  1. One thing Kristine&Seam you have to realize is TracyJo and I are both dealing with the highest fraud country in the world. It is not easy at all. And in that last few years there's been a rise in younger men/older women so that has their "fraud alert" ears up. So for us we have to present extra extra evidence and mainly for us time together and frequent visits or long stays is the best evidence ever.

But still all that evidence you mentioned for anybody sure doesn't hurt.

Man that definitely stinks that you have to deal with that! Thanks for letting me know though. I definitely want to be very prepared for all the next steps in this visa process. So any advice anyone gives on here I completely appreciate.

  2. I will place a call to my bank in the AM and see if they can do the same! Thanks for the info. Anything will help at this point. My husband does not have life insurance, but he does have a bank account and I will see if he can just add me to it. Thanks again for the idea! :)

We already filed, interviewed and was denied. And we did the affidavits as well.

So phone/text records, emails, photos, passport stamps weren't enough for the interview? I'm going to have to look into more things to get our names on together then. I already checked with my bank and they won't let me put his name on without a SS#. It's so annoying. I wonder what else we could put our names on?

  3. Have you sent in an I- 130? If so, I had the same problem thinking of what we could send in. When I read up on it you can have someone complete an affidavit (from a 3rd party, I did 3 affidavits) that can explain your situation, how they know you, and explain that you have a bona fide marriage. I hope this helps at all. Like you said without a SS# in the US they really don't let you do pretty all of those things.

  4. They're halfway through October filings posted on VJ already, so I personally don't believe the 8/2 thing. From looking at other people's timelines (a very painful thing to do!!) it seems like whether it takes 3 months or 7 months is purely luck. Have you tried calling your congressman? They might be willing to do an inquiry. Not sure if that helps though. Hang in there!!

I have not contacted my congressman as of yet. I'm thinking of doing that just because anything is worth a try right now. It really does seem like it's luck right now. Because I was looking and there are alot more september applicants that are getting approved. Hopefully it'll be picked up sometime soon!

  5. Hi, I am in Kansas and my husband is in Ireland. I actually already emailed the Kansas congresswoman about a week ago and haven't even received a generic response from them. So disappointing. I guess I don't really need to call if they told you that. Although I called them Feb 14th and they told me exactly what they told you yesterday, wait another 30 days. Do they realize they are playing with people's lives? I'm sure they do. It is so hard. I have seen my husband once since he left here the beginning of August (it took us a month to get our papers in order). Do you get to visit your husband much? I heard that petitioners in another country can't come here while waiting. Is this true? On the brighter side, absence makes the heart grow fonder! =) I hope you get your NOA2 soon (us too)!!!!

Thanks so much for the well wishes :) Our story is similar to yours. We got married on July 1st (very close to your wedding date) and it took us about a month or so to get all our paper work together and check a million times to make sure it was all in order (and even after checking it, it's always hard not to worry that you did something incorrect) and then we got the NOA1 on sept. 15th. They can never truly realize until they go through it all. Maybe if they had been through it before it would go a little faster. It seems like they get insane amounts of applications a day though. We try to see each other as much as we can, but of course the cost of the airfare is ridiculous! (as I'm sure you are well aware of). Luckily since I'm a teacher I was over in Scotland last for the whole summer. Sean (my husband) came over for Christmas for 3 weeks just recently. I am leaving for Scotland for 10 days for Spring break and then I have already bought a ticket for staying in Scotland for the whole summer again because there is no way our visa process is going to be done by mid august with the way it's going now. Sean didn't have a problem coming over to the US at all when he came over for Christmas. I haven't been over to Scotland since the wedding but I'm hoping that I won't run into any problems either (I wouldn't see why I would though since we are applying for him to come to the US). I have heard on here that some people have had problems coming into the US but if you have proof of job, and mortgage and things like that then they usually let you in. It's all craziness what everyone has to go through to get their other half here!

  6. Same with us. So frustrating.

My husband and I are teachers. I am currently working at a university. My husband has been promised in so many word that he would have a job there too if he can get his greencard in time. I am afraid he is going to miss out due to us waiting so long. Is this a good enough reason to expediate? We are very concerned about this. If he doesn't get this greencard in time we will have to move somewhere else..again. any advice? Thanks everyone.

We have the exact same NOA1 date. I'm a teacher as well. We are still waiting also for our NOA2. I just called yesterday and they said it could be another 30 to 45 days. I really hope the man was over estimating and that it won't take that much longer. This waiting process is just crazy! I wish you good luck! I know some people are writing letters to their congressman/woman for them to call. I haven't proceeded with that just yet because other people have told me that they will just tell the congressman/woman the same thing they have told us. So frustrating isn't it! Where are you living right now? I'm in Maryland and my husband is in Scotland. Crossing my fingers for all of us!

  7. Called USCIS today... they basically told me everything that everyone has been saying on here. They told me the CSC is back logged and right now they are working on applications filed on Aug. 2nd. From reading the forums on here it seems like they have been telling people Aug. 2nd for a little while now. I'm hoping that by now they are a little past that date. My husband and I filed our I-130 on Sept. 15th and they told us to wait 30 to 45 more days and if we don't hear anything by then we are to call again. I guess there is nothing we can do but continue with this horrible waiting game! If anyone has any advice for us or are in a similar situation let me know. Thanks!

  8. Have you called USCIS yet? That should be your first move. If they state they are working on "such as such" date and its before your date then calling your congressman won't do much good as that is the answer they will give the congressman also. Last I read they were stating they are working on August... Ya I know they are spitting out September and even October, I'm just saying what I have read they have told others.

Call USCIS see what they say first.

Thanks so much for the advice! Going to call them tomorrow to see what they say. Crossing my fingers that things will happen sooner than later!
