I've already filed the form, and when I filled it out I selected that it was for a single trip, and not multiple. I didn't know how the form worked at the time, so I thought that's what I should do since I only knew of one specific trip we planned.
But now I'm concerned that down the line, if I want to leave again, I won't be able to because I chose the wrong box. My I-131 AP has not been processed yet - is there a way to change it? Would I have to pay the fee again?
Or, does it not actually make any practical difference at the border? From people's descriptions, it sounds like that's a possibility.

The question is in the description. When I print the AOS forms can they be double sided to save paper or will that violate the rules of the USCIS?
-
Ignore the second post. You do not need two G-325a(s) and you WILL be filling out an I-131.

There is no official time limit. You won't find this information anywhere. How long do you want to be gone? Who will be checking your mail in case of interview?
Oh good! That's a relief to know. I was only expecting to be gone 1-2 weeks. The trip would be in August so there is time to arrange for someone to help with mail.

I am filing for advance parole along with my adjustment of status. I think I heard that even with permission, you can only be gone a few days - and I'm not sure how many days it was.
I expect to only visit Canada once this summer before I receive my green card, so I would like to spend as much time visiting family as I am allowed to. But I can't find where it tells me how long I can be gone. "14 days" sounds familiar, but I don't know for sure - and of course it would be incredibly bad to overstay, as well.
Can someone direct me to this information?
-
Have you perhaps found the information for the other AOS - the Affidavit of Support? That is paid to NVC by those doing the spouse visa along with the IV fee.
You may be right. That is already behind me. Too many acronyms!

Topic says it all. We are filling out and gathering all the forms for the packet - including proof of joint residency. From my research it sounds like the fee will be $1070 (for the AOS form + EAD and AP) plus $88 x 2 for the Affidavits.
The step by step guide says to include a check in the packet... but I found this on the Travel.state.gov website
"General Fee Payment Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Can the AOS or IV Application Processing Fee be paid at the US Embassy/Consulate General instead of submitting fees to the NVC?
No, fees must be paid to the NVC using the online Immigrant Visa Invoice Payment Center. If you are unable to pay online, you must submit a cashier's check or money order to the NVC's St. Louis address.
Can fees be paid through a bank abroad?
No, all payments must be made in U.S. dollars drawn on a U.S. bank.
Can fees be paid over the phone?
No, the National Visa Center cannot accept fee payments over the phone.
Can fees be paid with personal check or credit card?
No, the National Visa Center cannot accept personal checks or credit card payments."
So now I am confused; no one keeps their websites properly updated. Should I put a cashier's check in the packet? Should I mail them separately to St Louis? Is there a place to file the fees online? Do I do that before or after I send the packet?

Hey.
So the "honeymoon" period is over and my wife and I are beginning to file for her AOS. She has been here for 30 days now and her SSN hasn't arrived.
I have a couple questions:
1. When does the SSN arrive and if it hasn't arrived by some fault how do we rectify this and get her name changed?
2. If we file the AOS and we don't hear from them for two months (worst case considering processing times) will my wife get kicked out since her K-1 Expires?
-
So my fiance's visa was approved and we were given a tracking number for the visa. It has been reported as "in-transit" for more than a week now and we wanted to call the depot where we pick it up to see if it has arrived. We live in Ottawa, but we are unsure what number to call. Can anyone help us out?

Bumping this post because I am really hoping for answers. Move is in 11 days.

My fiance is arriving in the states in 14 days. She plans to have most of her household goods shipped later via a freight company, but we don't have a lot of money so we wanted to know a few things.
1. Is it possible to do multiple duty-free shipments or must everything that will "come later" be on one Customs form (and one shipment) when my fiance crosses the border?
2. Do any of you have recommendations for small weight movers? We have far less than $2,000 worth of stuff and would rather go with a company that charges by the pound rather than having a base 2,000 starting rate.

The process guide says the forms will be sent to the Lockbox in Chicago, but I just moved to Washington state. If I have an interview will it be in Chicago or at the local USCIS office in Seattle?

Our interview is on Monday and I am having a bit of a freak out. We are putting together our packet for the interview and realized we selected the Ottawa Embassy on the DS-160 instead of Montreal. Is this going to keep us from being approved in our interview?

10 days until my fiance's interview and we were going over documents needed. I went back to check off Packet 3 and notice it listed the I-864 under the I-134. I just signed and fed-exed to her an original signed I-134 at considerable expense. Does this mean I need to send her the I-864 as well?
Anyone who has actually had an interview know if this is true or not?
-
and you’re going to Montreal? fill out I-864 for the sponsor and whatever co-sponsors you need to meet something like 125% over the poverty line for every person, depending on where you live it’s like 12,000 you can look it up online so the co sponser/s will have to make enough to cover you your spouse and them over the line. If you need help looking the poverty line let me know the state and ill have a look
I've been told everywhere to fill out the I-134. That the I-864 is for the AOS.
-
I don’t know what stage you are at, what are you filing for anyways? Im going to assume it’s a K1, and if it’s the 129 you are sending in we didn’t send support docs in, and from what I understand you still don’t need them at that stage when it came to Montreal and AOS we sent I-864 the new version and the first check box is if you are the sponsor or the cosponsor as long as it’s the same household anyone in that household can be a co-sponsor. If you give more info we can help you more!
We are at the interview stage of a K-1 visa.

So my fiance's interview is a few weeks away and I have had no luck in finding a steady job. I have freelance income, but I've only had it for a few months (no tax return from last year to prove it) and it is just enough to cover the bills so I have less than $1,000 in my bank account. My father is co-sponsor so we should be OK for passing the interview, but I am confused how to fill out my own I-134.
What do I put on it if I have no money?
It says I have to provide proof - how do I do that if I have no job or money?
There is no place on the I-134 I can see to indicate I am the petitioner and my father is the co sponsor. How do we indicate which form is which?

This is what I'm afraid of, the worst of both worlds. It makes me wonder if we should just cash them into a savings account and then just pay it back when we file.
Except they will charge you interest that far outstrips any interest you will get in a savings account.
-
I'd imagine it falls under "computers", to be honest.
It has a computer chip inside of it.

You pass the interview and wait for DHL to get the visa.
You get the visa and then go to america.
You get married then file AOS - see the AOS section and step by step guides.
You start saving for ROC - see the ROC section and step by step guide.
Do I have to announce the date of entry ahead of time or can we just cross the border whenever we want?
Will you provide a link to the ROC section?
-
So having just gotten my K-1 Interview what to do I do next? Is there anywhere that outlines the steps I need to go through to get my fiance to America? Our interview is November 22nd and we'd like to be together by Christmas if it is in our power to do so.

November 22nd at 8:30 here

Hikergirl, and I quote, said " But I do agree that some people have a little less decorum than they should being as this is not one of THOSE forums."
That implies that people who post that stuff up are automatically associating themselves with something they should be ashamed of.
Everyone here has a right to be uncomfortable but no one here has a right to say what ought and ought not be done. You can say 'I felt uncomfortable' or 'I wouldn't do that' but making any sort of definitive statement is the height of arrogance.
-
What does those forums mean? Are you insulting people who don't agree with you by associating their choice of images with something disreputable?
I-131 AP: I checked single, will that screw me over?

Thanks, that's good to know, I hadn't heard that it could be issued as a combined card. I did file them both together, so I'll take a look when I get the card.
