  1. I have an interview on Monday in at the Manila US Embassy for my Filipina wife ( CR1). My father is the joint sponsor and makes 80k+ annually. We have all the documentation and data required for his support. My wife passed her medical exam and we have proof of relationship and all of that.

My one question is regarding the following:

I have not filed tax returns for 2009 and 2010 because I made NO money for those 2 years. Also in 2010 I moved to the Philippines to live with my wife. In 2011 I got an overseas job that pays very little. I have not filed taxes for 2011 because it's not the April 15th deadline yet (and I may extend). I included a letter explaining all of these circumstances along with my I-864.

I printed out my PayPal stubs showing I received payment for my employer. And my bank statements showing I received the PayPal money.

Will this suffice? Since my Dad's joint sponsorship of my wife is fully documented and covers ALL requirements?

  2. I am nearing my wife's interview date and a little nervous. Here is my situation:

Long story short, in 2010 I sold my car plus a few possessions and moved to the Philippines.

My wife's joint sponsor is my Father. He is well above the financial level needed for sponsorship. I've already received the I-864 he filled out and sent over. Plus received all required criteria from him and then some. This includes a cover letter addressed to the Embassy about joint sponsorship. Also there is a signed letter by both my parents regarding domicile stating that their home will be our home when we arrive until we find a place.

I learned from reading today that I also need to fill out a I-864 form even though I'm way below the poverty line.

I only made money for 3 months in 2011 and 3 in 2012 and before that I lived off of what I had when I arrived.

I made money through an American employer for about 6 months now. During this time I received Filipino wages, making less than $500.00 USD a month (40 hour a week job). I was paid via Paypal and have no other evidence than that. My company will provide me a letter if needed (It will just be a scanned and color printed copy though)

I have not filed any tax returns in several years.

So I will fill out an I-864.

But should I also print out my Paypal forms and have my company create me a letter stating I worked there? There were no W-2s involved and I have not submitted a 1099 for 2011 so I don't want to do anything wrong here.

Does anyone reading this think I'm in the clear or if not what?

    Advice appreciated.

To the mods, this is a double post. I have the same under 'proof of domicle' thread. It was an accident, meant to create a new topic, sorry.

  4. I checked inside my Packet 3 which came last Saturday and there is a I-864EZ form included. I already have a sponsor for my wife (my Father) whom is well above the financial level needed for sponsorship. I've already received the I-864 he filled out and sent over. Plus received all required criteria from him and then some. Do I need also the I-864EZ or will his sponsorship suffice?

  5. I visited the website for Korean Air and I tried to purchase one way tickets to from Manila to Seattle and I got this disclaimer.

"According to Philippine law, tickets for flights departing from the Philippines cannot be purchased from any region other than the Philippines. In accordance with the law, such flight tickets are not available in Korean Air's homepage.....etc."

    Any suggestions guys?

  6. What if a couple gets stuck in Japan over night because of a flight delay and/or no room on a stand by ticket(s)?

I'm speaking in terms of my wife who is a Filipina and myself an American who will be traveling with an approved CR-1 Visa en route to Seattle if the Good Lord allows us approval. Any thoughts?

Will leaving the airport to stay in a hotel be a problem?

  7. Hmmm...joint sponsor is an immediate relative with a well-qualified income...demonstated history of financial support by joint sponsor...wife would be employable as an RN in the U.S. if she passed the NLE and the NCLEX-RN...still no domicile in the U.S....still no tax return...no qualifying assets.

    100:1 odds. ;)

:secret: (Stranger things have happened at the U.S. Embassy Manila.)

Wife can start working right away as a home care provider

  8. I don't own in the states since I rented most of my adult life. I have no job because I moved to the Philippines with no plan to return home anytime soon. It wasn't till about October that I got an outsourced job for which I have only Paypal transactions and salary email stubs to show for. And that is also PH wage based. I don't have a car because I sold it before I came here.

  9. Hi Everyone,

I am really nervous about the financial part of the upcoming interview and I want to share with all of you my situation.

I have lived in the Philippines for almost 2 years and haven't had a job on record for 3 years or so. I lived at home with my parents before I came to PH and have their address listed as my own on the I-130 and my G325A. I was doing some off the record Filipino wage based IT consultations remotely while in PH for part of the time. My mother was sending me money through Xoom (I have all M. Lhuillier remittance receipts to show at the interview). I also had money on my US bank account when I arrived here (about $3500USD), plus my mother deposited cash to my account though out my living here. (I have all my bank's original monthly statements to show at the interview, I withdrew this money at ATM's here) My case is a IR-1/CR-1 Visa for my wife and we are using my father as a co-sponsor whom makes 75k a year. I have never been to college but my wife graduated and as a registered nurse here in the Philippines. What are the odds guys? Thank you all in advanced.

  10. Hello Everybody,

My question is simple, here in the Philippines my wife cannot have her passport amended to add my last name until she attends CFO.

If she has her current passport which only has her maiden name stamped with the CFO thing, then won't her new passport not have the CFO thing on it?

Has anyone experienced this? How does this work, is there a stamp they put on the passports or is it just paperwork? I'm confused, any suggestions or advice is more than appreciated. TIA

  11. Thank you very much for the information soinlove20. We filed on Dec 27th and will follow up this week or next.

DanzKat, I think that is the same woman that works at window 25 on the second floor where we filed our i-130. We were also told 3-6 months. So it's necessary to follow up with phone calls and emails like soninlove20 did. This way as the process takes place and any data is missing we can find out on our own then act quickly rather than waiting for Immigration to notify us which can take longer.

Bron Chase, I think I will get the other 2 previous years as well! Never hurts to be prepared.
