A passport (even expired) is all the proof he will ever need.  You should have donated that $1170 to charity.

Yes you're righ if a person have a passport in custody. I read a story here at VJ someone had passport and he lost it, he applied along with file search fee but they didn't find and asking him to submit a proof.

So it doesn't hurt if we have certificate of citizenship, in long run if my son need it in any situation.

( you can search for stories where multiple agencies requested Certificate of Citizenship, One example which I mentioned.)

Sorry to hear about your denial. I'm thinking about applying for Global Entry as well. Did you lose your application/membership fee completely or are they refunding it?

Knowing how tourist visa denial from my country is basically like gambling because the fees are never refunded, my guess is no, but I gotta ask.

The fee is non refundable. If I re-submit application again I have to pay for it again. The reason for the denay is "You do not meet the program eligibility requirements".

I don't understand what I didn't met. I never had any issues/crime, even traffic ticket.

  3. Hi Guys, just to update my application for TTP is denied. I checked my dashboard after getting email saying status updated. I don't see any document uploaded or any other info. Just plain saying your application is denied.

I don't understand why , I never had an issue with law or immigration. ( Only reason is I'm a Muslim) I think I will write an email to them once if they upload any document with reason. If you guys have any suggestions please let me know.

I wonder if it's changed, when we applied (approx 2 years ago) an in-person interview was a requirement for a first application. (I seem to recall they took our biometrics at the appointment as well as part of the required process - they definitely took a photo, which is on the physical GE card, i am almost certain fingerprints too.)

Edit: ah, this is what the CBP website says.

After accepting your completed application and fee, CBP will review your application. If your application is conditionally approved, then your TTP account will instruct you to schedule an interview at a Global Entry Enrollment Center. Each applicant must schedule a separate interview.

So I guess you are still waiting for conditional approval. If you get that you will have to have an interview.

Yes, once appliation is conditioanally approved then they will ask to schedule an interview. I recently submitted and waiting for conditional approval.

Could you please tell me more about your experience? if you don't mind what did he really ask you?

Hi, it depends on the IO. Mine is similar story. I had divorced waiver and had an interview for i-751 then I got approved. in 2017 I applied for Citizenship on 5 year role. At interview the officer didn't ask anything about marriage, just the Civic questions/Read/write. Then she approved my N-400.

Hope they will not ask you too but in case please bevprepared.

When you say in review - before or after the interview?

Once you submit the application after payment it will take a week or month to complete the initial review then if an interview is required they will post that at Dash board. After logged in you can see the notification.

If an interview is required then you go ahead and schedule an interview. If interview is not required they will approve your application send a card.

  7. This happened to me every time I come to US. At JFK I did my own US passport scan then with 'X' mark I went to immigration officer, he took me to secondary inspection. Where I sat for 15 to 20 minutes then the officer called and gave my passport back.

It's happening to me regardless of vising Country. I came from UK, Amsterdam, India, KSA and recent visit from Ghana.

This start happening to me once I got my GC. Earlier I was on H1B I had no issues. So now I prepare my self that I have to go secondary.

After this trip I applied for Global Entry but the application is still in review.

I never had an Issue at TSA or boarding plane etc.

I don't want to scare anybody, but my takes longer then 12 months. I filed Feb 22nd, 2017 and as of today (Feb 15th, 2018) I am over the interview, but no oath letter yet.

I had no special issues which could explain why it took (is taking) 12+ months in my case.

Yes, the paper applications taking longer than a year. One of my wife friend submitted last year Feb end and she got interview on Jan 25, 2018 but she went they said they didn't receive her file and she will get another date soon. Since then no update.

You can see online filer cases move faster than paper applications.

Thank you zoom. I applied for a passport for him but they asked me to approve a custody so his father gave me the full custody and now I have a court order from our home country I will translate it and send them soon.. I hope this works

Don't worry just send the custody documents (original) along with other documents they asked, copy of the letter received. You can do a priority mail, put the case tracking no, any date of travel etc. Write a letter stating you're the sole custody of your son etc.

Once you track the post, after couple of days call the passport agency and ask the status and they might request the agent who is holding your son application to call you back. you can explain him once you receive a call.

    Regards.

I have a question .. I have a full custody from my home country and my son's father lives there. Does it work here in USA?

Yes, Did you submitted application for his passport? If not while submitting please include your naturalization certificate, his birth certificate, Green card, and Custody documents or Divorce documents where it should mention you hold the custody.

All should be in Originals. ( Keep a  color copy  or scanned doc with you)

If he is under 16 then your state ID copy, if under 16-18 then if he holds a school ID copy will be good.

I got all original docs along with a letter telling they kept the green card as he doesn't required one as he holds the passport as his citizenship proof in the same passport envelop.

"door to door", mine was actually practically 6 months - I applied in Aug 15 and got the oath on Feb 9. I don't remember the original estimated time to complete, but after the interview, they estimated 4 months (through April), but it took 2 instead. Long story short, I think you can probably guess for ~6 months, with an optimistic 5, uber optimistic 4, or pessimistic 7+.

Would definitely recommend to do an early walk-in for biometrics (pretty much as soon as you have the letter/pdf).

    Good luck!

Mine also took almost 7 months. Submitted online on June 16 and Oath on Jan 12.

you're right it might be between 5 to 7 months.

zoom - yes i have an online account where i can check my statuses. I will just wait for it to get updated. I guess when it comes to this stuff that unknown stuff, you tend to try and find comfort from others who might have had the same experience.

Thank you for your reply, it helps a lot.

Don't worry you will get an update soon.

    Hi ,

He supposed to have removal today, but judge doesnt want to do that because he said theres new law . The judge only explained there is new law which is not allowed to do removal proceedings.

He went today at New york . And judge told him few days ago theres 7 or 8 people also cant do removal .

other then that judge didnt mention anything .

Is that right there is new law about no more removal proceedings ?

Judge only said no need to worry , because my husband already had i601a . So abroad US embassy not gonna give him hard time , and when he arrive at USA shouldnt be have a problem . But who can guarantee that?

He will have the interview at Guangzhou china USA embassy on feb 26 2018 .

Should he just go to guangzhou or no ? Lawyer doesnt allowed him to go  because hes worried cant enter USA anymore .

I~130 was approved few years ago

    Thanks

Hi, I don't know about the new law. I search but didn't find anything , may be a moderator may put a light on it. If he came here on any visa (checked at POE) then he will be eligible to adjust here otherwise he have to attend interview at home country.

I think your lawyer might also worried, as he didn't know about this new law.

    I appreciate the quick reply!

I definitely wouldn't mind applying for the N-600, but for $1,170 for each, I cannot afford that right now...big thanks for the passport tip!!!

Yes, the passport is good but there is a problem if you don't have proof of legal custody document. If you separated with your previous husband you have to submit your divorce decree if it mentioned whom bears the legal custody. If you not married or you don't have mentioned in divorce decree then you must get a legal custody document.

This happened to so many of us, you can see in same forum where it said applying passport etc. I submitted for passport to my son who is 16 then they sent me a letter to send a legal custody document, I called them and also the agent who holds the file called me and he explained to send me divorce decree where it should have me the legal custody, and original GC.

I send them but since 10 days not yet updates.

Is there any chance to corrections employment history. Like someone was doing 2 job in same time.. he put one  employment history.. becuse Pdf file didn't allow put  2 employment history in same date. After biometric fingerprints is there any chance to corrections employment history in interview??

You can correct at the time of interview. let the IO know that you're unable to enter two job for the same period. If you have any evidence working two jobs like Pay stubs or W2 you can bring with you for the period you worked two jobs.

Hi pixie77,  have you made any progress on your daughter's case?  My wife is in a similar situation.  There were never any custody orders in place before her kids immigrated with her (she has since naturalized).  The kids' dads have agreed to sign the DS-3053, but I'm worried that we'll get the same letter back from the State Dept. after we submit their passport applications.  Did you have to get a court order concerning custody, or is some other kind of documentation sufficient?
