  1. We really can't tell if it's going to be approved or not. There's no harm in trying. As long as you can provide medical certification/proofs and if you can prove to them that he needs someone to take care of him after the procedure then go ahead. My fiance needs to undergo an eye surgery asap. He has Pterygium on both eyes and according to the doctor he needs to have it removed asap or it might lead to loss of vision. He doesn't have anyone to take care of him after his surgery so I am the best person to do that. He called USCIS on 09/16/11 requesting to expedite my visa. The same day he received an email from USCIS asking for supporting documents. He sent everything on 09/19/11. On Sept 30, out of nowhere I checked our status on the USCIS website and it says Post Decision Activity and last Monday he received a letter stating his expedite request has been approved and wait for NOA2 in the mail in a couple of days.

If you think you have a valid reason to request for an expedite process then go ahead. No one can stop you from doing so. But just remember, even if USCIS already approved the Visa, you still have a long way to go.

Good luck and I hope this help you shed some light. :)

  2. Hi guys! I'm new here. Just wondering if someone could shed some light regarding my confusion with the Letter of Intent. My fiance came to the Philippines for a month vacation. He just left a week ago. He will be having his final hearing for his Divorce next week (but he's been separated for 10 years now.) Before he left, we already prepared all the necessary documents especially those needs to be signed by me for the filing of my visa. I am just wondering, I prepared and signed the Letter of Intent to marry him before his hearing for the Divorce, does the Letter of Intent need to be done after his Divorce or do you think USCIS will still accept the letter even if it's signed before his final Divorce will come out? We prepared the documents ahead of time to avoid the shipping expenses. Thanks in advance for your help. =)
