  1. Help!! We have read many topics and statements on this useful site about filing late(after the I-94 expires)for AOS, but none give a clear-cut, definitive answer. My Fiance arrived October 31st, we were married on December 18th, her I-94 expires on January 29th, so with all the preparation for the wedding-and then Christmas, we are somewhat short for cash this month. The fee for filing for her AOS is $1070.00, so it's going to be tough this month with all the other usual bills I have to pay. My question is,--will we be penalized or will she be at any risk if we file in February or March?

  2. Everyone with Manila embassy experience:

1.After The K1 Manila Emassy Interview, how long before you had Visa in Hand (especially for Zone 9 residents. I want to get my fiance at the best ticket price.

2.Do you think it's too risky to buy the ticket after the interview but before the Visa arrives?

    All Manila Interview experience appreciated!!

    Thanks

This is in another part of VJ, but I think the responses will be more Manila specific here.

It all depends on where she lives in the Philippines..........my fiance received hers in 4 days after her interview, as she lives in the Metro Manila area (Pasig City).......I don't know where Zone 9 is located, but I bought my fiance's plane ticket right after she was approved.

  3. Just call NVC at .......(603) 334-0700........You can follow the automated responses, but it didn't work for us, I just hung on the line until I got a real person to talk to, then gave our info plus our USCIS receipt case # & some security questions for both me & my fiance....and they gave me our case # and when it was shipped. Then I checked DHL tracking(Who the NVC use to ship the packet to the embassy in Manila) and tracked its shipment from info I got on here. After checking and assuming by the date NVC said it was shipped, I determined it had arrived in Manila. Once we had the case #, I sent my fiance the money for the fee to pay at BPI, then made the appointment for her interview at the embassy. It was all very simple.

  4. According to the Official Instruction sheet from the U.S. Embassy in Manila (here)- http://photos.state.gov/libraries/manila/19452/public/Revised%20K1%20Instruction%20Packet%20_3__rtf2_001.pdf ...........There is no mention of the DS-230 form, but it IS listed on the U.S. Embassy's main page for Visa documentation (here)-http://photos.state.gov/libraries/manila/19452/public/Revised%20K1%20Instruction%20Packet%20_3__rtf2_001.pdf It is confusing as to if it's required. I already sent ALL the documents my fiance needs--according to the 1st mentioned instructing sheet, but did not send a DS-230 form. Any help would appreciated

  5. Hello VJ'ers, we just got our NOA2 approval, so it says on the actual document it has been forwarded to the 'consulate' of the 'listed' Does that mean it went directly to the Embassy in Manila or was it forwarded to the NVC here? very confusing. I have also read how to track the NVC case #, listed in several forum readings on this site, but I think I'm doing something wrong when checking on the DHL site. It says enter in the reference box 'EXPdaymonthyearA' so my entry would look like this: EXP01SEP2011A........then adjust the dates and I hit 'track'..........when I do that absolutely nothing comes up. Am I doing it corrrectly? Are those the ONLY numbers /letters I enter? Any help would be thankful.

  6. I need help with I -134,- we haven't received the NOA2 yet, but I want to be prepared. On the instruction form for the I-134, it states to include as supporting evidence: A statement from my bank showing when my account opened, amount deposited in the the last year, and present balance. Then a statement from my workplace showing I am employed full time, since such & such a date, etc. It then states ONLY IF I am self employed to include last years tax returns. Yet I have read many 'Journeys' on this web site where petitioners will send anywhere from 1 to 3 years tax returns and W-2 forms. Anyone shed any light on this? I do have my last five returns on my PC, to print if necessary. I guess it wouldn't hurt to send them, but is it required?
