  1. I've seen that documentary. While I think most of the women involved in the documentary are fine mothers, I think it's irresponsible to have a child being that old. So potentially dangerous to both the child and mother. I don't have an exact age in mind that I believe is best for motherhood but for me, I don't think I would have a child past about 42 yrs of age. I don't think I could handle taking care of a newborn past that age, personally. Not that I think 42 is old or anything. I just think of the risks involved and I think about how old I would be when the child is say 10 or 15 and how I would handle raising said child.

  2. Hello everyone i'm a bit stomp on question 7 "i derive an annual income of". Do i give an estimate on how much i will make annually? I started my work February and i cant provide a income tax return because i was in the philippines until 2010 going to school.

You want to make a close estimate what your income is going to be this year based on your paychecks so far. Also, make sure that total matches the amount your employer put on your letter of employment.

Make sure you meet the 125% poverty guidelines for you and your fiance, and any other dependants involved. You may have a problem if you didn’t file taxes last year and meet the 125%. Even though it is not “required” I’ve seen people need to get a co-sponsor because they didn’t meet the 125% last year. Otherwise get a co-sponsor. The minimum evidence on the I-134 is sometimes not enough, and more information could be asked for. Make sure you include:

    Bank letter and bank statements

    Employment letter

At least 2-3 months of pay check stubs

Copy of income taxes with W-2

    Any investment account statements

The CO’s are looking for consistent income and employment history. If you don’t have this, get a co-sponsor.

    Hope I could help!

  3. I am sorry to hear what happened to you! I hope you resolve the situation soon. Now, to people that are bashing US embassy workers: please, stop! We do not know all the details and we know only one side of the story. While I am sympathetic with OP I do believe that we heard only one part of the story and we cannot jump to conclusions until we know entire story. I can tell you that from my experience with the consular workers in US consulates and embassies: they are always very nice, very diplomatic, VERY GOOD psychologists. They are NOT stupid and NOT careless. You cannot compare them with DMV or Social Security workers. This is a different breed of people. In order to become consular worker you have to pass almost impossible to pass exam and be well trained. There must be something that we do not know. I wish OP the best of luck but in a lot of cases at first it seems that this is consular officer fault but with time it turns out that either consular worker is right OR there is some mistake on the part of the applicant...

  4. Guys, no offence but I think we need to stop being judgmental for a second. The embassy employees are in the first place diplomatic people, and they are reflecting their countries image. I believe it is all a matter of unintentional human mistake, not the embassy’s attitude, because if that is true, the embassy is simply telling the world that they are just a bunch of uncaring stupid people who don't give a s*** about who you are or what you are going through which i believe is not true. Why don't we stop for a sec and see this whole thing about COs and visa apps from another perspective? Why can't we just see them as really trying to look for a reason to approve us? And that they are not “out to get us” and trying to find reasons for denial. I mean, how would it hurt them approving people who really have true relationship!?

I really think it’s just a mistake that they wanted you to fly over in a day. I hope contacting the senator’s office is of help, and we wish you the best of luck on your journey.

  5. Hi! The total cost for a K1 visa is about $1805 or more see this link: http://www.visajourney.com/content/compare

There is a $340 filing fee for the I-129F petition

Another $350 for the visa paid to the US embassy

Also it is almost $1100 to Adjust status after you get married within the 90 days. This must be done.

There is also all the medical fees, translations, photographs taken, police certificates aquired, shipping of documents back and forth, etc...

Good luck! It costs a LOT of money to bring a fiance over, but they are worth it!

    :)

  6. Hi,

we received our NOA2 last week monday. YAY! My question is: How will we be informed, that the nvc received the petition and which case number we have?

    Thanks for your help!

I received a letter from the NVC stating they recieved our case, and that it will be forwarded on to the consulate within a week. It also had my case number on it, and it stated that my fiance will be receiving instructions soon from the Embassy.

    Good Luck!

    :)

  7. Me and my fiancé haven't seen each other in almost 2 years, it will be exactly 2 years Dec 13, 2011. My question is this I am unsure what to do the reason it has taken us so long in between seeing one another is because of financial situations I was in college and not yet working, but things are stable now and we want to get married. Our original plan doesn’t seem like it is going to pan out so now we are looking at the K-1 visa but we have limited time there to. With it being just 3 or so months left before the 2 years are up, what should we do? Would a K-3 be a better choice, I know that it means I would have to go to Antigua and we would have to marry before we file or do we have enough time for the K-1? One more question I have heard stories that people have had this process expedited by getting medical professionals to state that the undo stress or trauma of this process is causing great mental stress, is it true that this can speed along things just curious.

I would get married and apply for a CR1. Perhaps your petition would make it through the USCIS, but COs (consular officers) seem as though they look for reasons to deny. If they see its been more than 2 years, I think your chances would be small. Dont waste 6+ months, finally get to the interview, and then be denied. Get married and go from there. Good luck!

  8. I am worried about the divorce decree mostly as I only have a copy. I have IR/CR visa and it is about to be the phase where I have to send the documents to the NVC. I am going to be filing an I 260

You will need a CERTIFIED copy of your divorce decree for the interview stage at the embassy anyway. You may as well go to the courthouse and get a couple. You should only have to pay a small fee for them. I was under the impression that all documents sumbitted could be copies. In the I-130 it states "If either you or your spouse were previously married, submit copies of documents showing that all prior marriages were legally terminated". The instructions also state "If these instructions state that a copy of a document may be filed with this petition, send a copy. If you choose to send the original, USCIS may keep that original for our records. If the USCIC requires the original, it will be requested". Unless specifically asked for, send a copy. BUT if you want to be on the safe side, get 2 CERTIFIED copies, send one in, and bring the other to the embassy interview.

    Good luck!

  9. How serious is NVC about original documents or certified copies. What do they mean by certified copies. I have nearly everything original except a few things. Do you think this will cause my case to be delayed. Anyone have any feedback on this????

Hi! It really depends on what documents they need. What are you specifically concerned about? Are you still in the petitioning stage? What form did you file?

  10.   I lol'ed at this thread! I don't think many Russians give each other wedgies, and if they do they don't have a special word for it. :P I remember some time ago explaining to Victor what a wedgie is and he thought it was hilarious! He also laughed at the similarity between the word veggies and wedgies, because I explained wedgies to him before I used the word "veggie."

    This is funny!

  11. Hey all, once again i have another question for you guys. As our interview date is SLOWLY approaching, (1 month and 29 days away now yaaay!) and we'r trying to gather up all the required forms and go over everything to be sure we'r not missing anything, we've gotten a little confused over something. i just wanted to clarify and make sure we've got this right so if anyone can give me an input of this, it would be greatly appreciated. It is from my understanding that we only to fill out the I-134 affidavit of support for the interview, and we fill out the I-864 AFTER i'v arrived in the U.S. and are doing the AOS. Is this correct? or do we need to fill out both the I-134 and the I-864 for the interview? If anyone can help us figure this out and calm my brain it would be awesome!! thanks to all of you for all your support along this road, we couldn't have made it here without all of you. finally we'r soooo close!! Thanks!

 You are correct! I-134 for the interview I-864 for the AOS :)

  12. Hello everyone

I have a question on the DS3032 i was doing some reading in the other forum and just wanted to make sure with you guys. Is it ok for my wife to sign the form and email it to me and i send in the copy of the emailed form? Or do i need the original she signed? Also i cant rembember what i was looking at it said to place the bar code sticker on? but nvc only sends emails right? so where do i get sticker? thanks for all your help

You really should send in an original signature if you’re going to mail it. Before my response I did a little research in the forums. It seems there is mixed responces whether or not a real signature is needed. But, I did find people that were successful in emailing the NVC the DS3032. So may I suggest emailing them 1st, and in the mean time getting original from your wife? Then send it in once you recieve it from her. Check this link for the Email DS-3032: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Email_DS-3032_form

    Good luck!

    :)
