  1. Hi! Hope everybody is doing well with their respective journey.

We filed our K1 case to US Embassy Abu Dhabi but we requested them to transfer to US Embassy Manila since we have given a long waiting time for our interview date. According to them, they transferred the file to US Embassy Manila last Oct 6 but as per US Embassy Manila, they have not received it yet.

We want to know if we can start the process, like paying the visa fee to BPI and do medical while waiting for the file to arrived in US Embassy Manila.

Note: Our case number is still not updated. We still have our ABD Case number.

Your answers are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  2. K-1ers don't need a Legal Capacity to Marry.

Also, there seems to be no need to wait for the NSO. According to the VJ Guides, the petitioner should send the beneficiary a copy of the I-129F packet. Included in that packet will be the following:

Copy of the Birth certificate (front and back) for the US Citizen or a copy of ALL pages of the US Citizen's passport issued with a validity of at least 5 years or a copy of the US Citizen's naturalization certificate (front and back). This is used to establish citizenship.

    VJ Guides.

So glad, no need for all of that ;-)

As I can remember, my fiance submitted I-129F file along with the Naturalization Certificate.

    Thanks for all your reply.

  3. Hi VJ'ers,

We are just wondering if Birth Certificate and Legal Capacity to Marry are required for interview for K1 Visa.

Because we are reading some post that includes both. My fiance was born in Philippines and became naturalized US citizen. He can request for birth certificate to NSO but it will take 2 months for them to deliver.

We would really appreciate your advice. Thanks in advance.

  4. yes your mother can pay your visa on BPI... just give authorization to make sure.. and bring your passport.. original and xerox they need... and your mother make sure have valid id too.. just tell to them K1 visa.. good luck

thanks for the info, ill take note about the authorization letter. Actually, I am not in the country right now and my original passport is with me, I just want to pay the fee right away so that I can schedule my interview online. Are you sure that original passport will be needed? because if that's the case, I myself can do the payment when I get back.

  5. jhun&jeng--The quote/info which follows can be found on the following webpage: http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph/ph-niv-paymentinfo.asp

"If you have an account with either Bank of Philippine Islands or BancNet you may choose to pay your visa application fee online using their online bill pay services. You will be required to enter your UID reference number. The UID number is generated when a profile is created. You may call 02-9825555 to get your UID number before completing your payment online."

The link given above discusses more detail about bank and payment options as well as scheduling information. Hope the information will be of use to you.

    Thanks for the reply.

I also read about that. I have Bancnet account and I don’t know how to start with my payment. When I go to Bancnet website and click my designated Bank, it goes to my bank online banking. So I tried to log in to my online account but I don’t know to whom I will pay in the Bill Pay Service. And where would I input the IUD reference number?

Did you try to do the same? Thanks again.

  6. It depends on the type of household- household in the case of the Affidavit of Support is not based on where people live so much as who they are responsible for- ie who are these four people? If he just lives with two roommates they do not count. But if he previously sponsored two people, even if they do not live with him and make good money, they do count. If there is a household of four (you, him, and two others), the minimum is $28'000.

This is for Affidavit of Support for K1 Visa. My fiance lives with his 2 brothers and 1 sister in law. Would that include to the household even they are not dependent to him? He lives in Hawaii so the minimum is much higher.

  7. 1, Depends on how many there are in his household. For example if it's just you and him, no kids or other dependants, it;'s just under $19'000. Check here: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-864p.pdf

2, If his salary is comfortably over, no need to even mention assets.

    3. Always better safe than sorry! Some consulates do not accept co-sponsors though.

    4. Copies are fine- most people file electronically and have no originals anyway.

    hi there.

what if they are 4 of them in the household but he doesn't have any dependent, would that be counted? Would the additional salary requirement apply?

    Thanks

  8. Good day everyone..

We just received email from Embassy for our interview appointment. However, to our suprise, our interview for K1 Visa was scheduled 5 months away from now (Feb 2012) which we found too long to wait.

We want to know if there's any way that we can get an earlier interview eventhough Embassy were saying that earlier slots were not available. Besides our NOA2 will expire on December 2011 which will be lapsed by the time of the interview.

We would appreciate your input into this matter. Thanks in advance.

  9. Hello :) , The NVC have just provided the case number thru email, there was no official mail yet. So I am not sure whether to contact the Consulate or to wait the official mail or some kind of email saying that [NVC] forwarded the documents to the US Emb/Gen Consulate. I am not even sure how many days/weeks/month for them to book the interview appointment. Have you call the US Embassy-UAE to get this information?

I think US Emb-Phils is quite faster than in here! Let me know what could be the result of yours B-) ... You have a nice day!

Im not sure with the procedure about in Kuwait, depending from country to country. but here, the Embassy will be sending instructions and appointment interview and in the Philippines, once you receive your case number you're good to go to make an appointment for interview either online or by phone.

Based on my readings, its easy to get an appointment in the Philippines. Sure will, let you know. You have a nice day too.

  10. Hello ... We are on the same situation. I am Filipina & currently working in Kuwait and got my case number already thru email last 10th August. I was just wondering how you got the information that it will take months to have your appointment interview at the US Emb - UAE? Did you call or email them? And have your fiance receives the case number by mail or email?

Hi there! based on the US Embassy in Abu Dhabi Information it takes approximately 3 months waiting Time for interview date from when the Consulate receives the package from the NVC. Im just taking a look for another option.

Have you received your packet 3 and 4? From there you can get your interview date.

  11. I don't know about procedure in US Embassy there. But here in Philippines...you don't have to wait for your packet 3 and 4. Once you have the case number, you can schedule interview either online or by calling. You can even choose the date of your interview if you schedule appointment online as long as there are slots.

Have you tried to schedule your interview appointment? When is the nearest date you got?

  12. Hi everyone!

I am Filipino and currently working here in United Arab Emirates. We have an approved K-1 visa petition which is now filed in US Embassy in Abu Dhabi UAE. Using this portal, we found out that it will take approximately 3 months for the US Embassy here to schedule me for the interview compare to the US Embassy in Manila which will take only 25 days.

Our question is, if in case we decided to transfer our file to US Embassy Manila, is it still possible? Even if our file is now in the US Embassy Abu Dhabi yet we haven’t received the Packet 3 and 4? If so, what would be the procedure? Who are we going to contact? How long it will take for that procedure to be done and have the early interview appointment as possible because we want to spend Christmas together.

  13. Hi Vjers!

We are now on the process of gathering papers for the interview and as a requirement, we need to provide I-134 Affidavit of Support and its supporting documents.

What is the exact amount of 125% above poverty line or how much should be the minimum salary of my fiancé?

Does the CO is particular on the salary only? what if he don't have that much personal or real estate property?

Is it ok to get a co-sponsor even if my fiancé’s salary is more than the required salary, just to make sure that we will get approve? Does the CO

Original Income Tax Return is needed or a copy is fine?

    Thanks in advance.

  14. Hi everyone!

Just a newbie here in Visa Journey. Find it interesting coz I can access information we needed with our K1 Visa application.

My fiancé filed a K1 petition and I am currently residing in United Arab Emirates . It has been recently approved last August 4.

Though, we know the next step by step process but still not enough to answers all our questions. Basically, the process differs from one way to another.

    1) When would be the right time to follow up NVC/Department of State about the status of our case?

    2) Now, we are waiting for the packet 3 and 4. We are confuse as to how they will send it to us. Some says through email, mailed to the petitioner or to the beneficiary. How long it will take for us to receive it? When it will come from, is it from NVC/Department of State or from US Embassy here in UAE?

    3) What is inside the Packet 3 and 4? Is there any documents/forms needed to be sent back to them before the interview aside from the documents I need to bring for the interview?

    4) Is it already the right time that my fiancé gather other documents such as affidavit of support and its supporting papers, I-129F File (copy), etc. to be send to me even we didn’t received further instruction from Packet 3 and 4 yet?

    5) As to the medical examination, what would be the test to be done (x-ray, blood test, etc.?).

    6) What are the vaccination required since I don’t have my vaccination record? Any suggested vaccination required? Can I get a shot before I do the medical examination or I need to wait for the medical examination as to what the doctor say?

There’s still lot more questions but this are all for now.

Thanks in advance. Have a nice day!
