  1. Agreed. If the interview goes late, she will be worrying about getting to the airport on time. Just stay the night in Rio and fly back in the morning. Good luck!

Thanks Menina and Ryan H. I will advice her to think about spending the night in Rio. It is just that she will be missing three days of work (she is arriving in Rio a day before the interview).

Does anyone knows if the interview runs into the mid to late afternoon?

  2. Hello,

I've got a question about the size of the photo that we sent with the form G-325A. I have already sent my photos to my fiancee

And the size of my photos are 5x7 (I am the beneficiary)

This is the size of pictures that we (beneficiaries) must send along with Form G-325A, right?

How should the size of the photo of the petitioner?

How should the size of photos for the petitioner submit with the form G-325A? The same size? 5x5 or 5x7?

I'm having doubts about this information...

    Thanks!

Based on information contained on the US Consulate in Rio de Janeiro website (http://brazil.usembassy.gov/interview/forms-for-fiancee-visas/order-of-documents-for-the-interview---fiancee.html) 5 x 7 cm passport photographs are acceptable. Please make sure the photographs are frontal photographs showing both ears and no earrings.

To confirm if the info on the website is current, you can always send an email to the consulate at immigrationrio@state.gov. They appear very responsive to emails (I received replies to 3 emails I sent during the week of Aug 8 within 2 hours).

    Best of luck.

  3. After waiting for 21 days, NVC finally informed me that my case has been sent the US consulate in Rio de Janeiro. The problem is that my fiancee lives in Sao Paulo and I request in the I-129 form that we want to process the visa in Sao Paulo. Thus, I am stating that the case is being sent to the wrong consulate.

Will the US consulate in Rio send my case to Sao Paulo automatically (because we requested Sao Paulo)? Or do we have to request a change in consulate? Can someone who lives in Sao Paulo be interviewed in Rio since there is a consulate in Sao Paulo?

I will appreciate any advice or suggestion. Thanks.

Side bar - Why are there very few brazilian VJ members processing their K-1 visa through the Sao Paulo consulate?

  4. congratulations to both of you:-) we received ours on july 26 from Vermont Service Center as well.

However, ours read this" "the above petition has been approved.and forwarded to the listed consulate. HUH?

There was NO listed consulate! When i finally reached a Human being at the Vermont Center, she said that the K 1's

do not need to go the the National Visa Center and that they go directly to the Conulate? I posted about it here and was told NO, all petitions go to the NVC.

So, where is my petition? At the NVC or on its way To China, GUZ? I would feel so much better if they actually had listed a Consulate, like the document stated.

I am a nurse and if I would run my unit the way they run this process, I would have lost my licencse years ago!"=_

True, at least the ball is rolling now. I would appreciate any further advice:-) thanks so much.....todd

I am in the same boat as Oceanshark. I hope LookyWhatIFound is right. The uncertainty is killing me. My NOA2 was approved two weeks ago today.

To everyone on this site, thanks. Reading comments from others has been very calming.
