Thanks for the useful information. Its much appreciated.
Bring your copies of the application and appointment letter
Bring tax information and recent paystubs
Bring as much proof of joint relationship, mail, bank statements, lease agreements, car loan docs, medical cards and statements
Financial docs were very hard for my wife and I as we had not purchased anything on credit together yet.
Photos
Just be truthful
They will review your statements on your application....drug seller, criminal, etc
Our interview almost seamed more like the K-1 interview
If English is not your first language you might bring a translator. Our interviwer spoke some spanish and let my daughter translate.
Good Luck

got an email this morning, they mailed us today a letter with our interview date ! it will be on the 11 october.
Good luck!!
I had biometrics on aug 30 and now waiting for the next move from USCIS. Still unable to locate the case status online. Called USCIS to check and was told that it takes more than 30 days for things to show up online.
-
I have been unable to track my case status on the USCIS website. I received my NOAs couple of weeks ago and did biometrics on 30th Aug. Upon trying to check the status it says: Your case can not be found at this time in My Case Status. Please check your receipt number and try again.
Anyone else on the same boat and do i need to take any action to remedify it?
thanks

i didn't realize there are quite a few july 2011 AOS filers forum. I have been posting on the other. Wouldn't it be better to just have one forum.

They finally cashed our check and we received sms that our case was received on August 9th (wife's birthday). We filed on July 18th. Better late than never.
What better day than wife's birthday. Good luck for next steps!

To everybody who have filed their AOS, I need your help. Im starting to fill-up the forms and I dont know what to write on some of the questions, please help me.I want to make sure what i've written is right before submitting it.
These are some of my concerns:
FORM I-485
1. non-immigrant visa number - is that the number written on the upper right side of the visa? it consist of 14 numbers but on the visa it says control number
*** its the number in RED on right hand side of the visa
2. I-94 # - is this the same as the number on the departure record written on the upper left side? consist of 11 numbers and it says admission number
** it should say I-94 number on the card
3. Place of last entry into the united states - I came from Toronto,Canada and thats where I was inspected by a U.S. Immigration officer. Flew to Cincinnati, Ohio. What place will I write to my last entry to U.S.?
** Port of entry should be cincinnati. Cross check with the stamp on your I-94 card or passport page. there should be a stamp with initials of port of entry. (e.g for chicago..it says CHI)
G-325 BIOGRAPHIC INFORMATION
1. I have the A# on my visa,Is the A# the same as the alien registration number and file number?
** Doesn't really matter. They will assign you a new one. I put in what i had on my OPT card but had new A number assigned in my NOA.
It says on the form that the File number starts with A and also the alien registration number it starts with A
I THANK YOU FOR YOUR IMMEDIATE REPLY.

Any suggestions on I-130/I-485 AOS interview questions in Boston? Questions usually asked, experiences and MUST take documents?
thanks

fyi.. tried early walkin biometrics at boston. was turned down (unless you have a valid reason). well, it was worth a shot.

I haven't heard of anyone on here having problems doing an early walk-in. I think it does speed the process...we did an early walk in about 10 days ago, and this morning we have received our interview date already. Our original biometrics appointment wasn't even scheduled until August 15th.

Thanks Mishellibelli. I might try doing this.
Just got an email notification this morning that they have scheduled us an interview for September 12!! Woohoo!
Good luck!!

A quick question. I have read people go in for the "walk in" biometrics appt earlier than their actual appt on this website. Is there any advantage in doing this wrt to speeding the application process? I have my appt in Boston for Aug end, can i do an earlier walk in?
cheers

Received NOA for I-485 and biometrics appt on Aug 6. Biometrics appt in a month.
Should i be expecting NOA for I-130 petition too and does my spouse also have to go for biometrics? Also i am unable to check the case status online using NOA receipt number. Any thoughts?

Cleared the AOS interview today. Went in the morning, waited 30 mins in line. Wife got called in first, she was asked a few questions (how we met, how long we dated, marriage pics, where we live). Then she came out and i was called in. Took oath and then was asked to show passport, I-94 and other immigration documents (EAD card, H1B approval notice). Asked how i met my wife, the first date, our marriage date, lots of yes/no questions on form. Interview lasted 10 mins. She was happy that we came prepared with lots of documents systematically arranged though she didn't look at any documents except marriage album. Approved the 2 year conditional GC on spot which will arrive in mail in few days.
Much thanks to Visajourney website and peeps here for the incredible amount of extremely useful information.
