  1. Hi everyone,

I'm a September filer too and hoping to hear some more news soon. USCIS received my application on Sept. 26 and on Sept. 29 the case showed up online as under "initial review." My biometrics was scheduled on Oct. 21 but did a successful walk-in on Oct. 7. Since then, no news. I hope to have news on the EAD, AP or an interview appt. letter this coming week! I'm wondering if calling USCIS would give me a more detailed, updated status. Has anyone tried calling them to inquire on their status?

Yea me, I even got transferred to another lady that had more information and had access to more....but my case is still sitting at the NBC

  2. Okay I was just mentioning abOut the names on the mailbox just to be sure. It's better to be prepared than to be sorry. The lady told me if I didn't have my name on my mailbox I RAN THE RISK of not getting my social security card. She also stated that USCIS doesn't care about your name being on the mailbox but the social security administration does. I know nOthing about rules of the mail men but all I know is if she told me that... A lady who's been working for ssa for probably years.. Then I'm going to do what she advices me to do :) I hope everyone had a nIce Thanksgiving by the way!!!

  3. You know, i think id probably be that person Very picky...making comments in my face saying omg i can't eat this. But! .... these VJrs are right. I would've known that moving to a completely different place would mean changing eating habits. I honestly didn't have that much problems. We were able to find stores that sold peruvian foods and stuff. And we can even find recipes online! Be patient and don't freak out. Once he starts getting hungry he will try it just make sure its not McDonalds...haha. But not, don't worry about it. Everyone needs time to adjust. In the mean time, let him know. I can imagine you probably feel hurt with all the faces he makes. Tell him to please be a little considerate of the hard work you're putting for him to enjoy time with you. Someone already suggested and trust me it will probably be a good idea....look for places where you can find moroccan foods..spices...etc...do research online.. Teach yourself! And as for your daughter you can do this

You can tell her he's going to try something if she tries something too. Sorr if the idea is lame...but that what Id do. Trying new things...especiall in a different culture could be pretty interesting. Might not like it, but at least you can say you tried!!! I remember I always said no to sushi i never even ate it. My friend took me to eat it, and i put a big chunk of a california roll in my mouth...and ended up not liking it. Instead of making faces in front of the chef looking at me and my friend laughing at me....I swallowed it and said......ok I tried it....didnt like it. LOL but now I know!!!

  4. OH! and I forgo to mention something the lady who did mine yesterday told me. She said that USPS won't deliver the social security cards most of the time if the mailboxes don't have the name of the person. I live in an apartment complex and the mailboxes don't have that slot o put names on so i wrote both my sisters and my name on a piece of paper and taped it. lol. I just wanted to share that with all of you since I have read a lot of peoples bad experiences with them not getting their cards in the mail

  5. So this is whats going on.

1.My sister and I go to the SS office today and everything is fine. They call her first and then they call me we went to separate windows. I got mine done and was told that in about 2 weeks I should receive mine and my sister came out empty handed. They told her it was "too soon" (I got it my work permit friday and she got hers on saturday) and that the system wasn't reading it. Im like I just went and got mine. So i tried talking to the lady that did mine and she left so I asked the guy on the window net to hers. The guys which by the way had a face like he was annoyed that we were asking him questions said tat either way, two family members cannot come in the same day because it was against the rules to issue ss cards for security measures and because of the risk of having consecutive numbers. She's going to go again tomorrow. :( Has this happened to anyone? My dad got mad because both him and my mom went the same day and they had the same last name. He used to work at the office in Baltimore and was like that doesn't make sense. But my sister didn't want any conflict with anyone so se decided to come back tomorrow.

    2. When I got my receipt for i 485 I was filed under daughter of us resident, i am daughter of US citizen. I immediately called to have a service request as well for my sisters, and the lady I spoke to told me she was going to put both of us under the same service request. Almost a month later they email me and me only saying they couldn't update my case because my case was ready for interview scheduling. They said nothing about my sisters so i called. They told me that they are not allowed to put two people under one service request I'm like...what! omg, so I told my sister to open one herself so that it would stay in their system. On friday she gets an email saying her case was updated. Now tell me this. How is it possible for her service request to go through when she did it after 1 month than i did mine and hers got approved and mine didn't. I called just now, I got transferred to a customer rep specialist after the first one didn't know what to do. The lady ends up telling me that theres not way of knowing why, that the service center knows what its doing that maybe it is because my file IS ready and my sisters isn't. Okay great, that would make sense....only if my case was transferred somewhere. I got my work permit and my case still hasn't been put anywhere. The lady was nice enough to tell me if my case had been transferred to my local office or if it was still sitting at MSC and she said it was. It is still sitting there. Im annoyed. So all I can do now is sit and wait for some type of response. And hope that my interview will come soon. :(

    :crying:

  6. Im really happy for those who's getting some good news. But i cant stay quiet and not tell how mad i am with the uscis. Mennn, they should treat everybody the same. I had FP oct 13 and nothing yet. I also see others that had FP earlier then me and also havent heard anything. And then we see this frienda getting ead 15-20 days after fp? Owww thats not fair ;((

Even though I got my EAD yesterday, I feel the same way. To me, the goal is the interview. My case hasn't even been transferred anywhere after the NBC
