Yes, SMS number is same for Mumbai consulate. Once your husband is approved for visa you can send a SMS to 57333 & in the body of the text type "US (Passport Number). Once your passport is ready to be picked up you will get a notification on your cell phone. As far as your evidence is consider I think you pretty much covered everything but I would also take pictures of wedding ceremony, honeymoon pictures, after marriage pictures, and family pictures. Because more likely they will ask you for pictures at the end of the interview.

Thanks for your reply. She stayed and extended her visa this year(2011). She will return back home in Nov. She is trying to come back next year. My only concern is after going back in Nov this year, can she come back any given time in the year of 2012? or Would she have to wait another 6 months(from what I hear) after Nov 2011 before coming back in 2012 for eg. May 2012?

The only thing that is actually written down on this is that a foreigner who spends more than 180 calendar days in any given year in the U.S. is a resident for tax purposes. For that reason CBP will usually not admit somebody for a longer period than that in any year.

For example: person arrives on January 1, stays exactly 4 months, leaves the U.S. again. When the same person comes back to the U.S. the same year, no matter when that is, the most the I-94 will be valid for is likely 2 months 'til the end of that same year, only longer if the visit extends to the next calendar year.

Just trying to get this straight. I am also flying next week(to Guj) for my hubby's interview and spend some quality family time with my in laws, for evidences his agent in India said we need phone bills, pics, hotel receipts, travel receipts. I am trying to get copies of chats and there is so much to sort out on that part lol. Do we need anything else on the evidence part? Thanks for all the help.

NavyK I had suggested my husband to send SMS to 57333 after he was done with his interview so that way once the passport is transferred to VFS office he would know whether it's ready to be picked up or not. Since he didn't have access to the internet to check status on the website about his passport we went with the SMS options. SMS would be the better option.

In order to try, she basically needs to get her tickets first. She gets stamped her i94 card in her passport at the airport for 6 months. I want to know if its possible for her to actually come back to US in few months or wait 6 months before coming back? She is too old to face immigration issues at the airport. Thanks for your reply.

My grandmother would like to come back to U.S. next year on her 10 year entry B2 visa after going back to India this year. She extended her 6 months entry i-94 card this year(not exceeding 1 year), how long before she can come back to U.S.? Does she have to wait another 6 months before coming back or she can come back in few months after going back to India? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks all.

Ours is Nov. 10th... we just wanted to get the medical and passport clearance cert out of the way as she needs her passport to take a few exams so she can apply to graduate schools here. Only ID they allow for those exams is her passport.

Do you have an RFE from NVC that needs to completed and submitted during the interview? What does it say? I think you should be okay since I also got married in Feb and I submitted my pay checks from this year however NVC asked me to fill the I864 based on last years income and include last two years tax papers as well( I also have a co-sponsor). I hope my RFE regarding I864 goes smooth in the interview for my hubby. Good luck

Hi All,

I have a question on W-2 pay check. In my pay check, I am still filing my status as Single even though I am married back in February. The reason I did not change my filing status is my wife is yet to arrrive into united states. Also one of my friends told me that in order to file as married my spouse should be in united states. Is that correct? Currently she is going through CR1 process and will be ready for her interview next month. During NVC proces, I submitted pay checks for the last few months and I will be sending additional pay stub copies to my spouse prior to interview.

The question is if consular look at my pay checks during her interview and sees that filing status is single, is that a problem?

My wife is going to the same place for the medical and on the same day as well!

I suggested she take around 8000 to 9000 Rupees. I doubt it will be more than 5000-6000 depending on the amount of vaccinations the doctor suggests she get.

Does anybody know how much are the medical/physical exam fees at the Ahmedabad Apollo hospital? My hubby has his medical on the 9/16 and we were wondering how much cash to take, is there a max? Thanks guys. Also, do we need the original I864-financial evidence during the interview or copies are fine? We already submitted those to NVC beforehand.

I already got my interview letter(packet 4) in the email yesterday but since I read this, I tried logging in, it lets me log in the payment portal.

I just received an email this morning advising of the interview date. I was told by the rep last Thursday about the interview so it's taking a few days to actually receive the email.

Same here, but I just got an email with Packet 4/Appointment letter. So thankful! My best wishes are with all of you waiting for your interview dates and emails

Has anybody with interviews already scheduled(talked to NVC over the phone) actually got their appointment letters in the email? Just curious!

Thank you jaan for the excellent advice..actually, i was thinking about that initially when i read the e-mail, but now after re-assurance from DeC fellows and talking with operators i will hold on to the pcc and not going to send it.

yes, i have the same RFE before the case closed for PCC, but some intelligent operators and NVC knows its not an easy thing to get in India, specially AMD to get ur PCC, so they have given that option to all the applicants going thru BOM consulate, since it is an issue. DOnt worry about, jus take the original copies of ur PCC to VFS and Interview and it will all work out =) Since the case is completed at NVC, no point of submitting anything anymore, bcoz it might cause confusion and cause delay. Good luck to u and hope u get ur interview date soon.

haha my bad. Yeah, usually NVC works on scheduling the whole month, I would call twice a week lol to find out and today the lady told it was scheduled, so not like it was done today...they havn't notified me yet, neither i got an email or the AVS changed on the NVC dial. Oh well, my husband won;t believe me until he sees an interview letter. lol i hope you get yours soon as well, trust me, its coming =)

We have the same case complete date fenil and we are both going to Mumbai consulate. Please let me know if you have anything scheduled...I called about an hour ago and no date was given to me.

I called today, checked the status first, said case completed Aug 9th please wait 8 weeks blah blah...I felt hopeless, but then I called NVC again and dialed the operator, and OMGOSH, she told me our interview is scheduled for Oct 11th 2011 at BOMBAY consulate. They will email the interview letter within couple days. I was so relieved and thankful and excited.

My only concern now is they are asking for documents with my I864 and have him bring it to the interview. I hope that clears out and it will be a good day for us.

Good luck for your interview, but calling NVC over and over does not push your interview date ahead.....lol

Yours was already scheduled and you would had been notified about same, it just happened that you called and they had the date and they gave you date over the phone.

I didnt mention it pushes the interview date. Gosh, lol

What i meant to say is basically NVC says call 2nd week of Sept to find out OCt interview dates, which is not true cuz I have been notified by them that they schedule over a period of whole month, I am just saying call often to find if you are already scheduled, blah!

I saw on the immigration timeline reports, a few got their interviews for OCT 2011...how exciting!

It would be nice if this forum can used to post updates as couples get their interviews scheduled for OCT 2011(though it depends on the embassy). This can also show

how fast or slow NVC are scheduling and WHEN(what time of the month)? The

Under VJ, go to top menu and click on tab "Immigration Timelines" and then click on "IR1/CR1 Visa Timelines [Full]", which is under "Visa Timelines & Stats:". Then sort the report on column "Interview". You can use different sort criteria to get different reports and also use "Country" option to get reports pertaing to a particular country......

Good - I am more concerned about early October date - Wife was disappointed - asked her to go to her grandma's place instead of waiting in Hyd for medical. May be we should reconsider and wait for a week in Hyd.

Ran the report and saw 2 Nigerian and one Indonasian October Interview dates.
