  1. Yay!!! I am so glad!!! Muchas felicidades!!

  2. You must be so happy that POE is just 5 days away! Just to let you know, my fiance's flight arrived JFK at 12:30 PM, but he didn't get out of immigrations until around 4:00 PM. There weren't any problems, just a long wait. It might not be that long for you, but I just wanted to warn you so that you don't worry. Yay! So happy for you!

  3. Hi-

The carta blanca process took us just under 1 month- and that includes an extra few days for processing because his father is a military person. We did salida definitiva- if you do indefinitiva it will take a month more.

  4. Hi- they initially told him that the visa would be ready in a week (after the interview). When he went to pick it up, he was told specifically that are case was in AP. My fiance has since gotten his visa and he did tell me that there are MAJOR delays at SINA in terms of processing the visas. It seems like they are really backed up and understaffed at the moment. Good luck! I hope it com...

  5. Thanks! He was going to ask for the baja in June but once we were put in AP, we decided he should stay at his job since we didn't know how long the AP would last and at work he has access to email, internet etc. It only got complicated now because his jefa was going on vacation this month, etc. but it all worked out in the end and he started the carta blanca process today!

  6. i know! unfortunately, he still hasn't been able to apply for the carta blanca because he is still waiting for his liberacion from his job. ughhhhh!!

  7. Yes! I am so relieved!

  8. There's nothing I can do. I can't "pay" anyone to expedite the review. The case has gone to the State Department and/or Homeland Security for clearance. I can't even call the State Dept until two months have passed to ask for a case update. I have called upon my congressman and senator for help but they all get the same answer- the case is still under review.

  9. Once he has the visa in hand, he will need to apply for the permiso de salida. It seems that people who leave on the fiance visa have the option to leave either indefinida or definida. If he leave indefinida, he will be able to retain his rights in Cuba but the process will take longer and you will need to send a letter of invitation to SICUW in DC.

  10. If the interview date is past the date of the I-797, you should contact the US Interests Section (send them an email by using the link on their website) to ask them to revalidate the petition. Give them the case number and the interview date. It shouldn't be a problem.

  11. As far as I know, the case is still under administrative processing. He is going to go back on Thursday to inquire about the status. I hope it doesn't take too long. :(

  12. You have to make an appointment to pick up the materials. I know the line is always busy. Best to call really early in the morning.
