  1. Hey Mani,

I am soooo happy for you! I thought and prayed for you all day today. I was unable to check VJ @ work because I was so busy. But trust me you were on my mind. I am happy the interview was a success! My fiance knows all the answers to the questions your fiance was asked except we both have no children. God is good!

Thank you so much, I really appreciate that..He told me that once inside he was so confident because he was like why would they possibly not approve him lol...and I gave him an advice...which was to say hi when he came in and be polite, IDK if that helped but he said when he did that she smiled, and asked him how he was doing...etc..

  2. Finally, he is almost here!!! we were approved today, I will put a review here and also on consulate reviews

he got there at 5:45AM, he was the third person in line for the visa line, when he got to the front the security told him he should have been in the green card line after looking at his interview letter...so he was a little upset because that line was longer..once inside the first person he came in contact with asked for the original receipt for the visa, he told them he sent it with the application, she told him they have all the pics. and just wait for them to call his name.

he sat near the same consulate that would call his name, he did not want to go to her because she gave out alot of denials... when he got to her window, she had our pictures in her hand, she went over them several time while smiling then she asked him to tell her a little story about our relationship, which he did, than the questions

    1) what is my date of birth

    2) how old am

    3) How old is he

4)do I have any kids, and how many..He told her one and she was like are you sure it's not two??? and he was like I'm sure it's only one..

    5)Does he have any kids

6)She saw his daughters name on the APP. and she asked who she was

    7) Where do I work

    8)What am I studying

BTW...when he went to her station he said he saw his passport with the yellow paper on it already, which meant they pretty much already approved it..

When he went to go pay the 10 dollars, they said that it would be 15 dollars, but they did not have change for his 20, so they told him to pay it when he go pick up his passport...

The consulate was pretty easy for US..Front loading worked in our advantage because they did not ask him for anymore evidence, although he was prepared to show them...

I'm really excited, and can't believe we are done with this phase...thank you so much fellow VJ members that helped me, this site is wonderful!!!

When I told him I needed to come on here to update our status he was like I thought that was done automatically, isn't this the embassy site, I laughed and said nope it's just alot of people with similar processes sharing there experience and helping others!!!

  3. Hi Mani0118 for the interview bring more pics and proof of on going relationship. Only answer what they ask. The questions are pretty basic. The wait may be long though so bring snacks. No liquids. Are you going? Read the previous interviews some of the questions they ask are in the Haiti reviews.

Hope this helps you and your boo.

    Chynna

Thanks Chynna...I'm not going to be there but we have all of that covered, june 1st felt so long but we were on the phone last night and we were like dam that's 2 weeks from now...I can't believe it's almost over!!

  4. It should be stressed that you should file as soon as possible, however. Once your 90 days expires, the alien is overstaying their visa and accumulating says of illegal presence. These days are irrelevant/forgiven once the AOS is approved, but the alien risks detention (slim but real) and the alien will not be able to participate fully in normal life, like working or traveling internationally. Once the AOS packet is sent out and the check cashed, the alien begins a NEW period of authorized presence.

This makes more sense, because the last thing I want is complications with immigration!!!

  5. Hi vjers..lol...so we have our interview on june 1st...yayyyy congrats to us!!!

Ok, so for those who have interviewed before us with PAP(Haiti), what are some of the must haves to bring along with to the interview, and also what are

some things to avoid, in my opinion I feel like sometimes less is more, therefore answer only

the question your being asked and of course honesty is the best policy...any tips would be greatly appreciated!!

  6. Read 'evidence of engagement' as evidence of your ongoing relationship and submit statements of intent to marry dated closer to the interview than the ones you already submitted with the original application. The US government does not regulate how you celebrate your engagement, whether you bought engagement ring(s) or anything like that.

Thanks...when I was going through my k1 package I saw our letters of intent and that rung a bell...and I'm guessing the tickets and pictures etc...

  7. If you had to pick one, would you rather be at the interview, or go to the mate's country and come with them to the US for the first time??? not only it would be there first trip into the country for most of us, but from what I read those POE agents can be very tough, and if your fiance does not know the language well that can add to the problem??? so which one would you suggest???

  8. for those who have not visited the PAP consulate web page latelly, the cost of the visa has increase to $404.00

"The current fee for processing an immigrant visa application is $404.00 per applicant. These fees are normally paid directly to the National Visa Center. Fees should not be paid at the embassy unless requested specifically by a consular employee. If an individual is requested to pay at the U.S. Embassy by a consular employee, the fee can be paid in US dollars or Haitian gourdes to the Consular Section’s Cashier only. Traveler's checks may be accepted under certain circumstances. We do not accept personal checks. You can pay with the following credit cards: Visa, Master Card, Discover, and American Express."

they also state that the medical should not cost anymore that $150 unless u need extra things done. this is the link to the page http://haiti.usembassy.gov/getting-a-medical-examination.html

I've read that there are some crooked DR. down there so can anyone suggest a good doctor that can get the job done without over charging?

and also does the doctor send the results to the embassy or do my fiance have to wait on it (my fiance is not from PAP)

  9. So I received my hard copy yesterday, stating that my petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate (which is port au prince)...so now what????

-how do I know that haiti has received the petition?

    -what should I be preparing?

-does my fiance receive packet 3.5 or do I receive it?

-and how long should it take for him to receive the packet or any information regarding the case?

-Can I pay for the visa with my debit card or should I send the money to haiti?

    P.S

He did take his vaccination shots but has lost the records, anyone know how he can retreive it in haiti?

and also where do they ussually have haiti messenger located?

  10. I couldn't believe the surprise I had when I came back from the gym to see a USCIS envelope waiting on the table for me... After my legs got to shaking and quaking I finally build up the courage to peep inside and there it was WE GOT APPROVEDD!....... I screamed I cried I screamed and cried so much emotions WOW... I had to share the news with my Haiti family first for all the warm wishes and messages of encouragement left on my profile THANK YOU and pray for us on the next level... I CANT BELIEVE IT!

Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....I'm sooooooooo happy for you...and so excited that we aren't that far apart on NOA2 dates...wow.....I'm so excited!!!!

  11. Hey mani0118 after getting your NOA2 the expenses start....You will get packet 3 and ask for it via email. It will never reach your fiance by mail. Then the medical needs to be done for your fiance. It does not cost what packet 3 says it will. It is way more money than that. Then you get a date for your interview. Make sure your fiance has a full copy of everything you sent to the embassy.

Will you be going to the interview?

    Chynna

Hey chynna...well I would love to go, so we will see..but do you remember how much it was for the medical...he has everything else ready except for the medical and the police report thing...lol... and what is the cost of the visa? the reason why I ask, I believe there are different prices floating out there...

  12. i think i should point out to someone that Haiti is NOT IN AFRICA, therefore should not be in the Africa: Sub-Saharan regional forum...Haiti is in the Caribbean.

mani-you must getting anxious! haha! you have been on here a lot more lately, now that it is getting closer to the time for our NOA2s!!!! i hope it is soon for both of us!!!

I just can't wait...but you know what... what I'm really focused on is that approval from haiti, sometimes you get approved here and in haiti you're denied...so maybe there's a reason why they're working longer and harder on our cases... Stay positive we'll get there soon!!!
