Better to marry in Denmark and apply CR-1. Its the fastest and cheapest as per my personal experience. If every thing goes fine , you may get your Immigrant visa in hand in 3 or 4 months. But again it varies a lot depending upon your personal circumstances and how fast you are while coordinating with the embassy.Have a good weekend

Our congressman was successful in getting the islamabad embassy to reply to their inquiry. LOL altho it didnt say much more than what DOS is telling us.

Simply put... The case is in normal processing at the embassy. There is nothing wrong with the case as it is undergoing the procedure and will contact the beneficiary when this is complete. No timeframe for completion.

They did reassure the congressman that our case was fine and it was not in washington or with any other unit within the embassy but is in normal processing.

Now.. LOL OMG i had no idea that there are so many ways to say ap ... So what is Normal processing?

So is it just a matter of time? I know... nobody knows.... just hoping for somebody to see some hopeful signs in this (

I hope you will get good news very soon (Inshallah). Today I have very good news to share with you. I got the call from embassy and they asked me to come and collect my immigrant visa and package from embassy. I rushed to embassy and finally got what we were struggling for last few month (Alhumdulilah). It took me exactly 2 month , 1 week and 1 day to come out of AP after interview and get my visa. I really hope and I pray that you guys will soon get out of this black hole and soon I will listen good news from your side especiallu I was thinking of 'EAbass' and 'Carolynhotstuff', who desperately waiting to get out of AP. At the end I would like to say thanks to all vj members for their extra ordinary support and help. Now I am planning to fly to USA and my expected POE will be SFO . I will share my POE experience when I get there somewhere during next week .

The CO did not accept his police record from Australia. Which is strange as we got the one that covered the whole of Australia and Allan even double checked that we had the correct one with the embassy about 2 weeks ago.

So, he's on his way to have his fingerprints at a specified place by the embassy - then has to figure out if they are picked up by the courier service and returned to the embassy or if they need to go somewhere else first then picked up by the embassy.

I guess my question is - once the embassy receives the results from the fingerprints - how long until he gets his visa? The CO said everything else was fine...

If every thing else goes fine . It should not take more then a week to get the visa (provided there is no RFE from embassy). Good luck

So, after speaking to my fiance again - he said that the original woman (not the interviewer) gave him a white packet with the medical results in it and told him to not open it, and to hold on to it, b/c he will need it for immigration once he gets to his POE. Ummmm aren't they supposed to MAIL that to him with his passport? Is that going to mess anything up?

The medical packet you received probably consisted of CD . t should suppose to be like that. Later you get one more packet along with your passport once you approved. So no worries......................

Well, it took a little over a month from my husbands interview until IR1 was issued. It may be a little faster for you, since the CO was off for 3 weeks during July (yep, that's Denmark for you...everything closes down for the summer, even visa issuing :-))

We actually received packet 4 with interview date only 2 days after we sent packet 3. If you haven't already done it, I highly recommend that you get everything ready for packet 4 ASAP (I-864 from sponsor and joint sponsor etc.). It can take a long time to gather all the information, if you haven't started yet. Especially if you have to send papers back and forth from the US. Just a recommendation :-)

Thanks for your advise. We already arranged every thing for our final interview and guess what on Friday 12th August we got our package 4 :-) Our interview date is 31 August 2011. We are so happy....

I just went through the process in Copenhagen for my husband. The whole process probably took about 2 months, from when we filed I-130 until my husband got his visa in the mail. It was all very easy and we are leaving for the U.S. ASAP. I've been in Denmark for 3 years. It's been nice, but we're so happy to be able to go back to the U.S. together.

Please don't hesitate to ask if you want to know more about the DCF process in CPH or something else. Good luck :-)

Thats pretty fast I think. We already submitted packet 3 on 8th august 2011 and now we are looking forward for package 4. Wish we could also get interview date asap.

Just wondering how long it took your husband to get his visa after the immigrant interview ??

July 25 - Stil have'nt get final approval of I-130 from US embassy . Any body else in my boat ?

Just an update. After filing the I-130, we both returned to the states. Our packet 3 was sent to my in-laws in Denmark, and they just faxed it to us. We filled it out and sent it back to the embassy, waited a couple weeks and then emailed for a status (which seems to always prompt them to do something). That same day they sent out our interview notice (again to my inlaws who faxed it to us). Surprisingly, before sending it though, they called my husband to tell him of the date and make sure that date was good for him.

Sooo..he had his interview July 1st. Took them two hours to review the paperwork (they just went through it several times to make sure nothing was missing). All our paperwork was in order, nothing missing and no changes necessary. The consulate remembered my husband and said "oh, I remember you. I asked yall questions at the I-130 filing, so I don't have any questions". They had told him on the phone that he could pick up his visa on the day after the interview. When he mentioned this at the interview, they said this was not possible as the following day (Thursday) is not a walk in day at the embassy and he would need to return the following week on Tues or Friday, which is their walk in days. He left and then sent them an email explaining they had told him previously he could pick it up on Thursday and that he had travel plans for Friday already booked. Surprisingly, they were very nice and said they wouldn't allow him in the building but if he would meet outside the embassy at exactly 3:00 they would come outside and give him his visa, which of course he did.

Soo...filed I-130 on May 1, interview on July 1, very few questions asked (and not even at the interview), visa received July 2nd, flew to US on July 3rd. His POE was unevententful, took all of 15 minutes, and that even included standing in the immigration line after exiting the plane!

Also it should be nice if you let us know which documents we have to provide to US embassy Copenhagen as part of the packet 3 (just being proactive) as we are waiting for packet 3. If possible then please me the complete checklist. Thanks
