  1. Update: I filed my husband's paper work for the I-751 Removal of Conditions...on 04/26/2014 and received the I-797 (NOA) on 04/29/2014. His green card expired 07/18/2014 but was shown to have been automatically extended for 1-year as shown on the I-797 (NOA) on 04/29/2014.

I called the USCIS yesterday, 12/10/2014 to inform the USCIS that the 7-month delayed process of ROC - Removal of Conditions was impacting my husband's work due to he has Class A CDL License and the new trucking company that wants to hire him will not accept the I-797 (NOA) of the extended 1-year in lieu of his Green card. Companies are supposed to honor this letter but his Class A CDL license has to be current for his job for more than 1-year. His regular Class C and Class A CDL license both expire on same date, 07/17/2015.

The representative that I spoke with was very kind and helpful and raised a service request yesterday.

Today I received the following statement in an email to me:

    Type of service requested:
    -- Outside Normal Processing Times

"The status of this service request is:

Recently, you or your representative contacted USCIS concerning your Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence (Form I-751) to notify us that you believe your case is outside normal processing time. Below is a summary of what we found and how the issue has been or may be resolved.

A review of USCIS records indicates your Form I-751 was approved on December 9, 2014. As of the date of this letter, your Permanent Resident Card (PRC) is in the initial stages of production at the Vermont Service Center. We apologize for the delay in production of your card and for any inconvenience it has caused you. If you do not receive your card within 60 days, please contact customer service at the number below.

We hope this information is helpful to you."

So within the next 60 days, we should be receiving his green card. Thank you for all your support and help.

  2. I called USCIS today as I filed my husband's ROC on April 24, 2014 and received my I-797 on 04/29/2014 stating his visa was extended for another year automatically to 07/18/2015.

The USCIS stated I need to call them back in 2 weeks from today as it will have been exactly 7 months for the visa process due to the back log.

So 11/18/2014 will be the exact 7 month date in which I can ask them to submit a service request regarding his Visa ROC processing.

Just some information for you others out there who filed in April 2014 and are waiting on the Vermont Service Center. :secret:

  3. Thank you for all of your replies and suggestions.

He went to get his driver license renewed yesterday and they asked him for his most recent I-797 form.

He did not have it yesterday, so he took it with him today and was able to get his license renewed.

Funny how none of the other papers showing his legal residency, such as our house deed did not matter nor his social security card, just the I-797.

    Thanks. :D

  4. sorry let me re-phrase here as I must have been half asleep earlier:

I am NOW VERY WORRIED because his drivers license and green card have expried as of July 18th, 2014. He cannot get his driver license renewed with out his green card, so this is also a big problem. I have checked to see if he can get a temporary license and they stated he has to have a new green card to show his residency status and that the SSN is not enough.

    What a mess!

Any suggestions at this time would be most helpful?

  5. I filed for my husband who is from Jordan - Removing conditions on residency on the following date:

CIS Office : Vermont Service Center

    Date Filed : 2014-04-26

    NOA Date : 2014-04-29

    RFE(s) : None

    Bio. Appt. : 2014-06-03

The problem now is that after the Biometrics appointment that we had on June 3rd, 2014, we hqve not received anything form the USCIS, no Requests for actions. When I call to check the status, it only states we are to receive their decision by mail.

  6. Hi, We had our biomterics appointment on June 3, 2014 and I still have yet to receive anything.

His visa expired on July 18, 2014, last Friday. Now I am really starting to worry.

When I call USCIS it just states to expect to be receiving something in the mail, nothing more.

I sent several joint account items, as well as my checking / savings account with a selection of dates for the past 2 years which refelected since he got here.

  7. Hello Everyone. I have a couple of questions about the start of the green card renwal process.

My husband has to start his process in April as his (2) years are up in July 2014. I am trying to organize myself and all of his papers for all of this.

The USCIS website has changed so much. I cannot find any information on the actual costs for filing all of these processes this time. I think I have to start with the I-751 form first but have not found anything about how much all of this is going to cost from the beginning to the end. If any of you out there can give some kind of idea, it would be greatly appreciated.

    1) does anyone know the costs involved this time?

    2) can someone point me to the prcess of going through all of this?

Thanks for all of your time and consideration in this matter.

  8. I would never use the post office. Does FedEx or DHL ship to Jordan? I would think they do. It's expensive, but you can track it, and for sure it will arrive.

I would use Aramex which can be used via UPS from the USA to send important documents. My papers arrived to my husband in a matter of 2 days. And yes, DHL does have offices in Jordan. Good luck to you.

  9. Hello and Happy Mother's Day to all you Mothers. I need some advice. My husband is Jordanian and lives in Jordan Valley. He has interview scheduled for his visa on June 3, 2012 at U. S. Embassy in Jordan. He attended Mosal University from 2001 to 2003 but then transferred back to Jordan and finished his college degree at Al Yarmouk University in Jordan. The U. S. Embassy told my husband that he needs to get a Police Certificate from Iraq because he lived there from 2001 to 2003 while he attended the university there. He went to the Iraqi Embassy in Jordan to ask them for help with this certificate. They told him they cannot help him with obtaining this Police Certificate because he is not Iraqi. How can he get this Police Certificate without going to Iraq himself? Does anyone have any suggestions? We are running out of time to resolve this issue. Please help us.

    We have it now...THANKS!

  11. Does he have online banking?

If he has a bank account in Jordan with online banking he can leave it in that account (obviously some cash for anything he buys on the journey with him) and transfer the money once he gets a US bank account or transfer it to your bank account. An easy way to do this is with Paypal (if he doesnt want to or its too expensive to do a direct bank transfer). There will be some fees but it wont be extortionate.

I would not advise him transferring the money to you prior to his interview though. That could raise suspicions. If he is going to do it that way, its best done after he gets approved.

Good luck to you both for his interview!

Thank you for your reply. I really appreciate all of the advice.

  12. I have a question...My husband will be coming from Jordan soon as his interview is scheduled for 06/03/2012. My question is this: When he prepares to leave Jordan he may have around 5000JD or a little less. Does anyone have a suggestion on how he can transfer this money to me, or should he get it as check to deposit here in the USA, or what? I don't think it would be a good idea for him to bring it as cash with him while he checks through the "Port of Entry." Does anyone have any suggestions on this? I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

  13. Hello there.... I am from Raleigh awaiting my husband to come from Irbed... police certs are available to him... it only took about 90 days to hear from USCIS... If you need help... please let me know... and I will do my best... I just did it all and am waiting for my husbands interview date... For now try and relax... there is a whole other process after you are approved for your I-130. Take care.

Hi Diana...Thank you so much for your reply. My husband, Maher is from Kraimeh but he lives in Jubaiha with friends on weekends and teaches Chemistry in Ma'an during the week. He does not understand the process about the Police Certificate. It would help if he knew someone like your husband to tell him exactly what he needs to at the Police Department. I know he has at least 3 months to get this but when he does the document he needs, he will email to me for English translation.

My email is rasmussen.donna@gmail.com and my cell is (919) 605-5738. I live in Raleigh near Cary Town Center Mall of I-40. I would love to meet you for coffee sometime so we can share our stories.

Maher Alsarhan mobile in Jordan is 962786138535 if you would like to give to your husband. I am sure they could help each other, too.

Again I thank you so much for all your kindness.

    Donna

  14. I filed my petition for IR-1/CR-1 August 16, 2011 for my husband, Maher who is living in Amman, Jordan while I am here in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA. The USCIS received all his papers and sent NOA to me on 08/19/2011. We are now waiting for approval.

I have asked my husband to see about getting the Police certificates and court records if he has any. He does not have a criminal background so I guess Police Certificates will be all he needs.

I do have a question: If Police Certificates are not available, would he need to get a letter from the Police stating that he has no records?

Any way, we are just waiting for approval for the next (5 months) so we can start the next process.
