They did not give my husband his original documents the same day after the interview, they only gave copies. The day of the appointment to pick up his visa they gave him all his original documents along with his passport and visa.

HI! No she does not need to change her name on any of her ID's. I went through the whole process with success. I did not have my name changed on any of my ID'S.

As I understand it, a Police Certificate is needed for the NVC stage of the process (CR-1)??

Should my husband get it now (will send in I-130 in a couple of weeks) or should he wait until we get NOA2?

How long does it take in Haiti?

Where should he go?

How much does it cost?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Police certificate is not needed for Haiti. If you lived outside of Haiti for a particular time then your have to get one from that country.

Did you insist that they send it again by email? Do it, again and again if needed, until you receive it!

And go ahead and book the medical for some time before the 2 weeks deadline! Worst case scenario, you just reschedule it.

HAVE YOU TRIED CALLING

I just received 2 e-mails from NVC one is the choice of agent and the other is telling me to pay the $88 AOS fee, but I didn't receive no e-mail from USCIS saying that the case was approved. I am so excited because I didn't expect to get an approval until April or March the earliest. If NVC set me those e-mails that means I was approved right? silly question I know. Aaaaaaah! I'm so happy

DO NOT SEND THE ORIGINAL COPY. ALTHOUGH USCIS FORWARDS YOUR PAPERS TO NVC, NVC WILL STILL ASK YOU TO PROVIDE CERTAIN DOCUMENTS TO THEM. WHO'S TO SAY YOUR PAPERS MAY NOT GET LOST DURING THE TRANFER. THAT'S WHY THEY SAY SEND A COPY.
