we can do now. Her ex is claiming that he will sign the necessary paperwork if she will remove her son's name from the registration and refuse child support first. He can't be trusted though. He says he will not go to court to fix the passport problem. Her lawyer and the passport office have already stated that the passport issue cannot be fixed without court. He will most likely not sign the papers to give up his rights for the child even though he never sees the child.

Has anyone had this type of issue before? Is there any guidance you can offer? If someone has gone through something like this before how were you able to bring the child to America?

Any help and any hope you can offer would be greatly appreciated now.

    Thanks.

  13. If she can't find a place to print them there then have her send them to you by email and print them here. You will have to send documents to her with your signature and can send her the photos at this time. You will need 2 to send in with the initial request and she will need 2 for the medical and 2 for the embassy interview.

Thanks! I didn't even think about just printing out the electronic version here.

  14. I just joined the forum. I met my fiance online a few months ago. We met last week in her home city in Russia and we have decided to start the K1 process. I have reviewed at various places what is necessary to send for the petition. I do not see where a copy of her passport is necessary but she has read on Russian sites that it is. My fiance does not have her international passport yet. Do I need to provide a copy of her international passport with my petition?

    Thanks.
