  1. From my own experience, I did not find something until I did not go door to door to leave resumes. Please do not get upset, but your English does not seem good enough for the type of job you want, you said you have a language degree, you can try Interpreters Unlimited if you want to work from home. They are a legit company working with the Gov. Third, you just need to start somewhere( store, restaurant, DMV, banks, insurance, selling houses, tutoring, volunteering, summer job...) and go from there. Opportunity will come, your driving skills will improve. I have a master degree in my country and started in a call center, two jobs later ended up doing quality control, pays a lot better and I actually like it. Good luck!!

  2. He needs to go to his university town and see if they have any work and travel programs, J1 visa or HB visas, opair, they are 3 months or 6 months visas, he comes here, he works, he meets people and who knows maybe he falls in love and adjusts to GC, just a thought, do some research ;)

  3. I am in the same situation, I just reapplied for my work permit, sent the pack a couple of days ago with no additional check, just a copy of the NOA I received for my AOS, hopefully I won't have to lose my job :(

I, too I am seriously taking into consideration contacting the senator, I pay taxes right?!?

  4. ok, for a town in Ok, small place with something that resembles a mall and a few restaurants you would pay something like this for a one bedroom apartment in a decent area:

    500 rent

40-80 electric( depending on month, max 100, 110 in the winter)

    50 cable

    25 internet

30-50 water( includes trash and it's on the expensive side in the summer because of the pool)

you pay extra on rent if you have pets

washing is 1.5 per load and 1.5 to dry

    Hope this helps you

  5. I use trac phone here and magic jack to talk to my parents, no ipones or expensive stuff like that, make a budget, pay bills first, do groceries on post( cheaper and no tax-military) I use coupons a lot and follow a lot of freebies sites on facebook. I closed all netflix, grabloid yahoo accounts and other stuff with monthly subscription, take the newspaper with coupons from Walmart on Sunday night when it's free lol, cook at home, make coffee at home, use less air conditioning, we don't use credit cards, use restaurnat coupons, pay everything in cash not in monthly installments, I like to own stuff not feel like the bank owns it. BUy stuff on sale( clothes, food. Buy plane tickets early, drink tap water lol

  6. I will post some things I do different then my husband. I don't like ice in my drinks, I don't like fans and air conditioning( he is burning for real with me lol) I change my street clothes too, I don't use the dish washer, I rarely use my street shoes in the house, I never use a bath cloth( yuk), I allays lock the door, even if I go to take the trash out or check the post, I immediately shower after a haircut, I also wash my teeth before eating, I don't give big tipps, and me too I like using spray on not stick( degree at walmart, I don't use ranch or other souses in my salads and I eat them with the meat not before. I never eat frozen food from the supermarket and I buy the most expensive bread that resembles the European one. No sticky bread for me.

  7. If he makes more then that and does not have any kids, does not claim anyone else on his tax return then it will be enough and you don't need a co-sponsor. Just last years tax return is enough.

Translate your birth certificate if it's not in English( mine is in 3 languages). A certified divorce decree from US court costs 5 dollars better to send a certified one,( if you are talking about yours then it needs to be a legalized translation) I sent one legalized copy of my marriage license( they gave us 5 when we got married they cost 5 dollars each at the courthouse) and two copies, one for EAD one for Ap.

Sponsors household size now it's 2( you and him).

On your first question you should put no, your husband it's not applying with you, you apply for yourself.

    Hope this helps

  8. I applied online.. Cause i dont know how to drive yet.. I know its a plus if you apply in person.. I will go try that this coming days.. Thanks!

I don't drive either, my husband took me to all the places in his day off, start with places around you or with the ones that have the same schedule like your husband so he can take you back and forth. Is there a bus where you live?

  9. Congrats!!

Salary can vary depending on what state you live in. if you are in some places in the midwest per example and making $10/hr that might seem like decent money but that that same $10, in NY, or LA, or San Francisco it's not even peanuts.

I agree, I also think there are better opportunities in bigger cities, unfortunately I am in a little one in the middle of nowhere lol so I am happy I found something, I am sure once I have more experience here and USA references I will be able to find something better, in time it will get better, maybe we even move
