  1. Hello all! Thanks to all of your help, we are finally together and married! Now it's time to submit our AOS package and we have a few questions that we can't easily find the answers to in the walk through. Your help would be appreciated once again!

    Form I-131

    - Part 1, Question 3 Class of Admission. Is K-1 the appropriate response?

    - Part 2 - Is "D" Applying for AP document correct?

    - Part 7 - Is there any advantage / disadvantage to selecting "one trip" vs "more than one trip" (we have no plans to leave the country, just filing this in case of emergency)

    Form I-485

    - Part 1 - What do I put for Current USCIS status? K-1?

    Form G-325A

    - Near the bottom of the first page which box do I select for the question: This form is submitted in connection with an application for: (Naturalization, Status as Permanent Resident, Other)

    Form I-765

    - Question 16. Just double checking myself... is ©(9) the correct category?

    Thanks for your help!!!

  2. Congrats!!

We were kicking back after breakfast when 2GO called to tell Amy that they would be delivering her visa... so today was a very good day.

Nice!!! We wont be expecting ours to come this week because of the Holiday! :-) We will probably pick it up at 2GO Mall of Asia together when he arrives! :-)

  3. As we are remembering the Passion of Christ and as Maundy thursday , Good Friday, Black Saturday and Easter/resurrection Sunday are fast approaching I would want to steal a quick moment of everyone to share this great news - Our Visa got approved just yesterday! :-DDD What a week to remember the events of the last week of Jesus' life, to remember family and the faithful who have died as we await the resurrection, or to honor the martyrs who have given their lives for the cause of Christ in the world. And the final day we call it Easter, as we celebrate a new day, new beginnings. New life indeed. :-D Have a meaningful Lenten season everyone :-D Life is great when we have faith. Thank you everyone for being such a great help to us... :-D

  4. Question for you VJers who might have been through this before!

Quick background - I'm planning on spending a few months with my fiance in the Philippines (learning tagalog and getting to know all of her friends and family better!) after she's approved for her k1 visa before we fly back to the US to start our life here.

I know there is a 59 day tourist visa which I can get before hand and extend while there. Can I enter on a 1 way ticket or do I need a return ticket? My current plan is to enter on a 1 way ticket and after 4-5 months (in phil's and traveling around asia) we'll fly back together on 1 way tickets. Is this possible? If not, our anticipated flights to the US will be well after 59 days, so would return tickets even help?

Thanks for your help... just trying to get my arms around this so I dont run into any issues! Oh and I've called the Philippines consulate here in NYC to ask these questions.. left a few messages and haven't heard back.

  5. I'd call your congressman. It's a fairly quick call and they typically have someone who knows the deal with this stuff. They'll ask for a letter or e-mail giving them authorization to reach out on your behalf and then they will do it. Can't hurt and really doesn’t take much time/effort to do. We were approved shortly after my congressman sent a letter to USCIS. Probably just coincidence, but I'll take it!

  6. Hey VJers!

Getting ready to send a FedEx with everything I think we need so that my fiance is prepared for her interview! Really excited to be at this point and want to make sure I'm not missing anything that's required or helpful! Let me know if you see any gaps in what I'm sending over to her. Thanks!

  7. Hello everyone! :-D Me and my fiance just received the MNL case number but it has not been sent to Manila Embassy yet. I don't have the email or the letter that I'm supposed to receive from the usem. Question : Is it fine if I pay the visa fee at BPI since I already got the MNL case number and schedule the interview online/phone? Visa fee cost 15,400 php and for the medical is it 9,030 php?

There's just a lot of details for this process and we don't wanna mess this one up. Figures we could ask some help from you! Big thanks in advance! :-))))
