  1. Hi all, my husband and I want to visit the US this summer. We have no intention of staying, I just wanted my family to meet my husband and our daughter. I understand that since my husband is married to a USC he has to have overwhelming proof that we will not stay. Other than providing our Rental contract for our apartment, Car payment and other bill statements is there anything else that we can provide that will show overwhelming proof? Also he does have 2 brothers in the states who are USC's. Are the odds stacked against us? I would not want to travel with a 1 year old alone. Thanks!

Hi there! I am USC spouse and I applied Tourist Visa last 2011 and was granted a 10-year multiple entry Visa. They didn't ask or look for any documents from me though I bought my proofs/evidences of employment, economic, and social ties in my country. It depends on the CO, some asks docs, some do not. Just let your husband bring all your proofs of ties in Lebanon in case the CO will look for one. I visited USA last November 2012. Hope this helps! All the best for your husband's application.

  2. So, our immigration is at a stand still and at some point we might just cancel it all together. We would be happy if my wife could just get a tourist visa to the states and visit my family for maybe a month and us return to the philippines.

How impossible is it for the wife of a usa citizen to get a tourist visa?

Hi there! Since we are not living in the States, we opted Tourist Visa route so I can visit US and meet my husband's family and friends. I once denied once but tried for the second time. I was granted a 10-year multiple entry Visa and now I am in the States for one month.

    God bless

  3. Hi! Sorry to hear about her denial. I can exactly relate because I was also denied last year when I applied for the first time. They said that I would just wait for my husband's retirement to be able to come as a visitor if we will not pursue Spousal route. Well, it was frustrating but what can't we do. My husband is a strong believer that I can have Tourist Visa so I applied for the second time last June. Wow! Amazingly and graciously favored by God, I was approved and granted a 10-year multiple entry Visa. I am currently in the US now for a visit for a month.

Please let her try one more time. Hoping and praying for the best of you getting the Visa.

    God bless

  4. Hi there, I hope you can answer some questions i have about the requirements before the interview. My bro is scheduled for a tourist visa interview this coming oct 2nd.

we are confused because he already filled out ds forms online and also scheduled his appointment online. What we are not sure of though, is the confirmation appointment he should

bring with him on the day ofhis interview. Is that documentation different from the DS forms? and which one hasthe barcode? and how or what webpagecan he go, fill out and print? TIA

The CEAC will be sent through his e-mail. He just need to print it because the people in charge outside USEM will be looking for it together with his passport. The CEAC is the one which has a barcode. After DS 160 being submitted and after setting an appointment, he will receive the CEAC and appointment schedule. Both should be printed, but the most important one is the CEAC. God bless

    I hope this helps:-)

  5. When I was denied entry i was allowed to call my husband they treated me with respect and kindness. POE MIA

Hi! May I know why you were denied of entry? Did they explain why you are not allowed to enter USA?

    Thanks for your answer:-)

  6. Hi there! I tried getting Tourist Visa last month and I was granted a Multiple Entry for 10 years:-). We don't intend to stay in the US so we prefer TV.

God bless! She can always try again. I was denied last year and tried again then I was granted this wonderful blessing.

  7. I came from a very poor family much worse, when both of my parents died, I had a very difficult and painful life along the way. There were times when you think that life was unfair and I was somehow blinded on what was the future held for me. But this reality never discouraged me but instead pushed me to dream even bigger things in the future. When I had scholarship opportunity (Praise the Lord!), I studied hard, so focused and very determined to reach my goals and dreams in life. Hardships in life, poverty and losing both parents paved my way to where I am right now (by God's grace). Like me, my husband is futuristic, goal-oriented, and a dreamer. We share the same goals and future for our family. He is very consultative and help me open up what I desire in the future and I do the same as well.

Just give her more time to slowly open up about the future. She will eventually speak up when the right time comes. Just be consistent on becoming a futuristic and dreamer. She will get by along the way. I understand that it's quite hard if only the other partner is thinking about the future and you seem like dragging her. She will realize someday that it is the two of you who will build your future and her inputs and ideas are very crucial and important. I pray that everything will work out for you. God bless and keep you safe in His loving arms:-)

  8. Hi Jane_smith,

Once again, Congrats! I'm very thankful that you may answered what I'm asking. It may can helpful for my interview. Your situation is almost the same. My wife and kids are US LPR and I just wanted to visit them. I got two times refused applying tourist visa but I'm still fighting to obtain a visa. Again, thank you so much.

    jj

You are always welcome jj! I pray that God will favor you again as He did to me. Yes, that is the spirit...continue fighting and trying to obtain your visa. God bless you!

  9. Could you pls. state what are the question during your interview? Pls. share with us. Thank you very much.

    jj

Hi there! I am so sorry for the late reply.

Anyway, the CO asked me the following:

1.) How long have you been married?

    - Two years and one month.-

2.) Has your husband filed any petition for you?

    -No!-

    3.) Why?

-Because of the nature of my husband's work, we decided that I will not be staying

in the US. I will just visit his family, friends, and look around where he grew up-

4.) Where is your husband and what is his work?

-He is based outside the US and he works for _______________ (sorry I cant' reveal here).

5.) When are you going to the US?

    -October 2012-

    6.) How long?

    - just a month-

7.) So when he retires, he will stay here in the Philippines?

    -Yes, Ma'am-

The she said, okay your visa is approved! Wait for it to be delivered within a week. Then I thanked her and walked away.

God bless! I hope this helps!

  10. Thanks everyone! My husband's work is outside the US and staying in the Philippines is the best option for us so we can see each other more often as he is stationed somewhere closed to the Philippines. I just want to visit his place and meet his family and friends for the first time during his approved leave at the end of this year. Thanks everyone!

  11. Just curious and uneducated in the matter. But why a tourist visa if you are already married?

Hi there! We are not intending to stay in the US due to my husband's work outside the US that is why I just applied for a Tourist Visa so I can visit his place and meet his family and friends for the first time.

Thanks a lot! God bless you:-)

  12. Hi everyone! I just want to share a very wonderful good news that my tourist visa application was approved today. My husband and I are rejoicing for this very wonderful blessing to both of us. I was denied last year and we thought of trying again this year.

The CO just asked few questions mostly about my husband. I just answered correctly, concisely, politely, and honestly. She didn't look at my prepared documents but it's just fine, the important thing is I was granted a visa after my second attempt.

    God bless everyone!

  13. Hi there! You will know there is still slots for those months if you are already going to set an appointment after filling the DS 160 form and paying the Visa fee.

When I scheduled mine last April June and July are almost full but blessed to get June 26 as my schedule. But you can try calling USEM if they can give you available slots even without filling forms and paying yet. God bless!

  14. I E-filed and got my refund back within 2 weeks. I typically don't get a refund (2011 I got married, so it was a unique situation), because I don't like loaning my money to the government especially when they don't pay me interest for it. If you haven't already, try checking the IRS website about where's my refund?

    http://www.irs.gov/newsroom/article/0,,id=254102,00.html

Thank you Reyan for the reply! I did try the "Where is my refund" option but they said that they cannot find any information about us. That is weird!

    Thanks again! God bless you!

Those that file by paper get their returns much later this year, there was a news article about this... the IRS is trying to persuade people to file electronics.

Thank you you so much! Wow! Really? That is scary! My husband is freaking out already and would be more if he knows about this. Thank you for your reply.

    God bless!

  15. Hello everyone! I hope you are all well. I just want to ask if anyone is on the same situation with us.

We filed ITR by paper last March 14 but until now we haven't received any refund yet. We are concern

because we got ours last year less than a month after filing. What do you think is the problem? Any inputs and ideas

are greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

  16. Hello, I am inquiring about tourist visa. I've been married for 3 years now to an American citizen. He has a permanent residency here in Philippines. We have all assets here in the Philippines. We are planning to visit my in-laws there U.S as I have never met them in person yet as well as just want to travel for leisure, also. We don't have intentions to stay as we have many plans here in Philippines. My question is, will they grant my visa? We don't want to process IR or spousal visa as we don't have plans to live there. IF we did we supposed to apply long time ago but we really dont have plans to stay. Please advise me thanks.

    Shane.

Hi there! Same here we are not intending to live in the US because of the nature of my hubby's work so we prefer that I live here in PI and keep my economic, social and family. I tried applying for a Tourist Visa last August 2011 but the CO immediately denied me just knowing that I am a USC wife. I brought many evidence of strong ties but he didn't bother looking at them. I told him that I am not intending to live in the US. Maybe I didn't convince him that much. I am trying again this year as my hubby's wish. I hope everything goes well with you and keep us posted. God bless!

  17. My wife sleeps like a bear in hibernation. I set an alarm clock for her at full volume and after 30 minutes of the alarm going off,she was still sleeping

A hotel room for 7 hours sounds good to me, but I am afraid if she falls asleep, she will not

wake up in time to catch her flight

Aw! Same here..the alarms give up on me..lol! Well she can request for a wake up call from the Hotel. We did that when we had an early flight last time. Hope you figure out something for her soon. God bless!
