    My K1 visa application was approved just before Christmas. Does anybody know when or how you know the NVC have received your approved application? Will I be notified by email? Any help would be great!

      Hi there you can phone them in 2 weeks and ask if they have received your petition, or you can email them and ask them, make sure to give your referance number..

    Does anyone know if I can travel to the US while waiting for my K1 visa? I only want to go for two weeks?

      Yes, I went many times and didnt get any unusual questions at immigration. However you cant go after your visa has been awarded by the Embassy unless you are emigrating for real, as you probably know.

      That's great thank you. I was just worried I would be asked for some 'proof' that I was returning and apart from my return ticket I couldn't think of what to take but if they don't ask then that's a relief!

    Does anybody know at what point we file the affidavit of support for the K1 visa? Will that be one of the forms we are told to fill out when the packet 3 arrives? I have also read that this form doesn't need to be submitted until the adjustment of status stage?? Confused!!

      Yes, affidavit of support is needed at the interview and should be in packet 3 as a requirement.

      I submitted it in packet 3, and realised we should take it with us to interview, so had a real scramble getting all the proof together again. At the interview, the original I sent in was in the paperwork and my duplicate wasnt even looked at - but that was my expereince.

    All the best today, just read your history and thanks for the pieces of advice (especially about setting a date!). It's a long scary wait but it makes me happy to hear a fellow brit is happy and the system does eventually work! All the best
