Hi guys, i sent London an email to remind them that my student visa in the uk expires at the end of november and to ask for any advice they can give me and they replied,
"Thank you for your email.
As you are aware, your application is subject to additional administrative processing, which is mandatory and cannot be waived. There is no set period if time that it takes to complete and there is no way to expedite processing. If your status in the UK will expire, and you depart the United Kingdom to return to the Lebanon, before processing in your case can be completed, your case will be transferred to the Embassy in Lebanon for processing to be completed.
If you depart the United Kingdom, please advise the Immigrant Visa Unit as soon as possible"
so is that mean if i ask them to transfer my case to Lebanon then i will have to go through everything again?? ( interview, medical, and AP starts over from 0? or what, i don't want to bother them with my emails anymore, did anyone have similar situation??
any help is highly appreciated

Hello everyone, is there anyone that applied at London and still going through AP ?
-
Thanks guys, i really appreciate your replies!
i just realized that she didn't ask for form DS-230 part II !! is that normal as well ? are they gonna ask for it with the passport when AP is over?? as i know the CO should help me to fill it in, how is she supposed to help me doing so if i'm not gonna have another interview? did it happen to anyone before? and as i've seen on VJ that most people who got AP, they have been told that they are approved on the interview day, why wasn't i told so? sorry for all the questions but they're all hanging around our heads.

i've had my interview today at London, my fiancee attended the interview with me, i was called to one of the windows and was asked for I-134, birth certificate, police clearances from uk and from my native country(Lebanon), i gave the lady all the requested documents, and then she gave me the pink courier form and asked me to fill it in while waiting for my number to be called again, we waited forever, all numbers before and after my number were called while we were waiting and finally i've been called to another window where there was an american lady, she gave me a form and asked me to print my fiancee name and sign it n give it back to her,and then took the oath, after that she asked me when did we meet and then she asked how did we get engaged and she wanted my fiancee to answer this question,n then she said how much time did you spend together and i told her the first trip was for 2 weeks and then the second one was for 2 weeks as well and then this was the last trip and she is been with me for 6 months, and after that she said the good news is i'm not gonna ask for any more documents, but you application will go through AP, and then she said this can take from a few weeks to a few months or sometimes it can be longer than that and then i said i'm a student here and i've just finished my course and my visa will expire in 40 days and then she said well give me one second , she went to speak to her colleague next door and then she came back and said i'm sorry but there is nothing i will be able to do to speed up the process, call the UKBA and tell them about your situation. and evatually she was gonna keep my passport but she said well take it with you and i asked her about the pink form and then she said well tear it up, you will have to contact the courier service when your visa is ready. i asked her but are we approved? and then she said, "i can't say you are approved until you received your visa right?"<(sarcastically) and then i said thank you and left with my fiancee in disappointment
what really worry me that she didn't ask for new evidence, even though i prepared many photos of us together plus other evidence, she didn't ask for my passport pictures and she didn't give me form 221g!! did she forget or what?? she was nervous while she was talking to me for some reason. i hope that this AP doesn't take forever

hi there, i'm the U.S. citizen, i used my credit card to pay the visa fee, on the MRV receipt it states, "You are required to print this receipt, have the credit cardholder sign the acknowledgement below and submit it with your completed visa application package. If you do not submit the signed receipt, your application will be returned to you unprocessed."
and then it says "Applicant must read and sign below" and there is only only one space to sign next to the word "Applicant" so who should sign the receipt? my fiance or myself ? in our case the cardholder and the applicant is not the same person...
any replies are highly appreciated.

So I sent the embassy an email telling them that she is willing to attend the interview with me, and then they replied saying she needs to bring her passport to the interview. Two days later, i received packet 4 with instructions to send my fiancee's name as soon as possible so that they can arrange access to the Embassy for her. They did not specify how to reply to them. My question is, should I reply to the Embassy by post mail or by email to let them know her full name?

Thanks guys, i felt much better when i checked the package status today and it said "delivered"
i was wondering if we need to have form I-134 and its supporting documents( bank letter, letter from the employer etc..) notarized!?
i was reading that some embassies require them to be notarized ... i'm not sure about London!...
also can i have the bank letter faxed or do i need to take the original to the interview? my fiancee's Dad (co-sponsor) received his bank letter by fax since he lives in a different state and then he had mail it to us. is that ok??
-
Thank you and sorry for late reply, i hope it's not gonna take forever before they schedule me an interview.... and hope everything will be ok.
i've sent package 3 and done my medical examination, and the embassy was meant to receive my package 3 by today, and i have just tracked my package at postoffice.co.uk and it gave the following message: An attempt to deliver your item was made on 05/09/11 but we were unable to deliver as there was no access to the delivery address. The Item will be returned to WEST LONDON to await instructions from the addressee or will be returned to sender. You can arrange a redelivery online, call the WEST LONDON office to arrange a re-delivery, or collect the item from WEST LONDON by bringing proof of identification and address.
what is that supposed to mean ?? the embassy doesn't receive mails on mondays?? or shall i call them first to be able to send my package 3 ?? i've sent it to the right address which is
Immigrant Visa Unit
United States
5 Upper Grosvenor Street
London W1A 2JB
i hope they don't lose my pacage

Thank guys,
i ordered my police certificate last friday, i should receive it within the next 2 days,
Congratulations
, i had a feeling that you would hear from them soon
so your interview is after 21 days from submission of packet 3 ? or do you mean they informed you to schedule the interview after 21 days? if so, what date is your interview?
i don't think that i have any vaccination records, do you have any idea about how much it will cost? i know that i can get them done for free through my GP but i've also heard that if i have my vaccination done just a few days before the medical examination, there is a possibility that it can interfere with my blood test result( i'm not sure if that is right) so i'm kinda hesitant... gotta walk into my GP and ask about it
n Thank you for the phone number, i think i will ring them a week after my medical is done, what do you think?
now get everything ready for the interview and don't forget to make copies of everything. you are almost there!
i'm praying for you.

Thank you for the cover letter. i couldn't see it on here to be honest because it requires microsoft office but i will look at it when i go to an internet cafe.
i'm not sending any pics, i'm only gonna send the forms plus the cover letter.
i haven't done my medical examination yet. i booked an appointment for the next week. and still waiting for my police certificate to arrive...
so did you call or email the consulate? and what was their answer?
i hope you will receive your package 4 this week. is everything ok with your police certificate?
le
well i'm confused about question number 8 on form DS-157.
Full Name and Address of Contact Person or Organization in the united states(include phone number) do you think i should put my fiancee's address and phone number or someone else who is already in the states since my fiancee is staying with me in the uk for a few months?
i can't type on form DS-2001 , should i print it off and handwrite everything ?? or is there any thing i can do to be able to type on it?
i'm pretty much done with the forms except for that question, did you send package 3 before you medical ?? yes i'm the beneficiary
-
My fiancee is in the uk with me at the moment, should i still put her name, address and telephone number on question 8 on DS-157 or shall i put her dad's name who is currently in the U.S. in case they wanna call?
-
Thank you again,
Did you send any passport pictures with your package 3 to the embassy? or is it literally only the forms + cover letter that you send ?
also we don't know which day we are getting married yet, do you think this is something negative ?? and what should we say if asked about that?
Another thing, do you have any suggestions or examples of a cover letter, package 3? Have you received package 4 yet?
-
you are right, better safe than sorry.
i don't know where i read that there's a form that we should send by email to the embassy!! has anyone read something like that!

My fiancee has her 2010 tax return transcript but she does not have the actual 1040 form and W-2. my question is, can i only use the 2010 tax return transcript for the I-134? or must i submit her 2010 tax form 1040 and W-2 as well ???
- and she didn't meet the poverty requirements to sponsor me in 2008 and 2009, so would this be a problem? and should she submit these years info or is 2010 good enough?
- she does meet the poverty requirements for 2010
any replies is highly appreciated

i will post a new topic. thanks coconuts

Thank again guys, and that's what i'm gonna do.
regarding the I-134, are the payslips necessary?? my fiancee has been here with me for the last 5 months, she is still has her job when she goes back as she took LEAVE OF ABSENCE from work, we have:
1- letter from her employer (as instructed)
2 letter of LEAVE OF ABSENCE from her job for 6 months
3- letter from the bank
4- 2010 tax return transcript ( we don't have the 1040 or W-2)
is what we have enough ?? or should we include payslips, 1040 and W-2 ?
-

Thank Jilli & Ales
I have a question regarding form DS-156, do you think i should sign both copies as they appear as originals, or sign one as original and print a copy of it??? (hope that doesn't sound confusing)
and i didn't pay the visa fee yet, i think i'm gonna pay on the same day when i send off package 3 or shall i pay before that day ?
-
The instructions says that we should send DS-230 Part I, 2 copies of DS-156, DS-156k and 2 copies of DS-157 at first, and then, later on when we are ready we send the form DS-2001 plus a covering letter containing the email address, date of medical and date of wedding,
but do you think it's a problem if i send all the forms together at once with form DS-2001 and covering letter instead of sending 2 separate mails on 2 separate dates?? has anyone done that?
and just out of curiosity, does anyone know why they request 2 copies of DS-156 and DS-157?? :0
Are you currently in ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING?
