    Hi a+j,

I appreciate your response to my situation. So just to clarify, once you knew your petition was at the consulate, you faxed in the DS-230 and Applicant Statement (without waiting to get a Packet 3 from the consulate-you downloaded it online) and they sent you Packet 4? Thank you in advance.

    Hi Imh,

So if I understand correctly, if you are applying for a DCF, that means you've been a legal resident in Italy for at least 6 months? From what I've heard, that's by far the fastest way to go. I did the K-1 so for me it took us 7 months. I heard for DCF it can take a matter of weeks.

  3. (part 2) you'll get a different person each time. The first person I got was kind of a jerk and told me not to call for another 14 days, but I called a few days later and they said it was already there. Unfortunately for us, we were randomly chosen for "extra administrative processing" but it was only an extra week and then it was off to Naples. Just keep calling...

  4. Antonio has to do a lot of things before he leaves so the plan is for him to come here in May, and we'll get married in June. Some of his family will come over here. OK, I have to get back to work hee hee hee!

  5. As for the I-134, if your fiancé has copies of his tax returns for the prior year, fine. If the past three years, even better. I also had my employer write a letter about my present salary (that took a lot of time because I work for a university and it's very bureaucratic). I also included copies of my W-2 statements for the past three years, 6 months of past pay stubs, plus the deed t...

  6. But he should get a W-2 form, which tells how much he earned in 2012, sometime early in January.

  7. Certainly! I'd be more than happy. We just went through the whole thing at the end of January. Things should move a lot faster at this point. I see you're from Chicago. I'm in Minneapolis. We just had a lot of snow, didn't you have a lot of rain? Well, here's hoping our fiancès bring the Italian sun with them when they come! :-)

  9. Congratulations on getting your NOA1! And it looks like the Vermont Service Center is moving A LOT faster than California right now. Fortunately for Antonio and me, we just got our NOA2 before CSC ground to a virtual standstill. The NOA2 is the longest part (it took us about 4.5 months) but after that things move a lot faster. Have a nice weekend!

  10. Congratulations on receiving your NOA2!!!! Best wishes!!!

  11. Congratulations on your NOA2!

  12. Congratulations!!! I'm so glad you received your NOA2!!! Next step is the NVC. Things move a lot faster from this point on!!!

  13. Congratulations!

  14. For me it took about a week or so, but it was easier because I bought a house in 2011 so I had to have all of these documents collected already. The letter of employment from the university where I work at took the longest. The person working there was kind of lazy.

  15. Good luck on your upcoming interview!

  16. Good to know. Thanks!

  17. He won't get a tax return for 2012 until sometime in 2013 (it's always one year behind). But he should get a letter of employment and previous employment (previous tax returns), plus any assets.

  18. Hi a+j, Thanks for your info, I really do appreciate it. However, we seem to be stuck in some kind of a loop of "yes we have your petition," "no, we don't have your petition," and it's enough to make a person scream. Antonio called that one pay number today (for 15 Euros) only to be told they don't have our petition number. Yet last week (Part II)

  20. Hi Angelina! How's it going for you and Gennaro? How are trends at the VSC? Anyhow, I am hoping you guys get your NOA2 as soon as possible. Antonio is arriving here on May 13th and the wedding is June 16th. We were beyond fortunate in our timing. We played fast and loose with the wedding planning and by some miracle, happened to win against the odds. Hope to hear from you soon!

  21. Hi Angelina! I got some of your message yesterday. I was thinking maybe I reached my message capacity and I need to delete old ones. In any case, if you'd like Antonio to speak with Gennaro about Napoli I'm sure he'd be happy to do so. I'm glad you could see each other and I really hope you get that NOA2 soon!

  22. Hi Angelina! No, for the Consulate, it can be in either Italian or English. They only need it to be translated into English if it is in some other language. The US Consulate in Naples also serves Malta and Iran, so I think they are talking about those languages that that to be translated into English. But Antonio brought everything in English. Do you two converse mostly in Italian?

  23. Hi Angelina! Thanks for your message! Your time will come soon too! If you ever have questions about what we went through, please always feel free to ask! Best of luck to you and Gennaro! Caroline

  24. Hi Angelina! Well, last night Antonio sent me an sms to tell me he finally received his visa! He even scanned it so I could see it. Such a relief! Now I can think about writing a review of the whole process and I definitely will! Hope you guys are doing well! Got lots of great stories of Napoli!

  25. Hi I just looked at the CSC timeline today...June 18! That was a jump from June 10. Our NOA2 is predicted between Sept 30th and Oct 6th. I keep checking the USCIS website...Nulla!
